Chapter 845 - 170: Suffered A Big Crisis

Drake looked back at her and felt a little helpless, "I have to go to the company to deal with something."

"Yeah…"

Angelo nodded. Drake must have delayed a lot of work because of her.

Later, Aiken came. The driver sent Drake to the company. Following Drake's words, Angelo had breakfast before going to the hospital.

McCoy had woken up but looked weird.

He didn't wear his mask now. The nurse in charge of him acted quickly. She might not want to see the scary face, so she hurried out right after she finished checking his body.

Angelo sat on the bed and looked at McCoy. He looked so depressed that there was no light in his eyes.

"McCoy?" asked Angelo tentatively. Then McCoy turned to her slowly and said a few words in silence.

Angelo got it and looked at Aiken, "Thank you, Aiken. I'll be with him here. You can take a rest."

Aiken hadn't taken a rest since he received a call from Drake yesterday. And now, he was still not going to rest. But he could tell that they wanted to be alone. So, he said, "I'll wait outside. Call me if you need anything."

After that, Aiken turned to leave the ward.

When the door was closed, Angelo's eyes met McCoy's. She said, "He's my brother's assistant. Yes, he's smart."

Aiken chose to leave because he guessed that McCoy wanted to talk with Angelo alone and didn't want anyone else to hear it.

"What's happened?" asked Angelo. The gauze on McCoy's neck was so sharp to her. She would not have come to visit him now if it hadn't been for that the doctor said his wound wasn't quite serious.

McCoy reached out his hand, a white pill lying on it.

Angelo frowned, "What's this?"

"The nurse gave it to me just now, saying that it was a painkiller."

"Painkiller?" Angelo was confused. Doctors wouldn't suggest patients eat painkillers hadn't it because they suffered serious pain.

Just now, the doctor said that McCoy was much better and could leave the hospital when the wound recovered in a few days. And from McCoy's look, he didn't seem to need painkillers.

"Check it. It can't be a painkiller," said McCoy, handing the pill to Angelo.

Angelo didn't know things about medicine, but McCoy seemed to know it well. Otherwise, he wouldn't save it.

"The Watts group suffered a big crisis. Parker wanted to use my parents' heritage to make up for the loss. I refused. So, he wants to kill me. Fortunately, Stella appeared on time. Otherwise, I would have died now."

Angelo knew that Parker must be worried about the company. That was why he tried to kill McCoy. But there was one thing that surprised Angelo more.

"Stella saved you?" she asked, looking at him.

McCoy nodded, "But she was so scared that she might not know what was going on."

"Yeah." She thought of Stella's anxious look yesterday and wondered if she could tell things clearly.

"But…" Angelo suddenly thought of another thing, "At the Watts house yesterday, a policeman said that there were only fingerprints of Stella. Why?"

Did Parker set up the game in advance in case McCoy refuses him?

"That knife was not the murder weapon. Stella just used it to peel apples, so there were only fingerprints of hers. The real weapon was brought away by Parker," explained McCoy, then he frowned.

Angelo quickly realized that the talk must have affected the wound on his neck.

"All right, I got it. The last question." Angelo stood up and seriously looked at McCoy, "Were Ivy and Rachel involved in it?"

McCoy shook his head gently. They did know nothing about the company. When the incident happened yesterday, they did go for a facial. They continued their luxury life because they knew nothing about their finances now.

When Angelo got out of the ward, she handed the pill to Aiken.

Besides Drake's men, she couldn't trust anyone else. Even the nurses in the hospital could be paid to serve medicals, who else couldn't be bribed?

Aiken went to check the pill and Angelo went to the nurse department. She wanted to find the one who sent McCoy medicals but was told that there was no such person.

Standing there, Angelo felt so cold. She suddenly understood why that nurse left so quickly after she'd finished checking McCoy. It wasn't McCoy's ugly face that scared her. She was just afraid of exposing herself. That was why she left after giving him the pill.

Back to the ward, Angelo felt so tired, both her body and mind. It was the first time she faced such a scary thing since she came back to life.

The Watts group was down. But Parker had many contacts after so many years. With his cruel character, he just wouldn't let it go easily.

Angelo didn't know what he would do next. There were already two fake nurses out of nowhere, and they both disappeared after finishing their tasks.

Aiken handled the first blood pack thing. McCoy saw through the second medical issue. Then what about the next one?

Angelo couldn't imagine what things would go. McCoy didn't hurt badly, which was why Parker wanted him to die.

Sitting near the door of the ward, she vigilantly looked at everyone who passed her.

At noon, two policemen came, asking McCoy about yesterday's incident.

Angelo followed them into the ward. Even she felt that she was crazy because she doubted that they might be the ones sent by Parker.

Luckily, everything went well. The policemen called the police station and asked them to find Parker.

Just then, Aiken came back with the analysis of the drug.

As McCoy thought, it was not a painkiller. There was an ingredient of meperidine, which could cause hallucinations.

Angelo was suddenly scared. If McCoy didn't notice the problem of the pill, he might have.

After the recording, they arranged for two police officers here to ensure McCoy's safety. After all, from all these things, anyone could tell that McCoy was in danger.

"It's time for lunch, Mr. Angelo."
