Chapter 618 - 205: How Come It Gets So Serious?

Catherine developed a high fever in the middle of the night. She hasn't been feeling well in the afternoon. So after dinner, she went to bed. By the early morning, she was burning that shocked Sean.

Then he found out Pearl was behind this. She made Catherine exposed to apricot pollen, which induced her allergy. Sean was furious and went after her family business, Taylor Inwood.

Taylor Inwood has made a name of itself. So its owner, Karl Johnson, couldn't be happier. The fall/winter collection was on the schedule. But to his surprise, a fire ruined everything.

Not only that, the computers were all hacked. When they were done repairing, every piece of the draft was gone. Taylor Inwood lost a lot of money.

It happened in a matter of a couple of hours. Clearly, it was a premeditated attack. Thinking the fall/winter line couldn't be released as scheduled, and so many orders couldn't be delivered on time, Karl was sick with rage and went into the hospital.

Sean sneered when he knew about it.

Then he came back to Catherine. She was in sound sleep. He didn't disturb her and came into the bathroom with his robes. He didn't realize her burning body until after he lay next to her.

"Catherine, wake up!" said Sean.

Catherine passed out and didn't respond. Her face was redder, and her breath was hot.

Sean called David Blair, his cousin/doctor, to come over.

"Sean, I'm not being late, aren't I? You asked me to come here within 20 minutes, and I did."

David jumped out of bed and rushed over, wearing his clothes, taking his medicine kit.

"Catherine has a fever."

"I'll take a look," said David.

David took a guess on the way here. Catherine seemed to be the only one that would make Sean lose control. Although he only met her once at Sean's wedding, he had heard a lot about her.

David knew Vivian always complained to his mother how Sean married someone she didn't approve of. Catherine had a bad temper and came from a terrible family. Before the wedding, she tried to elope with another man. And she couldn't get into college. Anyway, Vivian did her best to demean Catherine.

So David was curious about what kind of woman Catherine was to lure his cousin into marriage. But he was certain Sean was over-protective of her.

David was shocked to see the rash on Catherine's face. He tested her body temperature, and it was so high. So he gave her an IV infusion.

"It's a fever caused by an allergy. The inflammation is quite serious."

Sean frowned, "Can you help her?"

David wasn't mad since his professionalism was questioned. "Of course I can. It's just an allergy. I won't say I'm not a good doctor if I can't handle this."

Sean said, "I wouldn't call you if you didn't live the nearest."

"Sean!" David was not pleased being looked down on.

But David knew Sean was being deliberate. If he didn't trust him, he wouldn't call him to treat Catherine.

Sean sneered, "Catherine's not in a position to go to the hospital. Or I wouldn't ask you to come over."

David was used to how mean Sean was. He neglected him and gave Catherine the IV transfusion.

"Be careful," Sean warned.

David said, "This is very easy."

"Don't you see how think her wrist is? If anything should happen to you, I'd give you hell."

"Fine. I'll be more careful."David said. He had to hold back the urge to laugh, but he couldn't. Catherine's condition was serious.

Sean looked at David like he was a trainee at the hospital. David thought he would wring his neck if he missed Catherine's veins. David couldn't help shivering and acted more carefully in case Sean got mad.

"It's okay. Now we have to ask Catherine to take medicine."

Sean went out and came back with a glass of water. He sat by the bed, held Catherine up, and fed her the tablet.

Although Catherine was unconscious, she knew to swallow it.

"What caused Catherine's allergy?" asked David.

"Apricot pollen."

"How come it gets so serious?"

The lighter syndrome of an allergy is a few rashes. But Catherine had rashes on both cheeks and had a fever. This wasn't a normal allergy.

"She's condition is special. It didn't break out after days."

David looked at the rash on her arms and cheeks. He asked, "It's eczema. Has she gone to the doctor?"

"Her medicine is right over here." Sean pointed at the bag on the table.

David took a look, "It's pretty standard stuff. But Catherine has acute eczema. She has to use medical lotion. I'll prescribe it."

So Catherine had a bad allergy, or she would get better after taking medicine. Instead, she got worse and had a fever. That was quite a special body condition.

Sean tried to challenge David but gave up. If he wouldn't trust David, he didn't have to ask him to come over.

Sean frowned at Catherine's red face due to the fever. She was suffering, and he had to stand by and do nothing.

If he could, Sean would take Catherine's place. He hoped she would be well all her life.

"Sean, don't touch her face. There might be an infection."

Sean stroked her forehead and put her hair behind her ears. He couldn't help feeling sorry for her. She was the soft spot in his life that made him suffer. Once he wasn't around, something would happen to her.

"Don't touch anything related to pollen. Keep the room dry and good ventilation. Apply this five or six times per day."

"When can she get better?"

"It takes at least three to five days. If her fever is gone tonight, she'll be okay. And eczema will get better. But it takes time."

Sean turned upset.

"But how could Catherine get an allergy? Doesn't she know about her pollen allergy?"

The mention of it made Sean's face gloomier and darker.

"Fine. I won't ask."Sean's look crept David out.

He dipped Q-tips in the lotion and asked, "Where does Catherine have rashes? You need to cover it all."

"Leave us alone," Sean said.

"Okay."

Every time Sean looked at Catherine's back full of rashes, he got upset. Her back was supposed to be smooth and fair. Then he thought Johnson's family's punishment wasn't enough.
