Chapter 638 - 225: Don’t Be Such A Wet Blanket

"Catherine, let's watch the basketball match at the stadium. It's us VS computer team." Ethel said.

Catherine shook her head as she said no.

"Don't be such a wet blanket. I heard Ken would play." Ethel said.

"Who?" asked Catherine.

"Ken Hosk, the hot guy in our major," Ethel said.

"He plays basketball?" asked Catherine.

"Of course. He's on our basketball team. And I was told he is an incredible and ruthless player on the court. For the opponent team, I believe Elliot will play. He's one of the best they got." Ethel said.

Catherine didn't care about Elliot. But she would go for Ken.

Ethel said, "Let's go. They are the two most handsome guys in our major and computer major. And they will play in the same match. How often does that happen? If we don't hurry, we might lose good spots."

"Let's go."

Catherine put away her book, got her bag, and went to the stadium with Ethel.

Anna and Cecil came too. The four bought drinks on the way. When they got there, there was a crowd.

"Over here!" Ethel saw the places on the first row.

Catherine saw Ken in basketball uniforms running across them. The short dark hair was loose on his forehead. He still looked indifferent.

Ding. Catherine got a message from Elliot.

It read, "I saw you."

Catherine looked up. Elliot was leaning against the handrail. He looked straight at Catherine.

"Are you here to cheer me up?" another message read.

Catherine sent an eye-rolling emoji, and a message read, "I'm here for Ken."

Catherine had to cheer for her own major. Besides, she didn't know Ken that well.

"Do you know Ken?" Elliot sent another message.

"Yeah."

"How?"

"None of your business." Catherine sent the message and set her phone on mute, ignoring Elliot's questions.

Elliot put his phone aside and looked at Ken in an aggressive way. He has met Ken on many occasions. He tried to invite him to join the student union. But Ken told him h wasn't interested. Elliot took that as an insult.

He heard Ken was arrogant and silent. He always had the poker face. It was impossible for others to read his mind based on his looks.

This wasn't Elliot's first basketball match with Ken. He admired his skills and brilliant dunking.

There weren't many Elliot hated and admired at the same time. Ken was one. He looked over at Catherine and got displeased. How could he not know he met her?

"Catherine, who do you think is hotter, Ken or Elliot?"

Catherine took a bite of burgers, "Ken."

"I don't think so."

"Well, I like Ken."

Catherine thought of Elliot as a boastful and childish man who enjoyed the attention. As a competitive man, he would never admit to being defeated.

Ken was different. He was a mature yet indifferent grown-up. Most important of all, Catherine tried to persuade Ken to work for him. So she thought Ken was a thousand times better than Elliot.

Elliot walked towards Ken and reached out his hands, "Hello again, Ken Hosk." Although Elliot used the most common words, both his look and tone were provocative and competitive.

Ken might not be a man of words, but he knew how to exchange trash talk. He held Elliot's hand firmly and said, "I shall be merciless in the game."

Elliot raised his eyebrows and said, "Let's see it."

Both shook harder. It looked casual, but they were competing with each other.

"Who do you think will win?"

"It's hard to see. They're both strong players."

Elliot took the first strike. He played harder, thinking to impress Catherine. He told himself he had to win the game and earn Ken's respect.

Many came to see the basketball match since the two famous guys in Kings College were playing. Catherine saw Pearl and Iris.

"It's Pearl. I'm surprised to see her here."

Catherine knew Iris liked Ken. As for Pearl, she must be here because of Ken's talent in design, like she did.

As far as Catherine knew, Pearl has been drumming up design majors. Any students with talent have promised to sign her company because Pearl promised them all kinds of things. As long as they graduated, they could go to Taylor Inwood to work as designers.

If Catherine could see Ken's talent, how could Pearl miss it?

Ken was an indifferent and proud man. Catherine wasn't sure he would be drawn to Pearl's promises. Or he would not work at an infamous company and led it to fame and prosperity.

But since Catherine was the legal owner of JJ Studio, she could negotiate with Ken.

"Bravo!"

Ethel was so excited, "That's a great ball. Ken is amazing."

Cecil said, "I heard Ken is especially good at dunking."

"12-4. We're winning."

Anna said, "Not necessarily. Elliot is cool too."

"Anna, you want Elliot to win?"

"I also want Ken to win. I'm so excited to see them play."

Catherine noticed Anna's guilty look and started wondering.

Elliot's strength was fast. He ran and dunked. Then he ran fingers through his hair in a hot way.

Students majoring in the computer stood up and cheered for Elliot. A lot of girls were charmed and stared at him.

But Elliot looked at Catherine like he was waiting for her compliment.

Catherine applauded because others did. She had no clue what was going on. Elliot's team scored two points.

"What a fascinating game. And I get to see two hot guys. I'm so happy." said Ethel.

"You're helpless, Ethel."

"I know other guys mean nothing to you since you're dating Professor Blair. But I don't have any boyfriends. So I get to drool over hot dudes."

"It's okay. Don't be bothered and keep looking."

Sean texted Catherine to see what she was doing.

Catherine sent him a photo of the game and a message which read "at the basketball match. Us versus computer majors. It's good."

"Do you like basketball?"

"I'm okay. But Ethel insisted the players were hot. So I came along."

"Which one?"

Catherine tagged Ken and Elliot.

"Are they hot to you?"

"It's okay."
