The man's eyes moved from Wu Ran to the other person with the blood of the Wu family. Liu Xiaodan's gaze connected with his, and the transcendent's eyes had a hint of menace and ruthlessness. As the chains silently fall off of Sun Yinxie's body, the lunatic seemed to know what was being asked of him.
Liu Xiaodan broke eye contact and walked to bend down and simply take the golf club from Wu Ran's shaking hands. It was as if the grown man's fear had loosened his grip, letting the transcendent take away his weapon easily. Liu Xiaodan had also bent down again to reach out and search the pockets of the shaken man.
Just then, the phone started ringing. Liu Xiaodan pressed the answer button and listened to the voice of the woman who was in rather great discomfort. Wu Shuang spoke through the phone: "Ran, listen. You need to leave that place. I don't know how, but Hades had followed you back here to the house. He probably also knows where you are.
"There's a writing in my vanity. It read 'there is no silence in a blue van', and I think it refers to your car. I don't know how they got inside my room, even if I have the talismans up." She then paused… before gritting her teeth. There was no way she could get all those words in if nothing was up. "I'm talking to a dead man, am I?"
"Not yet. You should continue." Liu Xiaodan laid his eyes on the paralyzed Wu Ran. "Tell him what your Wu family will do to me."
Wu Shuang didn't find it beneficial to continue speaking. More likely, her brother would never leave that place alive. She could only say a few threats: "This is the day you regret clashing against the Wu family. You will never find your family and friends alive after tonight."
As if he wasn't scared, Liu Xiaodan only hummed as if it was a very soft snort. The call ended as Wu Shuang hung up. Liu Xiaodan then placed the phone on the ground, and it broke as if something stomped on it.
His eyes then turned to Wu Ran. "They gave up on you. My people will be targeted again, and so I must make sure at least one of you dies tonight.
"However, I guess I give up on killing you instead."
"What? What do you mean?" Wu Ran chuckled as he was deluded by the possibility of being spared tonight. "You're not killing me?"
"No, I won't. In fact, I'll just ask everyone to leave with me now." Liu Xiaodan only smiled. "Why don't you run?"
Wu Ran actually took the advice and tried to run past the transcendent. Liu Xiaodan didn't make a move for real, and that fact made Wu Ran elated. He thought that he was bound to survive tonight for some reason. However, he suddenly felt hands grabbed his head and threw him to the ground. Someone's body weight pinned him down, and when he turned, he saw the lunatic Sun Yinxie grinning like a demon on top of him.
The transcendent only chuckled in disdain, which was really rare. "What was it that you said, Mr. Sun? How he should wait and see how his blood will splatter on the walls and how his flesh would be dug from the bones? You said a lot, but I'm pretty sure you don't need my friends to get that done.
"Everyone, please follow me out. What will happen here will be very ugly." Liu Xiaodan turned around and walked to leave. With Wu Ran pained and pitiful screams in the background, the captives all ran off as they magically found themselves free from their binds. Even if Du Zhizhuo wanted to remain, he was not willing to watch a human turn into an animal just to avenge his father.
The Student King finally gagged out a body she caught and laid down at a side. She had finished analyzing the dead body's DNA and rebuilding the head. Since it was complicated, it took a while. After that, she vanished. At this very moment, no one else was there to witness the very horrific death of the man… who was killed by a zombie who only lasted until the other was dead.
Sun Yinxie was affected by the drug for more than ten hours now, and his will was the only thing that kept him alive. Now that Wu Ran suffered a horrible death by his hands, he only crawled to lie down next to the body of his father. He had lost a lot of blood, and a moment of sleep was all he needed to leave the mortal world.
…
Outside, Liu Xiaodan and Guangru knew that Sun Yinxie was never going to make it. That was why he just let the man get his vengeance. It was not like he could continue living after that, enough to cause more trouble.
As for the twenty mercenaries, the serum had been drained out of their bodies as soon as they coughed and wheezed blood out like crazy just now. However, they didn't know that. They were still trying to establish contact with Li Heilong or Wang Yusheng at least.
Du Zhizhuo actually came to the two who were standing around as if waiting for someone. His voice was very hopeful. "Is Boss going to be here?"
"Yep, he'll be here. Don't worry, you're not dying anymore." Liu Xiaodan said as he carried Guangru, the demon only embracing him like a child who was sleeping on his shoulder. The transcendent looked past Du Zhizhuo and saw the friends actually deciding if the number of the corpses were still sufficient. No one was going to make a roll call, so they were hoping to make off with more than ten already.
Actually, that was the matter. Some people were killed like bullets pierced through their bodies, even if it was just Guangru's vines. For every three goons, one would vanish for the friends to feast on. That way, the numbers were sufficient to say that there were a lot of goons. However, it still looked like the friends were not satisfied with their share. Tang Mingming was still trying to find the minimum number of people needed to be left there.
Soon, a media helicopter moved to the area. The people had a mixed reaction upon seeing one. However, ropes were thrown down, and men in full gears rappelled down. One of them was even the person half of the captives were expecting to see. Wang Yusheng quickly went to check Du Zhizhuo as soon as his hand landed on the man.
"Xiaodan..." Li Heilong got there as well, but his eyes were on Wang Yusheng who made a thumbs-up at him. The poison was already expelled, but the mercenaries were still experiencing pain and weakness. If Guangru fixed those two, he would have to collect all the dead and leave nothing for the friends and the investigators.
"Mr. Li, I really hope you know where Mom-in-law is." Liu Xiaodan hummed, and Li Heilong actually nodded. He answered, "Here. The green car is not hostile, but I figure you might want to know who owned it."
