Chapter 770 - 95: Make Good Preparation

"Thanks, Lisa. I'll treat you to dinner as my thanks," said Angelo with a smile.

She didn't think too much, just felt glad that she was not exposed because of Lisa.

"All right," answered Lisa with a smile, too. Then she went out.

Angelo turned on the computer and started to prepare for the files needed at the meeting.

Just then, the phone in the office rang. Angelo hurried to pick it up.

"Come to my office now," ordered Drake.

"All right, Mr. Thorne," answered Angelo, though she was puzzled inside. She had worked here for a while and had been used to her identity as a secretary.

After knocking at the door gently, Angelo entered Drake's office. Drake was working, and he looked so serious and dedicated. Somehow, Angelo thought of the misunderstanding just now. There was a hint of embarrassment on her face.

But soon, she calmed down.

"What do you want me for, Mr. Thorne?" she asked respectively.

Hearing that, Drake frowned slightly. Angelo had already become a qualified secretary as he expected, but he felt irritated when he heard the alienated tone.

He suppressed the bad mood, put down the contract, and knocked at the table.

"Clear my schedule for tomorrow and the following ten days."

"Why?"

After asking that out, Angelo realized that she now, as a secretary, shouldn't ask but only obey the orders from her boss. She closed her mouth at once and was more puzzled.

The crew was on holiday now, and Drake didn't need to go to the site. There was nothing to be surprised about if he was required to schedule his afternoon for something else. But he wanted to cancel all his arrangements, which she couldn't understand.

Was the company in crisis, and Drake wanted to run away? She guessed randomly.

As a secretary, she saw the financial statements, but she didn't see anything wrong. On yesterday, they bid on a newly built resort.

"You accompany me to the resort to get acquainted with the situation there," said Drake, seeming to see through Angelo's confusion.

Angelo then understood it. The resort was newly built, so it was reasonable for Drake to inspect it himself, although he didn't need to do that in person.

She nodded and kept it in mind. While she was about to leave, Drake said, "Grandma will be there, too. So, make good preparations."

Angelo had asked him about the missing pages of the file about the Watts's, and he could tell that she really wanted them, so he kept it in his mind.

By this inspection, he invited the old lady to the resort. If Angelo wanted to get the missing part of the file, she had to make a try.

Angelo's face lit up at Drake's words. She wanted to get the pages to prove her identity, which would help with her revenge. As she thought of Ivy's arrogance, she clenched her fists.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yeah."

Drake had noticed every change on her face. He answered and glanced at her with inquiry in his eyes.

He had sensed that Angelo was covering something from him. Since she didn't want to tell him, he had to find it out himself.

When Angelo heard the positive answer from Drake, she started to think about it. But Corrine didn't like her. Thinking of that, she was frustrated.

But still, she believed that she could please the old lady and get the pages. So, there was confidence in her eyes.

"Thanks, Drake."

She thanked Drake and then left the office. But in her heart, she was puzzled. Corrine had been staying at her old house, why did she suddenly go to the resort?

She didn't care much about it, so she didn't think much. The thing she should think now was how to please the old lady and get the pages.

When she got back to her office, she canceled Drake's schedule for the following eleven days.

Just then, Lisa came in and happened to see her proficient operation. She was satisfied. Obviously, Angelo was a qualified secretary now.

But as the sixth young master of the Thorne, Angelo couldn't always work as a secretary. Thinking of that, Lisa felt a little lost.

She knew it would happen sooner or later. But when the day came, she didn't want Angelo to leave.

When Angelo finished working, she turned and saw Lisa. She smiled with the inquiry in her eyes.

"What's the matter, Lisa? Is there any problem with my work?"

"No, it's not like that. Mr. Thorne just inform me that you don't need to be the secretary anymore."

Angelo, however, stayed when she heard that. She thought for a while but couldn't think of anything she did wrong. So, why?

Just now, Drake asked her to prepare to go to the resort… Thinking of that, she had a thought in her mind.

From Angelo's face, Lisa knew that she might have guessed the reason. She nodded and smiled.

"Congratulations, Angelo! You must have known about the resort acquisition, do you? Mr. Thorne asked me to inform you that you'll be in charge of the resort."

Hearing that, Angelo had her eyes twitched. Sure enough, Drake wanted to train her. But she was still a new man at work now. Angelo thought he was hasty.

No matter what she was thinking, she still answered, "I see."

Anyway, she could get rid of this position now. So, she was glad.

Every time she thought of her doing a woman's job in a man's appearance, she felt suffocated. Although no one judged her because of her identity as the sixth young master of the Thorne, she was still uncomfortable.

"Alas, I'll be busy."

Lisa sighed, giving a sad face to Angelo. With Angelo here, she did have a relaxed working time these days.

"But don't forget your promise: treat me to dinner," she added.

Angelo hurriedly nodded and patted her c.h.e.s.t, saying, "Don't worry. I won't forget. I'll treat you when I'm available."

Hearing that, Lisa smiled and took over the file from Angelo.

She gave a hating look and joked, "Since you're not a secretary anymore, you can leave now. You'll disturb my work here."

Of course, Angelo knew she was kidding and didn't mind her words.
