Chapter 565 - 152: I Haven't Claimed It Is Your Fault

"It was just a bet. You don't have to jump into the pond," Iris thought to herself.

Vivian frowned, "You are still young. Being a young man, you are ignorant of the ways of the world and impulsive. If Sean couldn't come to save you as soon as possible, it would be a disaster."

"I feel a deep sense of shame. Everyone knows that she bet Iris that Sean would save him. Moreover, their gauze skirts are wet. What a shame!"

"It makes sense. It is my fault, grandmother. I should let Sean come there first, and then I can bet Iris that Sean must save me. If Sean were there, it would be better."

Obviously, Pearl and Iris set a trap for Catherine. Everyone knew that, but no one would like to help Catherine because they were jealous of her. Sean loves her so much. As for grandmother, she held the same view though Catherine is her daughter-in-law.

"You shouldn't do that with the cost of your life."

"I know that. Pearl also knew it."

Sean gave Pearl a cold glance, which made Pearl tremble.

"Bullshit! You didn't tell me you can't swim."

"I asked Pearl if she can swim, and she said yes."

"You didn't ask me. Don't bend the truth."

"Do I? Okay... Iris. Do you remember what you said?"

Iris said she couldn't swim, but she didn't ask Pearl if she can swim.

"Just like Iris, I can also fabricate evidence too."

"I…"

"All right. All right. The most important thing is that no one got injured. We don't have to find the man who made a mistake. All of you are just kids. You do something for fun. Take ease. But don't do that again. Life matters" interrupted Catherine.

Although Catherine was old, she had good judgment. Catherine knew it was her granddaughter's fault, so she helped Pearl.

"You are right. Don't repeat it. The most important thing is that you are safe."

Pearl was a little bit haggard, but she tried to show her grace and smiled, "It is my fault. Sorry. I shouldn't make a bet. But I don't know you can't swim. Sorry."

Catherine raised her eyebrows and thought to herself, "That is to say. I lied?"

"It doesn't matter. I am a little bit impulsive. But I have the reason. Sean is my husband, and I believe he will save me first. However, Pearl seems to be overconfident. Do you want to prove that Sean loves and he will put you in the first place?"

Pearl pinched the center of her palm, but she still wore a smile on her face.

Catherine thought to herself, "How can she stay calm? What a sophisticated woman!"

Clara shook her head and said, "It is too much. I don't know what you mean to do, but you are not unfriendly."

Catherine winked an eye at Clara, thinking to herself, "Clara is right. Iris is unfriendly. She wants to cast a bone between Sean and me. Think about it. If Sean chose to save Pearl, how do I feel? She tried to prove that Sean loves her the most. What a joke!

The truth is that Sean saved me. Poor Pearl."

"I didn't mean to do that," Iris tried to explain.

"Iris, think about it. If Sean mistook Catherine and saved Pearl, how embarrassed Catherine is?"

"So, how does Pearl feel if Sean saved Catherine?"

"She knew Sean loves Catherine," said Clara annoyingly.

Clara was tired of gossips and fights between girls, and she had never gotten involved in these trivial matters. But this time, she couldn't help but defend Catherine.

Clara thought to herself, "I didn't think Pearl loves brother Sean, but now I find Pearl loves him very much."

"Brother Sean meant to save Pearl. When I told Sean, who is Pearl, he immediately swam toward her without hesitation," Iris tried to retort for the interests of Pearl.

"So?"

"Since Pearl and Catherine all wore a white dress and it was a little dark, I think it is normal to mistake."

Catherine couldn't help but laugh, "Pearl and you are good friends. She jumped into the pond first. Don't you know where she is?"

Iris was speechless.

Iris and Pearl didn't know how to argue. They don't have more evidence to support what they claimed.

Sean finally said in a cold tone, "Can't I recognize my wife?"

Apparently, Sean knew the woman that Iris pointed to was Catherine, so he swam toward her.

Sean wanted to save Catherine, not Pearl.

Although Iris wanted to argue, she was speechless.

No more words could help them, but bad for them.

"Iris, keep quiet. It is my fault. Miss Stewart, I'm sorry."

"Okay, I forgive you. Keep in mind: don't grab others' things. It is disgusting."

Pearl was angry and said, "Sorry. I am not good. I have to go."

Pearl left as soon as possible, just like a deserter.

Iris immediately chased her.

Vivian likes Pearl very much, so she was angry too.

"Pearl has already apologized. Why not forgive her? Naughty girl!"

Catherine felt innocent and thought to herself, "God. Who is a naughty girl?"

"Mom, what's wrong with Cathy?"

"She doesn't make a mistake. Why does she make a bet with Pearl? She meant to make Pearl embarrassed."

"Pearl deserves it."

"All right. All right. Stop here. Vivian, let's go home."

"Grandma, I'm sending you back home."

Since it was too late, Grandma refused them and let Catherine and Sean get back directly.

Catherine grabbed her handbag and kicked the stone under her feet, "Did I do something improperly today?"

Sean held her hand and comforted her, "No. Forget about it."

"It seems like I am the person who likes to make trouble. They set the trap first. They want to show everyone that I pushed Pearl so that she fell into the pond. And then you saved her. I don't want to cooperate, so I jumped into the pond too though I was terrified."

Catherine lowered her head in frustration.

Catherine knew grandmother didn't like her. Thus, grandmother scolded her though it was Pearl's fault.

Sean suddenly held Catherine, and his hot breath blew on her neck.

Sean said gently, "You little fool. I haven't claimed it is your fault."

"Haven't you? You said it is my fault and asked me what it is, I think it is not my fault, but you beat me."
