Chapter 321 - Surveying the Building

Sued by a monkey suit? Chuan Nayi's eyes flickered as she tried to see what the old man even looked like. However, she couldn't help but stay in her spot as she quietly watched. Besides, Hao Chengyi was handling everything that needed to be done.

Hao Chengyi wasn't fazed though. He had done his research for every location, and so he was naturally aware of this lawsuit that involved the building. "I do know of that, Mr. Cao. It was said that the Yun family bought this building, only to experience the worst things such as missing workers, collapsing floors, and ominous howling at night. Don't worry, the Li Enterprise is not willing to make such a mistake."

He then proceeded to enumerate the reasons why they wanted the building and even reached out to take out a doc.u.ment to give Mr. Cao. "Here, please take a look at our offer, Mr. Cao."

"Tch, the Li Enterprise?" Mr. Cao took the offer and opened the door so they could walk inside his home office. The building was expensive to keep, and so Mr. Cao was still looking to sell it. However, after what happened to the Yun family who won the bidding, he was so keen on scrutinizing offers.

Still, this was the Li Enterprise. Mr. Li was known to solve his own problems and not blame anyone for not researching the matters enough. Now that he had come to take care of the building, Mr. Cao just wanted to see what Mr. Li was going to offer.

That was why his brows actually frowned. It seemed that Mr. Li wanted the building and all the rights to the land. Mr. Cao was also banned from reclaiming anything in the vicinity after the sale was completed. The caretaker then snorted as he continued to take a look… only to take a deep breath at the price.

The figure… seemed to be even bigger than the winning bid.

"Tell me, Secretary Hao. What does Mr. Li want from the building really? Why spend so much for something so insignificant like a building?" Mr. Cao lifted his eyes to take a look at Hao Chengyi.

"Mr. Li is intending to support the frames of a rising giant." Hao Chengyi smiled professionally.

"Mr. Cao would be moving out in a few hours. Our people are to scout the building to map the damages that had been caused by the weird things seemingly present in the place." Hao Chengyi suddenly felt weird saying this now. These lines were in his head hours ago… but it seemed inappropriate now that he found out that the boy was a non-human entity while the woman was a psychic.

Surely, they could sense whatever the Mian shamans would find after the team made their first round in the building, right? Was it still proper to call on shamans when a demon stood next to them? 

Hao Chengyi only had a few things in his mind palace about demons… but they did not apply to the child already. That was why he just decided to leave it to someone who had more knowledge. Still, what would the shaman say when he found a demon in the place?

While he was thinking, a dark blue van with gray accents pulled up behind them. When they turned, Chuan Nayi actually spotted familiar-looking men. They were the ones from the facility that she met when they were loading the boats. One, in particular, went to wrap his arm around Hao Chengyi's neck.

"Yo, Chengyi. Is this the building we're surveying?" The shaman member of the henchmen took a good look at the building as he took off his spectacles. What made it strange was that something seemed to be carved on the inside of his glasses. When he removed it, that was the only time he noticed Guangru standing right in front of him.

"Lunsen, meet Miss Chuan and Xiao Ru." Hao Chengyi had been chatting with them after Mr. Cao had signed the papers so he knew of the boy's name now. "Miss Chuan, Xiao Ru, this is Mian Lunsen. He's a realty surveyor of the Li Enterprise. His team would be taking over the inspection. It would be good if we would wait for the results of their initial investigation."

Mian Lunsen then laughed out before whispering at Hao Chengyi, his voice still loud enough for the other two to hear. "Hey, hey, do you even know that this… this Xiao Ru is…?"

Hao Chengyi nodded even if his eyes were still looking forward. "I had heard of it from Miss Chuan and Xiao Ru. No need to worry, they don't seem to be keen on hurting anyone." Then, he gave a side-eye at the other person. "Lunsen, get to work."

"Welp, if you insist, my lady~" Mian Lunsen sighed and let go of the secretary before walking on ahead. The rest of his team were chuckling and discussing the presence of the demon child. However, they still had to do this on their own. No matter what, their testimonies were the ones taken into account—not Xiao Ru's.

It's just that…

"Uncle, wait for me! Guangru wants to come!" Guangru ran to catch up with the shaman. As if there was nothing wrong with it, Guangru reached out to grab on the edge of Mian Lunsen's shirt. However, Mian Lunsen just looked down at him and took him by the hand instead. They had been watching this child back then, and Du Zhizhuo had testified at the innocence of this child. Besides, Mian Lunsen would be so sure he wouldn't piss off Guangru.

As they left the sight of the two, Hao Chengyi only made a strange sigh before rubbing the side of his neck where Mian Lunsen actually breathed on. Chuan Nayi caught the action… and even the strange blush and slight crunching of his face.

Since Hao Chengyi could easily see her at the corner of his eye, he then turned to her before pushing his glasses up. "Please ignore my boyfriend's antics. We're still working, and yet he's very naughty. Does it make you uncomfortable, Miss Chuan?"

"...wait, what?" Chuan Nayi flinched. She then waved her hand. "Not that I'm uncomfortable! It's because of… I met them in Cherry Medical. They were part of that team that rescued me and my friends. I was just wondering how they're handling things now… after seeing how destructive and gruesome entities are..."

"Hm, I must admit. They were all quite shaken after coming back from that mission. They lost some people, and the mental images would stick to them forever." Hao Chengyi visibly grew a little sad. "Most of them had to be in therapy for a month. I'm just lucky Meng-meng1 is a shaman so it's no question for him that these things exist. He just trembled at the sheer brutality of it."

Just after saying so, he somewhat froze. He blushed wildly for a moment before regaining his composure. He then pushed his glasses up. "Ehem, Miss Chuan, let's wait somewhere we can sit. It won't be good if we continued to wait under the sun."

Chuan Nayi only chuckled. "Sure. Let's wait for your Meng-meng in the car." I borrowed this from 'meng meng da' which roughly translates to 'it's cute'. I'm using it as 'Cutie'.
