Chapter 578 - 165: You Dealt Well

Who lost?

Catherine immediately looked up at Sean's voice.

Sean held a red heart Q with his right hand.

"Really?" Harlan didn't believe Sean and said, "Show me what you've got."

"Catherine, show him."

Seeing Sean didn't get gloomy or upset, Catherine wondered if he had the deck of cards to win."

"10JQKA!"

It was a royal flush.

Harlan already got great cards. Who knew Sean could have such great luck!

"How's that?"

"I lost."

Harlan was anything but a sore loser. He admitted it willingly.

Catherine didn't know how to play, and Harlan could tell from the way she dealt. But Sean won anyway, which meant he was super lucky.

"When the husband and wife team up, even the gold can be broken. I've learned a lesson."

"Thanks."

Catherine couldn't believe it. She asked with a surprised look, "Sean, do we really win?"

"Yes. You dealt well."

"Really?"

"Yeah. You're my lucky charm."

"I told you we could be lucky. I had a terrible fright before."

She thought she would make Sean lose, which would cost his dignity and Sophia. That would make them the same as Tom.

Betting on other people was the filthiest and inhumane.

Sean smiled, seeing how pleased Catherine was.

"Harlan, we have won. You have to release Sophia as we said."

Harlan's look was displeased.

Others were tremendously shocked because Harlan never lost before. Some gamblers tried to clear off all the debts with one game with Harlan, and they all lost, including Tom.

Tom lost his daughter to Harlan.

But Harlan lost to Sean.

"Why don't you say anything? Do you want to break the promise?"

The idea crossed Harlan's mind, but he couldn't do so. He was a cheater but not a guy that broke promises.

"Take Sophia out."

Catherine's racing heart then slowed down.

What a thrill that was! Catherine felt she was on a roller coaster trip. She felt scared and uneasy.

Luckily, it ended well. Sean won.

Sophia was taken to the lobby. She was just out of the shower and wore the dress Harlan gave her. Her hair was on her shoulders and made her look fresh and stunning.

"Sophia!"

"Catherine!"

Sophia couldn't believe that Sean took Catherine here. She was worried that something bad would happen to Catherine.

Catherine came to Sophia and said, "Let go of her."

Harlan's men looked at him, waiting for instructions.

Harlan got more upset and said, "Wait."

"What Do you want to take back your own words?"

"No. I'm an honest man who keeps my promise. But Sophia, so are you, right?"

Sophia's look changed instantly.

Although Sophia had no idea what had happened, she could tell that Catherine might find a way to save her. But she promised Harlan that...

What should she do?

"Shut up! Sophia, tell me, what did he make you do?"

Harlan's look couldn't get worse.

The first failure in his life was a serious blow to his ego. But losing to Sean wasn't too humiliating. After all, Harlan thought of Sean as a respectable enemy.

But losing was one thing; losing Sophia was another thing. Harlan found him useless.

He could not give up and let the girl he was interested in walk away.

Harlan thought he could at least have fun with Sophia a couple of times. But now, he had to give her up without even touching her fingers. If he had known he would lose, he would meet Sean later. It all came down to that he underestimated what Sean was capable of.

Sophia was surprised that how aggressive and harsh Catherine turned. The look on her face was murderous.

If Catherine found out what she promised Harlan, Sophia couldn't imagine what she could do.

"Sophia, talk to me."

"Catherine, I..."

"You can't tell her? I will."

"No!" Catherine stopped Harlan harshly.

Harlan's look couldn't get any worse. He failed overwhelmingly with these two girls. If he didn't do something to redeem his reputation, he would be a disgrace to his family!

"You have promised me to be my girlfriend. You have to keep your promise."

"Sophia, is that true?"

Sophia had so much to say, but she was choked on words.

"Linda said she begged you to save Tom. You said yes and cut off ties with them. Did you really agree to Harlan that you would be his girl?"

"Yes."

Sophia closed her eyes and said, "I use myself to trade for Tom. And we don't have to pay back the 20 million."

Catherine kicked over the chair.

She was late and couldn't stop Sophia from doing it.

Catherine couldn't expect that Linda could be so selfish or how silly Sophia would be, to sacrifice herself for her ungrateful parents.

Harlan said, "So Sophia is my girl now."

"But you have lost the game. Let her go!"

"Fine. Then I want my money back and Tom's life. That's not negotiable."

Harlan thought he gave them a good deal. After all, he lost 20 million for Sophia. Since he couldn't have her, he must have the money.

"Do whatever you want to Tom. And we'll give you the money."

Money was not a problem for Catherine. Even if she didn't have it, she could borrow it from Sean.

"This is up to Sophia. Let her make a decision."

Harlan didn't want to give up Sophia. So he decided to let Sophia make a choice.

Harlan knew that Sophia promised her mother she would bring Tom back. But she hasn't done it. Then she would not leave.

"Sophia, let's go."

Catherine held Sophia's hands and said, "You have unacknowledged them as your parents. So it's not your problem what will happen to them. Tom deserves what's coming to him for the mess he caused. Do you have to clean up his shit every time?"

Sophia forced a bitter smile and said, "Catherine, the precondition is I bring Tom home."

"So what? You're not coming with me?"

Sophia didn't respond.

"Are you crazy? Do you know what kind of man Harlan is? Women are toys for him. He's vicious and aggressive with them. Does he deserve your time?"

"Hey, watch your tongue!"

Harlan was upset that he was called being "vicious and aggressive."

"Shut up! Girls are talking, and guys shouldn't interfere."

Harlan was speechless and couldn't believe a girl snapped at him. He would get mad and beat her up, but she was Sean's wife.

Then Harlan decided to let this go and be a bigger man.

This was Harlan's casino, and they shouldn't stay long. So Catherine whispered to Sophia, "Let's go first, and we'll find a way to save Tom."
