Fu Qing moved and flicked her wrist and fingers, trying to loosen the rope around her hands. She looked to the side and spotted a thin string that the guy had tossed earlier.
She decided to call the yellow-haired guy Blondie. He seemed more approachable now, although he still kept a close eye on her. When Fu Qing saw the scores of security stationed outside her door, she gave up on her plans to flee.
Thankfully, they didn’t dare put a finger on her. They assured her she would be given all of her requests as long as she didn’t leave the room.
Despite this arrangement, Fu Qing had already worked out a strategy in her mind. She sat down comfortably on the bed and called out,
“Anybody there? I’m starving.”
“Hold on a second.”
She heard Blondie request his colleague to bring him a loaf of bread, sausages, and a cup of instant noodles. Once everything was set, he handed the tray to Fu Qing.
“I don’t eat these kinds of food!”
In a flash of rage, Fu Qing threw the noodles on the floor and scowled at him. “I’m hungry, but I refuse to eat all these carbs and processed food. I’d rather starve to death than take a single bite of that junk!”
“And by the way, I’ve got a serious stomach issue. My insides will bleed if I’m starved for a long time.”
Fu Qing indolently leaned back against the headboard, glaring at Blondie with a miffed expression.
The guy couldn’t help but stroke his chin in ire.
He felt burdened trying to satisfy her, just as one would expect from a young lady.
“There isn’t a single restaurant in this area. Please wait for a while, little miss. I’ll get someone to cook something special for you immediately.”
He was about to leave after giving an explanation when he caught the eyes of his colleague peeping outside the door. He stood up at once.
“Hey, bro, there’s a newly opened restaurant somewhere here. It’s an authentic ramen noodle shop, and the owner himself prepares the ramen’s flavorful broth. I bet the little miss is used to eating that kind of fancy meal. I’ll ask him to create one special order right away.”
Ramen noodles?
Blondie cast a quick glance toward Fu Qing, and she nodded sluggishly.
“Ask him to bring it over as soon as it’s ready. I hate eating soggy noodles. And make sure he doesn’t make it too spicy.”
“Yes, noted. I’ll tell him to bring it over once it’s ready.”
After saying that, Blondie casually kicked the nosy thug. He understood and sprang to his feet, sprinting for the noodle shop.
Fu Qing chuckled ruthlessly in her heart after watching the scene.
She overheard what Jin Hu had told his men. At least they were keen enough to realize that they couldn’t risk aggravating the city’s officials and enforcers.
If something terrible happened to her, although her grandfather’s and Zhan Qi’s fury would subside, they’d still be caught in a big mess. It was unfortunate that they had confiscated her phone and belongings, preventing her from communicating with her family.
With this in mind, Fu Qing yelled again, this time grabbing her hair in despair.
“I’m thirsty.”
“Okay, let me get you some water, young miss.”
Blondie went to fill a glass with cold water and offered it to Fu Qing earnestly.
Afterward, he asked Fu Qing if she wanted to watch TV to kill time. Although he was feeling spiteful about having to do such things, he had no choice but to accept the task on hand. Then he asked for someone to bring in the TV and set it up for her.
She was having so much fun messing up with the guys, so she continued tormenting them. The yellow-haired guy raced back and forth multiple times in just a span of ten minutes.
At last, the ramen arrived.
“Bro, the food is here. The owner delivered the ramen himself.”
The thug yelled out from outside their hideout. Blondie motioned for the shop owner to go inside and bring the food in.
“Just leave it over there.”
The elderly shop owner nodded. He bowed his head and placed the noodles on a small round table. When he glanced around, he noticed Fu Qing seated on the edge of the couch, watching TV. A flicker of confusion flashed over his wrinkled face, and his eyes lit up at once.
‘It’s her!’
Baffled and unsure of what to do, he drew in a heavy breath and intentionally moved the warm bowl, creating an ear-piercing sound.
Annoyed by the noise, Fu Qing shifted her gaze in displeasure to the direction of the sound, and her eyes narrowed when she saw the old man.
It was Master Franz!
He was the elderly guy who she once helped send to the hospital!
Fu Qing stopped in her tracks but recovered from her astonishment quickly. She hurriedly squashed her shocked reaction and waved her hand frantically. “Come on, old man! Hurry and get out. I don’t want you spoiling my appetite while I eat.”
Her other hand, however, was sending a signal to Master Franz for help.
The old man saw it and nodded slightly. He lowered his head and walked away.
He phoned the Ferguson’s family landline number as soon as he arrived at his shop.
“Hello, I’m looking for Young Master Zhan Qi. Please tell him it’s urgent.”
Master Franz finally breathed easily when he heard Zhan Qi’s deep voice coming from the receiver.
“Sir, please send someone to my place as soon as possible. I saw Miss Fu Qing just now, and she was holed up in this house at the west end of town. They kept her locked in the room to the right when you enter the house..”
