Chapter 758 - 83: To Be A Male Secretary

From her look, the woman guessed her thoughts. She gave a sweet smile, then took the name badge and explained, "Mr. Thorne set this position because of you. He asked me to instruct you. Welcome, Mr. Thorne. You can call me Lisa."

"Nice to meet you, Lisa."

Angelo smiled lamely. Drake indeed tried hard to do her work in the company. But she didn't want to stay here.

"Now you have to learn about Drake's general preference. I've made them a list. You have to memorize them in two hours."

With that, Lisa gave Angelo so long a list that even surprised her. While she was taking over the list, her hands were trembling.

"I'll test you two hours later," said Lisa, winking at Angelo.

Angelo nodded and forced a smile.

Two hours was indeed a short time for memorizing such a long list. Luckily, Angelo used to learn scripts a lot. So, she mainly got the hang of the content.

Lisa walked to Angelo, raising her hand to check the time before talking to Angelo, "It's time to serve Mr. Thorne coffee, Angelo."

"Yeah," answered Angelo.

She thought Lisa would ask her about Drake's preferences, but she just asked her to do it.

At the tearoom, Angelo remembered the content on the list and went through the motions.

When the coffee was ready, Angelo brought it into the office. Looking at Drake's dedicated working profile, she thought about it and put it aside.

A few minutes later, "Coffee," demanded Drake.

Angelo served the coffee on his table at once.

Drake took the coffee and drank it, but then he frowned and put the coffee aside.

"It's cold," he said.

Hearing that, Angelo stayed. Then she picked up the coffee to get out when Lisa went in with a cup of coffee.

Angelo looked at Lisa with surprise. She thought about it and took the coffee to the secretary's office.

Bored, she fiddled with the papers in front of her. Suddenly, she felt the coldness of the aura beside her.

She realized something and pretended to work hard. Then she looked up at Drake with a smile.

"What's the matter, brother?"

Looking at Angelo, Drake's eyes darkened. Then he picked up the coffee on the table.

"Call me Mr. Thorne at the company. Do what you should do as a secretary."

After that, he drank up the coffee, put down the cup, and left.

Looking at the empty cup, Angelo was puzzled. She took the cup to the tearoom and mumbled in a low voice, "He complained the coffee is cold, but he drank it up. What a strange man!"

"Mr. Thorne is strange today. But a qualified secretary shouldn't talk about the boss behind his back."

It was Lisa's voice.

Angelo's move paused and then put the clean coffee cup on the cupholder.

"I see, Lisa."

"Let me acquaint you with the operation of the company and various departments."

As she spoke, she put the coffee cup on the table and turned to walk out. Angelo followed. When she glanced at the coffee, she found that it was full.

She was confused, but the files brought over by Lisa gave her no time to think about it. Looking at the files in a pile, she was so stressed.

"A qualified secretary should know the operating principles of each department so that you can prepare the doc.u.ments for the boss. Besides, you must keep Mr. Thorne's schedule in mind."

After that, Lisa clicked a file on the computer.

"This is his schedule this month. It would be best if you memorized it as soon as possible. As for other files, you should finish reading them in a week."

"All right."

Angelo sorted out the files, which looked like a hill, and felt sad.

"Come on! I know you can do it."

Lisa showed a posture of hardwork to Angelo and then walked out of the office beautifully. Looking at her back, Angelo could only pluck herself up.

Then she thought of the audition in the afternoon. Hurriedly, she opened the file to check Drake's schedule.

After a quick scan, Angelo cheered up because she found that Drake was out at work every afternoon from two to five.

"Thank god!"

Angelo couldn't help rolling herself on the chair. Then she took out the phone, found Daisy's number and dialed it.

"Well, Angelo, what time is it?"

"Drake will go out from two to five. So you have to get here before two. Thanks."

"All right. I'll wait for you in the coffee shop. I'll send you the address later."

After that, Angelo hung up. When she memorized Drake's schedule of this day, she picked up the file to read.

A few hours later, Angelo stopped and rubbed her neck tiredly. She finally understood why Drake make her be his secretary.

Of all the positions, except the CEO, the secretary position was required to know the company's operation as soon as possible. Besides, the secretary had access to the most confidential doc.u.ments.

"Come on!"

Angelo gave herself a pep talk and then buried herself in the pile of doc.u.ments again. As time passed, Lisa came over.

"It's lunchtime. Mr. Thorne let you eat in his office," said Lisa.

"Yeah."

Angelo put down the file and stood up to leave when Lisa spoke again, "It's good to read these files carefully, but you should also do a good job as a secretary."

Hearing that, Angelo realized that she had been reading the files the whole morning and felt embarrassed.

"Yeah," she quickly answered.

When she got to Drake's office, she winched. Looking at Drake's serious face, she felt uneasy.

She forced a smile and said, "Brother, oh, no, Mr. Thorne. I'm just an employee here, so I'd better eat at the staff canteen."

Then she was about to leave.

"You just eat here."

She heard Drake saying that.

Finally, she sighed with resignation and sat opposite Drake. She wondered if it was because she had been his secretary. She always felt that Drake was oppressed.

Quickly, she finished her lunch and then put down her fork and spoon, "I'm done, Mr. Thorne. Excuse me." Then she walked out before Drake answered.
