Chapter 41 - Assassin Organization

Arrangements for her new living conditions moved along smoothly. Under The Matriarch's watchful eye, Azer arranged everything very quickly, and alongside everyone's hostile gazes, Iris moved into Rose Drop pavillion.

Riya was given a rather mediocre courtyard, but it was volumes better than her previous ones. Not to mention a big batch of new clothes were given to Iris and Riya, along with more maids and better food arrangements.

Of course, none of the stuff given to them was better than the one the rest of the family received. Their treatment hadn't improved too much.

However, this was more than enough for the time being. Even though the fact that Aria hadn't been punished in the slightest was a disappointment, but it was to be expected.

Aria was chided lightly for the 'misunderstanding' and nothing more was done.

One thing did change after this ordeal.

Aside from when her Grandmother called her over, Iris was never allowed to come sit with the family at the dining table. No one came across her, no one looked at her, no one talked to her. But this was for the best, she had more pressing matters to attend to.

A few days later, a letter from Rivas arrived.

He spoke of his new ideas for making weapons, his plans for setting up a production team and how he wanted to divide the profit.

Iris didn't care about his way of handling things, she had confidence in his skills. But something caught her eye.

'I plan to return to the Capital in a few months, that time would be the best for me. What are your plans on dealing with the organization that wanted to hunt me down? I heard their inner dispute was solved, and now they are more actively gaining the support of the Royal Family.'

That's right, the Assassin Organization.

They were gaining power quicker than ever.

Perhaps she may not be able to get rid of them in one go, unless she gathered more information on them. In her past life, they were a team dominant to the end, and they were one of the biggest forces behind Leon, that made him unable to be challenged.

Their influence was so great that when the Great Female General Iris was sentenced to execution, not a single voice of protest was heard among nobles and commoners alike, despite her popularity due to her achievements, all in fear of them.

So, exterminating completely or damaging the organization to a critical point was a tricky problem.

Iris did not, however, make an empty promise with Rivas without a plan in mind. Her plan had a high chance of success, just that she had spotted a flaw in it, a flaw that could be fixed with a little more information on the organization.

Thus, to back up one plan, another was created.

Since her life would be a battlefield against those who had wronged her, after rebirth Iris had decided to live her life with the solid rules of the Art of War.

And Sun Tzu had said, "Plan for what is difficult while it is easy, and do what is great while it is small."

So, she would tackle the root of the evil, uproot the organization from the core before it could dominate her.

To do that, she needed more information.

And to get information, she'd use the infiltration card.

Infiltrating the organization was the best possible way she could learn more about it. And right now, when she wasn't well known, it would be easier escape unnoticed.

All she needed was a little aid to help her along.

Iris swiftly wrote a reply to Rivas, telling him to come to the capital immediately, and to break off all business for the time being. She instructed him to come in a temporary disguise and to take only one or two of his best products, along with some money. They'd infiltrate the organization together and then, she'd destroy it.

...

Back in the Seventh Prince Mansion, a shadow guard was reporting to Azura.

"Trinity has made its move, Your Highness. That organization contacted The Emperor and most likely made a deal with him. They are probably planning on gaining a foothold and political power in the capital. What do you think should be done now, Your Highness?"

Azura quietly moved himself to sit straight on the bed. He snickered slightly, his dark voice echoing across the equally dark room.

"The best course of action towards a bunch of rats..." He paused, "...is to exterminate them without leaving a single one alive"

His voice was strangely calm while speaking such cruel things, creating a queer affect on the listener.

The shadow guard hesitated,"Your Highness, this...Should we deploy our secret force? They'll clear them in one night." He spoke, with a tinge of pride in his voice.

Their secret force was capable of extermination countries, much less an organization.

"No need." Azura yawned leisurely. "Recently, my fox hasn't come around much, and her absence is making me feel really bored. I'll cure it by tainting the ground with blood. Its been a while since I have killed."

In front of his loyal subordinates, he didn't bother using honoured words to address himself.

Nevertheless, despite his nochalence, the shadow guard trembled slightly. He gulped his saliva down and braced himself to be calm while listening to his Master's plan to kill dozens just for curing his boredom.

This matter wouldn't be handled peacefully after all.
