Chapter 575 - 162: Did I Say You Can Come With Me?

"What did you say?"

Linda cried and said, "I did overhear your conversation the other day. I know Tom is grabbed by Harlan. I also know he would kill him if we don't give him 20 million dollars and Sophia."

Tom wouldn't die instantly. Harlan would torture him slowly.

Harlan was an awful person and must have no empathy. Linda had hesitations. She would be heartbroken if anything should happen to Sophia.

But Tom's safety became a priority, and she decided to sacrifice Sophia.

Catherine sneered, "Sophia did the right thing after so many years. I feel disgraceful for her for having you as her parents."

It was as much Tom's fault as Linda's that Sophia was forced to marry a playful and abusive jerk in Catherine's last life.

After rebirth, Catherine tried to change the life, of course, made sure everyone she wanted to protect and remain safe. However, she neglected how shameless Linda and Tom could be. How far did they push Sophia in her last life that she made a compromise?

Cutting off ties was a good thing. So from now on, Sophia wouldn't be dragged and could live for herself.

"Linda, you can live the life you want with Tom. No, I will only save Sophia. I don't care about Tom. He can drop dead! Then you can spend the rest of your life with his ashes. Forget about Sophia at all and follow your heart,"

Catherine used to respect Linda. Now she despised her.

She used to think Linda was an admirable woman. She had to take care of Sophia as her husband was useless. But she didn't break down. She stayed tough to survive.

Then Catherine thought what a misjudgment of character she made.

Linda begged, "Catherine, stay out of this, okay?"

"What the heck!"

Catherine would hate herself for standing by and doing nothing.

"This is our family business. Stay out of this." Linda blurted out.

"Linda, how could you say so?"

Linda said, "Catherine is the one who paid for your medical bills. That was a huge amount of money."

"I appreciate Catherine. But I don't want her to get involved in this matter."

"Send her back. I don't want to see her again."

Catherine felt disgusted.

And Linda was thrown out of the mansion.

"What an ungrateful woman!" Catherine was so furious while thinking about Linda's behavior.

Sean wasn't interested in their bickering. But Linda upset Catherine, which was unforgivable.

"Sir, Sophia is in Harlan's casino."

Catherine took a deep breath and said, "There she was. What a silly girl!"

Both Maria and Samuel were worried about Sophia.

"Sean, let's go to the casino to get Sophia out."

"I'll go on my own. You stay at home."

"No. I want to come with you."

"No!"

Sean refused. The casino was too dangerous. He couldn't let her come along.

"Let me come. I won't take it staying at home. And I could talk Sophia out of this."

Sean looked coldly. He didn't want to agree.

"Aren't you confident that you can protect me? You're Sean, and you have a lot of men. You can take them all, and they won't try anything."

If Sean didn't say yes, it looked like he was useless.

"And isn't your big brother in the military? We could ask him to get a military team over and kiss the asses of people in the casino. Then Harlan would have to release Sophia."

Catherine thought about how cool it was that a group of soldiers surrounded the casino and couldn't help admiring Sean's big brother.

"What are you thinking? We can't abuse military forces."

"We can't?" Catherine looked upset and said, "I thought it might happen since he's family."

"Do you think we can use military forces randomly?"

"That's how the shows on television and books say."

"It's a waste of my brother's talent."

And his brother would laugh at Sean.

"That's not a small matter."

"I can take care of this."

Sean could not let Catherine look down on him. It was just Harlan, so it was a small matter.

"Let's go now."

Since Catherine knew Sophia went to Harlan's casino on her own, she has been worried. She wished she could be there right away and stopped her from doing anything stupid.

Sean smiled and said, "Did I say you can come with me?"

"You didn't say no."

"That's a serious place."

"I know. How could I take this lightly, knowing Sophia's situation is unclear? Take me with you, honey?"

Sean got out of breath. It was like a feather crossed his heart. He felt itchy seeing how playful and smart Catherine was.

Sean cornered her and looked down to kiss her.

"Don't. We're in public."

Sean didn't care. He was the owner and could do anything he wanted.

Maria already left with Samuel when she felt the change.

Catherine felt dizzy from the kissing but didn't forget what she was supposed to do, "Save Sophia..."

Sean let her go and said, "Fine. But you have to stay with me."

"Okay. I'll grab your sleeve and don't wander about."

Sean only took Catherine to the casino.

Catherine was confused about the arrangement. They were seriously outnumbered.

"Did Andrew call for help?"

"It's just the two of us?"

"Are you scared?"

"No."

Sean smiled.

"We're here?"

"Get out of the car."

The casino staff saw Sean's fancy car and thought he was a customer. And they welcomed him in with respect.

Catherine said, "Do they think we're here to gamble?'

"We're all gamblers for them."

The casino was big and crowded. The business was good.

Catherine wasn't interested in the casino. She kept alert of the surroundings.

"Sean, there are so many muscles."

"Call me honey."

"If you ever call me by my name, you'll be punished."

Sean whispered to Catherine's ears, and then she felt his hot breath. Then Catherine got shivered.

Catherine said, "We're here for Sophia."

"I know. We can do both."

"Can we see Harlan?"

Even if they did, Harlan wouldn't release Sophia easily. She wondered what Sean's plan was.

"Follow me and try not to get lost."
