Chapter 659 - 246: That's A Terrible Influence

Sean made a subtle attempt at showing Catherine was his girlfriend in the calculus class, and everyone in the classroom felt it.

It seemed their relationship was stable. Students who came to Sean's class intended to see how embarrassed Catherine and Sean could be. But, they indirectly acknowledged the relationship and showed how sweet they could be, which was contrary to what the audience had in mind.

The way Sean looked at Catherine in class was so gentle. He turned into a kind and loving man. The picture of him with Catherine as they imagined was so lovely. Sean taught the girl he liked step by step with enough patience and detailed explanation. His voice was subtle and sweet. Catherine nodded, behaving like a good girl. Their interaction was in harmony, which was nothing out of sorts.

Besides, it was the 2020s century already. Professors could date students. And Professor Sean was so young and handsome. He was a perfect match for Catherine. Since the calculus class, this has become the prevailing opinion.

Of course, there were some who were particularly jealous of Catherine. As far as they were concerned, Catherine wasn't worthy of Sean, and they were wondering what Catherine had done to date, Sean. They didn't believe professors would normally go for freshmen.

"Is there anything baffling you?" asked Sean.

"Not I can think of at the moment," Catherine said.

"Okay. Let me know if there are any."Sean said.

"Okay." Catherine bent so lowly that her head was among the books. Although she has decided to confirm their relationship and make a grand gesture in front of everyone, she felt such a level of public affection was awkward. And Catherine suspected she would be torn apart by the jealous looks.

Sean couldn't help smiling, seeing how flinching Catherine was. It was as if Catherine was the one who said she didn't mind it at all, and the next second, she got blushed.

And others were swept off by Sean's feet and couldn't help fantasizing about a relationship with him.

Sean suddenly looked up since he realized something. He looked at the back row and withdrew the smile. He said coldly, "Whoever took the picture, please leave the classroom."

Sean continued, "I've said no photos in my class. Now please leave."

The girl tried to defend herself but was frightened by Sean's aggressive looks. Then she left the classroom in horror.

"I don't welcome students who have ulterior motives. Don't make me cancel your observing status."Sean said.

Others who were about to take a video put their phones away.

The bell rang, and Sean declared class dismissed. Some stayed a bit longer to see Sean. But Sean started packing up. She put all her books in one bag and handed it over to Ethel.

"Leave it. I'll take it later."Ethel said.

Calculus was the last class on Friday. Catherine's friends were so used to it that she didn't return to the dormitory. After all, Sean was with her. He would escort her.

"Thanks. I'll bring you gifts next week."Catherine said.

Ethel pinched her waist and said, "Catherine, stop giving us snacks as presents. I've gained weight."

"Don't worry. I'll bring low-calorie snacks. You won't get fat."Catherine said.

"I just gain weight no matter what I eat. Oddly, you eat as much as I do. But you're so slim." Ethel said.

Catherine patted Ethel's shoulder, saying, "Sorry. I'm born this way."

"Hey!" Ethel snapped. She was jealous of girls who could eat and didn't gain weight. Every time she asked a girl the secret to keeping slim, they would tell her they were born like this.

Then Ethel thought she wasn't born like them.

Sean didn't leave first. He waited for Catherine in the hall.

The second Catherine left the classroom, she saw Sean watching at her with a bright smile.

"Let's go," Sean said, reaching his hand to Catherine. His fingers were slender.

Catherine hesitated and said, "We're still on campus."

Sean held her hand firmly. Catherine could swear her heart stopped beating for one second when she felt the warmth.

She struggled but gave up in the end.

"Let's go home," Catherine said.

Sean held her with his right hand and her satchel with his left hand, oblivious of what others thought of them. They left the teaching building calmly.

There was gossip behind their backs.

"Isn't that Professor Sean? Is it Catherine he's holding?" One said.

"Gosh, that's crossing the line. This is a school. That's a terrible influence." Another said.

"It's one thing they started dating. But since their relationship is out, shouldn't they keep a low profile? Do they want everyone to know they are dating?"

"Do you know how Catherine became Sean's girlfriend?"

"I'm not sure. But they look like a match. Professor Sean is hot in a way beyond description. Catherine is beautiful. They make a cute couple."

"I don't think so. Maybe Catherine seduced Professor Sean. After all, she is pretty. And we live in an age where being pretty means everything."

"But Catherine is pretty and nice. Why can't Professor Sean choose her for being her? Maybe it is Sean that asked Catherine to go on a date first. You never know."

Some liked the idea of Sean and Catherine being together, while others didn't. Some admired what a cute couple Sean and Catherine made. Others were jealous and hateful, believing it couldn't last.

Catherine didn't get relieved after they left campus.

"It feels so strange being stared at," Catherine said.

"It's because you're so cute," Sean said.

"Sean, you know what it is."

Sean smiled and said, "You wanted to keep a high key. So we are letting everyone know we're dating."

"It's true. But it feels strange."

"Are you bothered that they stare at you?" asked Sean.

"Now they all know about us. Will you get fired?" asked Catherine. After all, the affair stained the school's reputation on some level.

"Nobody can fire me," Sean said. Unless Sean decided to quit, no one could let him go, not even the principal.

Catherine held back the urge to laugh, "So the principal couldn't do anything about you?"

After all, as the mayor's son, Sean had a certain influence.

"If he did, he'd better prepare for a resignation," Sean said.

"That's overbearing!" Catherine smiled, "Did you threaten the principal to get the job?"

The image of Sean threatening the principal with a chic coat suddenly occurred in Catherine's mind. It was funny.

"I didn't have to threaten him," Sean said. He offered to teach at Kings College, and the principal said yes right away and made him Professor Sean.

"Didn't the principal say anything about us?" asked Catherine.

"He wouldn't dare," Sean said.

It was only Sean and Catherine's business. Even if Sean's family didn't get a say in any of this, let alone others. Besides, it was nothing illegal.

"Don't over-think. What do you want for dinner?" asked Sean.

"How about steak?"

"Sounds great."
