Chapter 879 - 204: Can You Tell Me Angelo’s Number?

He approached her and whispered, "You must be wondering why Mr. Thorne is here, are you?"

Angelo was confused, but she pretended to give no care about it.

"No."

"No?" Clarence giggled, didn't believe her.

"Then why do you keep staring at him?"

"I…"

"Don't worry. I know what you are thinking about," Clarence gave Angelo no chance to explain.

"Drake comes with us because he came to one of our investors a few days ago. So, our crew has so much money now. Or why do you think there is no one else except for our people in this lounge?"

Angelo stayed and understood everything now.

"Did Drake book a flight?" Always Clarence nodded to confirm her guess.

Cindy couldn't help widening her eyes. It was the first time she saw such a generous investor.

No wonder they called the investor "daddy"!

"Why did he suddenly invest in such a movie?"

As Angelo remember, McCoy used to be the only investor in this movie.

Usually, an investor decided to invest in a movie before the movie started, and no investors would put money in it halfway through the filming.

"Drake is one of the largest shareholders of Glamor, and you are an artist under Glamor. Absolon had harassed you before, didn't he? So Drake invested in the movie to safeguard you."

There was remorse in Clarence's tone. He would never have involved Angelo in it had he known what kind of person Absolon was. Now that the shooting is halfway, no one could shut it down. Luckily, Drake invested in it to protect Angelo.

"Oh? I thought Drake invested in it for Christina. It turned out that he did that for Angeline!" said Cindy with pride. If Clarence told the truth, then Angelo did get over Christina.

At this point, a boarding warning came from the broadcast.

"Even without his help, no man can force me to sleep with him!" Angelo then walked to the departure gate.

Cindy dropped the topic in time and followed Angelo up.

Christina saw Angelo leaving and complained, "Isn't that Angelo? Why doesn't she greet us? You invested so much because of her." But Drake didn't say anything. He invested in the movie and didn't mean to get something.

When they got on the plane, Christina was surprised to find that Drake sat next to Angelo with so many empty seats around. As a lady, she had to keep her manner, which didn't affect her play tricks.

"Hand me the script," said Christina to her assistant, who took a thick, marked script to her from the bag.

Then she walked to Angelo and said, "Angeline, here are some spots I'm not quite sure. Can you tell me something about it?"

Christina knew how devoted Angelo was, and she knew Drake admired hardworking people. That was why she changed her plan and giving up her old tricks.

As she expected, Angelo got up and said, "All right. Let's talk over there."

The flight had not started yet, so Angelo switched her seat.

She had planned to switch her seat with others but gave up when considering that it might seem impolite.

Now she got a reason to do that and made Angelo stay away from Drake.

After Angelo finished talking with Christina about the script, the flight had got on air when Aiken came to them and said, "Miss Angeline, Mr. Thorne needs to talk to you. Can you please go to him when you finish talking?"

When he finished his words, Angelo stayed, as Christina.

Christina planned to sit next to Drake later, but she didn't expect that Drake would make Aiken invite Angeline.

Was what she did in vain?

"I think we can talk about it when we get off. It's too troublesome to switch," Angelo refused politely.

But Aiken said slowly, "Mr. Thorne needs to negotiate a contract with his partner when we arrived and won't have much time to delay, so how about you go to him right now, Miss Angeline?"

Angelo didn't know how to refuse and could only loosen her safety belt and walked to Drake.

"What's the matter?"

Standing in the aisle, Angelo looked at Drake and didn't plan to sit down.

"Sit down!" said Drake.

Angelo didn't move. "Just go ahead. I have to go back to Christina to talk about the script."

Just as she finished her words, an air hostess came over and politely warned, "Miss, the plane is in flight. For your safety, please go back to your seat and wear your safety belt in case any incident happens."

Since the air hostess said that, Angelo could only do it. Reluctantly, she sat next to Drake. But in her heart, she doubted that Drake paid the hostess.

When she fastened her safety belt, Drake slowly said, "You will spend a long time with Absolon. If he doesn't behave himself, don't endure, just tell me."

Angelo clenched her fists. Drake's concern suddenly broke the peace in her heart. But she tried to calm herself down when she thought of her condition now.

"Thank you, Mr. Thorne. I'll be careful. You don't bother to worry about me," said Angelo in an alienated tone, as if it was a stranger sitting next to him.

Drake looked towards her with a helpless look in his eyes. "You mean I shouldn't interfere in your issue, should I?"

After that, they both became silent. Angelo couldn't stand it. As she was about to get up when Drake continued, "Can you tell me Angelo's number?"

"What?"

For a moment, Angelo doubted if she heard it wrong. Drake repeated his words patiently.

He had asked people to check Angelo's number, the one he was using right now. But the next day he got it, the number became invalid. Drake knew Angelo was avoiding him.

One of the most important reasons he came to France was to meet Angelo. That was why he asked Angeline about Angelo's number.

Angelo wouldn't cut off the connection with his sister, Drake thought.

After a moment, Angelo got Drake. Finally, she told Drake the number McCoy made for her as a cover.
