Chapter 850 - 175: I Wouldn’t Have Taken It

But she couldn't kill. She couldn't become a person like Ivy and her family.

Corrine went to go to bed after the talk. Angelo walked to the door of her room while thinking.

Just now, Corrine said that she would not allow anyone to bully Angelo because she was one of the Thorne since she joined the family.

So, Corrine meant to help her.

But…

Angelo was confused. She wanted to take back the property for Angelo, the owner of this body. Meanwhile, she got her revenge.

Then, to her surprise, McCoy took over the Watts family. It seemed to be part of Parker's plan, but he had tried to kill McCoy.

Was that his plan B? If McCoy didn't die, he would reveal the things Parker had done. Parker gave the property to McCoy to protect Rachel and Ivy. After all, McCoy had a tremendous legacy, which could help the Watts group survive the crisis.

In McCoy's character, he would undoubtedly agree with the deal. And once he made a promise, he wouldn't go back on his word.

If so, how could she get back the Watts group? The more Angelo thought about it, the more upset she was.

"Why don't you go in?"

Drake's words suddenly sounded. It stunned Angelo, and even her body trembled.

She turned to him and stammered, "Oh, Drake. I… I was thinking about something."

"About the Watts?" Drake saw through her thoughts.

Angelo didn't deny and nodded heavily.

"I underestimated McCoy. He should have some ability since he could support the Watts group for so long."

The Watts group started to decline twenty years ago. McCoy had been trying to save it without being noticed, which Angelo did admire.

"Are you going to take back the Watts group for Angeline?" asked Drake.

Angelo stayed. Helping Angeline was helping herself. She didn't want to live the rest of her life as a man. "Angelo" should leave someday, and she would live as Angeline after that.

But she has to have strong support to avoid the incident that happened in her previous life. The Watts group was her best choice, as well as her right choice with her identity.

"Yeah. My sister should have support in case there's an incident," said Angelo. The sarcasm flashed through her eyes.

"Good night!"

After saying that, she was about to enter her bedroom.

"Angeline is your sister. You're the Thorne. Can't she rely on the Thorne?" Drake sounded to suppress something.

But Angelo was annoyed, "I don't think so."

She sounded unhappy. It was the first time she talked in this way to Drake.

"You ended the engagement casually. I'm just an adoptive kid of the Thorne. Will you abandon me at will?"

There were tears in her eyes, but she said roughly and self-mockingly.

Angelo knew her words might annoy Drake, but she continued, "I can't gamble with my sister's fate. After all, you change at will…"

Bang!

Drake suppressed her against the wall before she finished her words. She felt like her shoulder broke.

"In your eyes, I'm that kind of person, am I?"

His breath fell on Angelo's face. There were less than four inches between them.

Angelo raised her head to look at him, and her heart started to race. But soon, she thought of abandoning. She took a deep breath and said in a trembling voice, "Aren't you?"

Drake's face suddenly changed and looked scary. Angelo couldn't help trembling, thinking that she would be screwed and might die here because Drake must be mad at her.

However, to her surprise, Drake retreated the next moment.

"All right, Angelo."

Rarely, there was a change on his straight face.

He smiled.

Then footsteps sounded. Drake left.

Angelo felt weak in her legs. Slowly, she collapsed on the floor. What happened? She scolded Drake!?

She had been displeased with him for breaking off the engagement. So, she shouted at him as Angelo.

Angelo went to the police station early in the morning to avoid meeting Drake. Otherwise, it would be very awkward.

Angelo saw Parker, who looked nothing different except for the stubble on his face.

They sat opposite with steel bars in between. Not far away, a policeman was standing there watching them. Parker opened his mouth to say something but couldn't utter it.

Yesterday, Palmer said he had ruined Parker's throat. Now she noticed that there was a bruise on Parker's neck. The bruise was black, seeming quite serious.

"What do you want?" asked Angelo directly.

Even though Parker couldn't speak, he had other ways to tell others her identity.

She couldn't let him do that. If others knew it, she couldn't switch her identity back, and her secret of dressing as a man might even be exposed.

Parker grinned. Angelo couldn't tell if he was laughing or crying. Then he picked up the pen on the table and wrote something on the paper: Ivy.

Angelo understood him at once. Parker made McCoy save Ivy, and now he wanted Angelo to stop being against her.

Angelo had no other choice but to agree.

Outside the police station, the sun was up. Angelo squinted and felt cold. The coldness was through her whole body.

She went to the hospital again but learned that McCoy had been released from the hospital last night and would recuperate at home.

At the Watts House.

With a mask on his face, McCoy faced several significant shareholders.

After reading the financial statements, he looked at them, "The account is not right. There are full of loopholes. Didn't Parker check them before?"

"These accounts are based on the facts. You have just taken over the company. It's nothing if you don't know them," said one shareholder proudly. He looked down on McCoy.

He was not the only one. Others had the same thoughts as him. After all, the Watts group was just a cell now. They wouldn't have been here if it hadn't been for Drake's arrangement.

"Yeah. I don't know. Otherwise, I wouldn't have taken it."
