Chapter 813 - 138: They Have Published Your Identity

Drake bent over a bit and looked straight at Angelo.

"Still want to break off the engagement?" he asked.

The voice was low and deep. There was no change in his expression, but his eyes were bright.

The direct threat didn't bring much impact on Angelo. On the contrary, it flirted with Angelo's heart. The affections she tried to bury came out in the eyes of Drake.

Her face was redder, and she felt it was burning. She was so anxious that she grabbed the file and ran out. It was not until she reached the gate that she stopped.

Her heart was racing, which she comforted herself because of the fast running rather than Drake.

Breeze came. In the yard, the leaves on the tree made a sound. Angelo looked up and felt calmer.

It couldn't be because of him! She said to herself in the heart.

In the study…

Through the window, Drake watched Hale send Angelo out. His eyes were deep and complicated.

When he heard Angeline say "break off the engagement," he was pissed off, which made him realize that he fell in love with her.

Seeing Angeline get far, in a minute, Drake seemed to see… Angelo?!

He clenched his fist, trying to calm himself down and suppress the overwhelming affections.

***

When Angelo got back to Green, she felt so tired, her body and mind, that she threw herself onto the bed.

She just went to get a file. How come it developed into a situation, she couldn't even control?

When she thought of Drake kissed her… she shook her head, trying to get rid of the mess in her mind.

She couldn't think about it anymore. She didn't want her face to burn again.

When Angelo was struggling in her mind, her phone rang.

It was from Daisy. "Hello," said Angelo weakly.

"What's the matter?" asked Daisy.

"Things change. Let's just drop it," sighed Angelo.

Daisy was pleased by her tone. Then she thought of what she called for.

"Oh, you made me forget the business. So, what's wrong with the news? Have you got the file?"

Angelo stayed, "What news?"

"You don't know? They have published your identity on the news!"

As soon as Angelo hung up, she opened the newspaper. The headline was the big, bold words: Angelo Watts was confirmed as the blood of the Watts family.

When Angelo read it, she found that it was Drake who told it to the media one hour ago. She had just left the Thorne house at that time. So, Drake did act quickly.

She scanned more, feeling like missing something but couldn't think of it.

When she looked at the file on the table, it suddenly reminded her of it.

There was nothing about her engagement with Drake on the news.

She sat straight at once, scanned the news again, and then confirmed that there was nothing about the engagement.

In silence, Angelo sat on the bed still, feeling like falling into a valley.

After a while, she suddenly realized that she was against the engagement, so why did she feel sad?

She patted her face, cheered herself up, and called Clarence to explain the file and the engagement.

"You mean you got engaged with Drake after you were born?" asked Clarence weirdly.

Angelo didn't think much about his words because she was very surprised when she learned the news.

"Right, our parents made the decision. So, that's it."

Angelo sighed inside if she could get the file earlier when she was bravely pursuing Drake.

"… Hello, Angeline? Are you there?"

Angelo suddenly came back from her thinking. Clarence had been talking, but she was lost in thought and missed it.

"Yeah. I'm here. What did you say just now?" replied Angelo.

Clarence had to repeat the words he had just said, "The best actress award was near, you need more exposure. Since you got the file about the Watts family, I'll hold a press conference for you tomorrow, you know what you should do."

While saying that, Clarence had been trying to suppress something. Angelo couldn't see his face but knew that he did that for her, so she thanked him, "Thank you, Mr. Wilson. I'll do my best tomorrow."

She would not only do it well but also embarrass the whole family of Ivy. The press confession was just the start of her revenge.

She clenched her fist, trying to calm her breath. The phone was on, she didn't want Clarence to hear the change of her emotions.

"Clarence…"

"Angeline…"

Suddenly, they spoke at the same time. Angelo wanted to say goodbye to Clarence, but now it seemed that he hadn't finished his talk.

"What's the matter, Mr. Wilson?"

Clarence struggled for a moment, but he finally let out a breath and smiled.

"Nothing. Good night. See you tomorrow."

"Yeah. See you tomorrow, Clarence."

When Angelo hung up, she found that it was almost eleven o'clock. It was indeed a long day that she almost forgot the time.

After taking a shower, she went to bed. Maybe she was too tired that she soon fell asleep.

While she was sleeping, some people stayed awake.

At midnight, the lights in the Watts family were still on.

When Ivy came back home, she saw her parents sitting in the living room. That was strange. They should be sleeping at this time.

She walked to them and asked, "Why don't you go to bed, dad, mom?"

The father looked grave. Then she looked towards her mother.

"Clarence informed all the media to have a press conference tomorrow morning," the mother sounded heavier.

Ivy didn't understand it. What was wrong with the press conference? Clarence often did that.

But the following words of the mother shocked her.

"Angeline, an actress of his company, got the file about the Watts family. Tomorrow, she will announce it at the press conference."

Ivy paused, couldn't believe what she had just heard.

"How is that possible? She couldn't get the file. Why did Clarence hold the press conference for her?"

A series of questions came out from her, but there were no answers.

Her father hadn't spoken a word. Just then, he glanced at her and shook his head helplessly.

"It seems that you haven't heard of it. Drake had posted it on the news this afternoon. Tomorrow, Angeline might use the file to prove it."
