Chapter 870 - 195: The Truth?

"I…" Angelo paused, didn't know how to answer him. Meanwhile, she couldn't understand why Drake keep her at home?

She looked away from Drake and said with the guilty, "I'm a grown-up, Drake. I'm not a little kid. I don't think I should report to you before going out."

Drake remained silent for a while. Just as Angelo thought he would let it go, he suddenly said, "I won't restrain you from going out. But you have to tell me the truth."

Angelo stayed. The truth?

He might have driven her out of the house if she told him the truth.

She thought about it for a while. Suddenly, McCoy's words sounded in her mind. She gritted her teeth and said, "I went to the Watts house. McCoy has promised me to keep a position for Angeline. I went to supervise him."

Angeline was her. Drake wouldn't know she was lying. What she needed to do now was to make Drake believe it.

"A position?" Drake couldn't understand it. Angelo nodded at once and said, "My sister is one of the Wattss. She should take a position in the Watts group. So, I…"

While talking, she thought of Drake purchasing the Watts group thing mentioned by McCoy. She glanced at Drake and wanted to ask him if it was real, but she didn't know how to ask.

After all, McCoy got the Watts group now. Angelo couldn't imagine how he fought it back from Drake's hand.

"If so, you can just tell. It's not something to be ashamed of." After saying that, Drake glanced over Angelo, got up, and went back to his room.

Angelo smoothed her c.h.e.s.t. She was so nervous about lying in front of Drake. She had been worrying that Drake would reveal her.

But from Drake's attitude just now, he should believe her.

The next morning, Angelo left the Thorne house and went to the shooting site.

Just as she arrived at the studio, she sensed that the atmosphere didn't seem to be right. Far away, a group of people gathering together with a man in the middle.

The man was very tall. Angelo could see the back of his head, which she felt familiar with but couldn't think of who he was.

Just then, Clarence walked over and greeted her, "Morning, Angeline."

"Good morning, Clarence. Who's that?" Angelo pointed in the direction of the man.

Clarence smiled, "I haven't introduced you to him. Come with me."

With that, he walked to the group. Angelo followed him.

"Mr. McCoy, this is our heroine, Angeline Watts." While Clarence started to talk, the group cleared a way, and Angelo saw the man's face.

"McCoy?" Angelo couldn't help uttering, with disbelief full of her voice.

"Oh, I almost forgot it. Angeline just entered the Watts pedigree. You are a family of Mr. McCoy, are you?" joked Clarence, trying to make the atmosphere active. Angelo smiled politely. Somehow, she felt that the look of people's eyes changed while looking at her.

"I heard a lot about you, Miss Angeline. I'm expecting your show in this movie."

The mask covered McCoy's face; only his eyes were exposing. Now, there were affections full of his eyes.

Angelo didn't know how to react except for smiling, "What are you doing here?"

"Mr. McCoy invested in our movie. He came to inspect the work here," explained Clarence.

Angelo understood it and sighed inside that McCoy indeed had a large sum of money. The Watts family and group all suffered a significant loss, but she still had money to invest in the movie.

Angelo couldn't understand him. He must be hiding something. What he showed now couldn't be the whole of him.

The shooting finished soon in the morning. McCoy had been staying in the shooting site. When Clarence claimed the work was done, people all went to have lunch.

Just as Angelo was going to the lounge, McCoy came to her and said, "How about having lunch together? It's on me."

Angelo looked around. People all looked at them complicatedly.

She refused, "No, thanks. I want to eat with them." After saying that, she walked away.

People didn't know she had broken off her engagement to Drake. If she ate with the investor, people would gossip about her.

However, when she walked to the lounge. There was nothing on the table. Her assistant used to place her food there at this time.

"Why are you back, Angeline?" the assistant was surprised to see her back.

Angelo didn't follow her, "Or where should I go?"

"Mr. McCoy said he would eat with you. So, I didn't prepare lunch for you," explained the assistant confusedly.

Angelo understood everything.

At this point, someone knocked at the door. Angelo turned back and saw McCoy standing there.

"I've booked a restaurant. It's not far from here."

"Thank you, Mr. McCoy," said the assistant. Then she walked to Angelo and pushed her, hinting her to go.

Angelo could only go with McCoy.

At this time, there weren't many people outside. People either went for lunch or took a rest.

The restaurant was near the shooting site and had high privacy.

"You switched like that, aren't you afraid to be discovered?" asked McCoy suddenly during lunch.

"Yeah. But I have no choice."

McCoy raised his eyebrows and looked at Angelo, thinking about something.

Angelo ignored him and ate there. She needed energy for the two crucial shootings in the afternoon.

In the middle of the meal, Drake suddenly called.

Angelo drank some water and cleared her throat before answering the phone, "Hello, Drake."

"Are you in the Watts house?"

"Yeah." Angelo felt guilty. But Drake didn't ask her more but said, "Did you have lunch?"

"I'm…" Before Angelo could finish her words, McCoy took her phone away. She looked up and found McCoy standing near her.

"Don't worry, Mr. Drake. I will treat Angelo well," he said to the phone.

Angelo couldn't help widening her eyes. Then she tried to take her phone back, but McCoy grabbed her arm.

Drake seemed to say something on the phone, and McCoy laughed.

"Although Angelo is the adoptive son of the Thorne family, she has the Watts's blood. No matter where she is, she's still a member of the Watts family."
