Release?! Wu Jiao didn't study occultism as religiously as Wu Zhong did, but he knew that hand seal. It was the same one the shamans he was with used when they were releasing a King in the hospital. For them to actually do this right now, Wu Jiao didn't like what was going to happen.
Bang! Heavy chains were thrown at the guests as if the mere weight of those could hold them down. Wu Jiao caught the chains with ease, but he still lied down as he tried not to get noticed. The ground in the center rumbled and out broke a small tombstone. The Qiao Shamans shifted hand seal, and energy was being s.u.c.k.e.d into the tombstone. Soon, the stone marker shook… and broke apart.
A loud roar and a suffocating aura came right after. The guests started to cry out, but the chains thrown at them were restricting them. Not to mention that most of them were old people, it was not like a normal person could lift links of it. Wu Jiao, however, was capable enough as the female entity inside him was a strong one.
"Rise! Zuixue!" Qiao Weilun laughed out as a silhouette of a being with so many octopus-leg-like limbs formed from the shadows on the ground. A loud scream and wail fused together as if the being was rather not appeased from getting awakened all of a sudden.
The man then eyed Song Lisa and grabbed her by the collar. He pulled her out of the chain blanket and threw her on the ground closer to the forming entity made of shadows. "I have prepared a feast for you, Zuixue. Please… eat as much as you can… and continue protecting the Qiao family."
After he spoke, the sounds coming from the converging shadows lessened to a stop. The silhouette then finally formed into a woman whose hair was blood-red and with hollowed eyes. Her b.a.r.e skin was gray and the lower half of her body was made of octopus legs that cracked like wh.i.p.s on the ground.
"...who summoned me?!" Zuixue was still grouchy, but when her eyes landed on the old woman in front of her… she grew even angrier. "Feeding me with an old human?! I want a child! Young children!"
At these words, Song Lisa felt more appalled… because the next person that Qiao Weilun dragged to the center… was Song Lisa's granddaughter.
"Grandmama! Grandmama, I'm scared!" She ran to her grandmother and started crying in fear upon seeing such a creature. Song Lisa was as equally powerless as the granddaughter. She could only offer her company when the child dies in the hands of the summoned entity.
At the sound of her cries, the hollowed eyes of the entity widened in l.u.s.t. She then stared at the child in hunger. In a split second, she used her legs to strike at the old hag pressing her granddaughter into her saggy body like she was trying to wrap her body around the child. "Give it to me!"
Swish! Something actually jumped from behind them and spun around like he was a top. His arms were like his fan blades… and they were rather very sharp. The winds they produce were able to cut the legs of the entity that rushed towards Song Lisa and her granddaughter.
"Argh! How dare you!" Zuixue screamed in pain as her newly generated legs were chopped off mercilessly. However, what was more shocking to the audience was that… the heavily-injured Wu Jiao actually jumped for so far and was even capable of fighting this thing. Even Qiao Weilun was shocked.
"Mr.—!" Song Lisa called out, but Wu Jiao did a backflip and landed behind them. He bent down and grabbed onto them, effortlessly picking them up and jumping back again to get them to a considerable distance from the summoned entity. However, when they landed on the ground… Wu Jiao actually choked out blood and fell to the ground in massive pain.
A figure of mist escaped from his body and stepped in front of him. In her old-fashioned dress, Bihan stood in front of the three and glared at the summoned entity eye to eye. She then spoke rather loudly as if she couldn't let Song Lisa miss it, "The Shaman Association sent the executioner. The only punishment awaiting the Qiao family… is death and annihilation."
The eyes of the old woman behind her quivered before she choked out a few words: "...what… what have they done to you, Jingyi?"
"...Jingyi?" Song Wangyin's eyes quivered just the same. Her hands trembled, and she clawed at the ground. She then yelled out, "Jingyi, take them away! Save them!"
"Bihan's name is Bihan. It was given to Bihan by her new master..." Bihan didn't understand why she was being called Jingyi by these people, but she didn't care. She was now one of Xiaodan's friends, and she had a mission to do. However, before she could state that, the entity up front launched another attack.
The youthful face of Bihan turned gruesome the very second her image resembled a broken glass. She quickly hopped towards the legs and swirled around to cut through the legs. However, Zuixue was not merely legs moving around. Her arms stretched out and clawed down at the swirling glass.
Bang! Bihan was slammed down onto the ground, but she quickly moved back up and out of the way for the next attack. It was normal… Bihan was just a demon whose powers were halfway recovered. If this one was a very strong demon, then there's a chance that Bihan was not even her match. However, Bihan had her own missions.
"You are only offering yourself to be eaten!" Zuixue felt the burst of power there was within Bihan. This demon seemed to be well-fed. Moreover, she actually had a master. She then grinned. "Introduce me to that master of yours, Bihan. Maybe… he would like to offer himself to be eaten as well!"
"No, Master is busy." Bihan had lost most of her intelligence, and even if she was engrossed by period dramas, she barely had too much exposure to pick up a few things from those. However, she was still smart enough to stick to a promise and a mission. "Bihan had—"
"You bore me." Zuixue had taken a short time to practically get used to the feeling of flexing her power in a short while. Since she was only hibernating and not sealed, her power was not affected by the length of her sleep. Moreover, she was awakened properly. Right now, she was only at the peak of power after a few seconds.
The ground rumbled, and earthworm-looking flesh-colored things shot up to attack Bihan in all directions. She only tried to brace for the hit… but a voice echoed from behind her. "Idiot. You should evade."
Bang! Just like a mirror image of the flesh wh.i.p.s, wooden vines shot out from the ground to intercept the wh.i.p.s. Each collided with one another, and Zuixue was shocked to suddenly meet someone who could easily match her. From the sky faded in the image of a black-haired child in a red hoodie and denim shorts. His shoes even lit up the moment he stepped onto the ground.
However, a very murderous aura spread all over the moment he showed up. His round black eyes stared at the summoned entity. "Bihan won't be able to take you on, but I can."
Zuixue's gaze and grin were strange before she finally spoke, "Lord Wishing Tree..."
