Chapter 582 - 169: I’m Not A Playboy

"Mrs. Blair, should we prepare lunch?"

"We'll have lunch when Sean returns."

Susan got the message and left.

Catherine was pacing around in the living room, feeling antsy. She was worried about Sean and looked agitated.

"Mrs. Blair, you have to trust Mr. Blair. He will be fine."

"I trust Sean. But Harlan might play dirty. He's too despicable and capable of anything."

"I'll go back and check."

Geoffrey decided to go to the casino again to check on the situation, so he could report back to Catherine.

"It's okay. Your hands are still hurt."

"But..."

"We'll wait at home. He'll come back safely."

Catherine knew Sean would be fine. In her last life, Sean outlived her.

But she didn't know whether Sean married or not. After she ran away from his mansion, she never tried to learn anything about him.

Sean and Brad got out of the casino safe and sound, and they saved Tom, who was covered in blood.

Brad said with contempt, "You're going through the trouble for a gambler?"

"It's not because of him. It's Harlan."

"Harlan is a tough man."

If Tom got into trouble in any other casinos, they could take care of it with money. But he had to gamble in Harlan's casino. That was too bold of Tom. And he deserved what he suffered.

"Luckily, I got here in time. Or there might not be an end to your problem."

Brad was pleased that he saved Sean.

Brad crossed paths with Harlan before. He knew about him. To subdue Harlan, one must be more vicious and aggressive than him. Violence must be eradicated by violence.

Before Brad came, he talked to Harlan's father. Knowing Harlan messed up with Sean, Harlan's father was furious. He almost grabbed Harlan on his own.

They got out of the casino in one piece for two reasons. One, Harlan was afraid they would blow his place up. After all, he knew Sean's brother was in the military. It was no problem to get bombs. Secondly, Harlan got a call from his father. He went mad and asked Harlan to release Sean right away. And he had to apologize.

Harlan was reluctant, but he had to release Sean.

After the hustle and bustle, Harlan got nothing and looked bad in front of Sean. Besides, Tom stained his casino, and it reeked of blood.

He got neither 20 million nor Sophia. He felt such a coward and could commit suicide out of shame.

After Sean and Brad left, he started venting off on Eric and beat the shit out of his men.

"But what about him?"

Brad asked. Tom was ugly and covered in blood. Brad couldn't take one look at him. It was disgusting.

"Leave him at the door of his house."

If Linda wanted her husband back so much, she could have him.

It was seven in the evening when they returned home.

Catherine came out hearing the sound of the car and said, "Sean!"

Then Catherine saw him. The man was standing in the darkness, but his eyes were as sparkling as the stars. She was never desperate to see him as she was.

Sean hurried to hold Catherine seeing she came over to him. Catherine landed in his arms safely.

Brad leaned against the door frame and watched everything. He teased, "Hey, since when do you get so tight? I'm jealous of you."

Catherine then noticed Brad. She got embarrassed and stepped back.

Sean then noticed Catherine didn't have any shoes on. She stepped on the grass with b.a.r.e feet, which were like pearls. Then his look changed for the worse.

"You must be Sophia Walls. You're as lovely as your name sounds."

Sophia was speechless. Brad's sudden compliment surprised her.

Catherine grabbed Sophia to sit down next to her. She looked at Brad with a warning, "Sophia is my friend. Sophia, this is Brad. He's a playboy. You have to avoid him as much as possible."

Catherine wasn't stupid. The way Brad looked at Sophia was as a tiger saw his prey. It was so obvious.

"What? I'm not a playboy. Catherine, that's slandering. I'm very devoted."

Catherine made a face.

"But Sean told me that you dazzled so many girls at the Fields Mansion."

Brad said, "Sean, how could you say that?"

Sean said coldly, "It's the truth."

"That's not. I only try to make a nice first impression. Catherine, did I do anything to offend you? We've only met a few times."

First impressions were important. So Brad didn't want Sophia to think of him as a playboy. Most women thought of him as a dashing and handsome gentleman.

"You didn't offend me."

"Why do..."

"I do whatever I like."

Brad cleared his throats and said, "Catherine, don't you want to know why I came back with Sean?"

Brad thought if he was at the casino earlier, he would meet Sophia. Then he would save her and be her hero.

"Gambling?"

Brad wished he never asked the question.

"I'm not a gambler!"

"Then why are you there?"

"I was there to help. I brought reinforcement and bombs. If Harlan didn't compromise, I would blow his casino up."

"Really? But I didn't see you."

"Ask Sean."

Sean didn't answer it until a long time ago, "He's telling the truth."

Catherine nodded and said, "But you were too late. Harlan went mad, and Sophia and I were shocked. If you were there earlier, the problem would be solved sooner."

Instead of gratitude, Brad got the complaint.

Sophia saw Brad's look and said, "Thank you."

Brad turned happy and said, "It's nothing."

"He has said it's nothing. So don't say thank you. We're friends. Helping each out is what we do."

Brad was trying to be generous. But Catherine wouldn't let him.

Brad has known what a silver tongue Catherine had at the Fields Mansion. He teased her about it. And Catherine got back with him.

He would have an argument with Catherine if it weren't for Sean.

Sophia suddenly stood up and said, "Thanks, guys. Without you, I might not come back. I'd like to propose a toast."

"Sophia!"

"Catherine, I have to say thank you. I'm not ungrateful."

She knew without Catherine's help, Harlan wouldn't release her father. Besides, Sean got physical with Harlan. She owed them a lot.

"Nice! You're being direct. And I like it. Here, let's raise a glass!"

The environment at dinner was easy and free. It wasn't boring since Brad was present. And Sophia seemed to be happier.
