In the end Liz could not manage to get sick that fast.

Forenoon

*knocking sounds*

"Come in." said Liz.

Lilly then entered the bedchamber.

"Eleanor the crown prince of Mazeldovia is waiting for you outside in a carriage." Lilly informed in a soft voice.

After hearing Lilly's notification Liz an excellent idea popped up in Liz's mind.

Liz leaned back and said leisurely:

"Just let him wait a little bit longer."

She especially stressed the adverb little.

"B-but Eleanor." Lilly tried to persuade her.

"Look, just tell him that I want to look good for our date. And what shall become good takes time. He would understand. Afterall, I do it for our sake." Liz said confidently.

"Yes, Eleanor then I will retire now."

Lilly bowed and left the bedchamber.

'You want to have a date with me? Sure, I will let you experience the worst date in your life.' Liz thought and her lips hooked up into a mischievous smile.

While Ares was waiting for a whole five hours, Liz took a lot of time to prepare herself.

First of all, she took a nice long relaxing bath.

Afterwards, she was looking for the perfect outfit for the date.

Then she tried out different hairstyles, but in the end she decided for her normal open hairstyle

and last but not least she put on light makeup.

When Eleanor was done Ares already waited for her outside with a calm expression.

'Strange should not his expression be more like incensed. Afterall, he waited five hours for me.' echoed in Liz's mind.

Lost in thoughts Ares grabbed one of her hands, kissed it lightly and said in a seductive tone:

"You look as lovely as ever. It definitely was worth waiting for you."

'Here we go again with his corny lines.'

Thereupon, Liz could only roll her eyes.

"Don't hurt those enchanting eyes of yours." Ares said in a concerning tone while he gently caressed her cheeks.

Liz was petrified and then retreated.

"Why do you always have to be so touchy towards me?!" Liz snapped at him with piercing eyes.

Suddenly, Ares inched his face to Liz's ear and whispered:

"Because I am addicted to you. You are like a drug to me. I can't get enough of you. Furthermore, in the future we will be doing more vigorous activities than that."

As he finished his he blew in her ear.

Liz turned crimson red because of his shamelessness.

Amused by her reaction Ares stretched his hand out to guide her to the carriage.

After her shock tremendously subsided, she accepted his hand only to squeeze it extremely hard.

However, his reaction was not what Liz's expected.

His expression remained unfazed.

" You don't have to worry to get lost today. I will not let go of your hand." Ares assured her.

'He think's I squeezed his hand because I was scared to get lost? Does he think I am a scared child?!'.

Not knowing that his assurance just continued to rage her inner fire both of them then entered the carriage.

After the carriage began to move Liz asked Ares while staring at the window:

"How did you know it was me at the masked ball back then?"

Hearing her question his lips curved into a smile.

"There is only one woman who has such beautiful long slight wavy brown hair with a slight red tone and such mesmerizing emerald green eyes." Ares answered.

"You sure have a honey mouth." Liz responded in a flat tone.

[A/N: honey mouth: Someone who is sweet talking]

"You don't have to be jealous. I am only complimenting my soon to be bride." Ares replied with an amused smile.

'In which corner of your eye did you see me jealous?!'

Liz then massaged her temples.

Dealing with this shameless guy was really tiresome.

However, after hearing his confession her heart felt lighter.

The carriage stopped at the bazar of Mazeldovia.

Before Liz could step out Ares grabbed her wrist.

"What?!" Liz asked with an annoyed expression.

"You should wear this." Ares paused and handed her a light blue cape.

"Unless you want to draw unnecessary attention. I will be wearing this dark blue cape. " Ares continued.

"Thanks." uttered Liz with a half-hearted smile while snatching the cape away from his hands.

As both of them entered the bazar they heard someone shouting angrily:

"Beat this little thief to death!"

Thereafter, Ares and Liz spotted a little boy with platinum blonde hair, light brown eyes and white skin like jade. He was covered in bruises and his lip was swollen.

Witnessing this injustice Liz flared up in anger.

She walked towards the man and asked in a demanding voice:

"What happened here?".

Seeing the covered lady who emitted a murderous aura he felt a chill in his spine.

However, he tried to stay firm and said with an angered voice:

"This little thief tried to steal my pastries he deserves a good beating."

Liz scrunched her eyebrows into a frown while her lips curled into a sneer.

"How much does this little fella owe you?" Liz asked indifferently.

"2 bronze coins." replied the man.

"Good, I will give you 30 gold coins. From now on this little fella is your most honoured guest and you will serve him for an eternity!"

The eyes of the man were filled with disbelief.

Liz did not look like someone wealthy.

When Liz was about to take the money out of her purse, Ares already paid the man.

"Your problems are my problems." whispered Ares to Liz's right ear.

Though Liz could not stand his corny lines she still was really grateful to him and nodded in agreement.

"Anyway, you shall know that a lynch law is strictly prohibited in Mazeldovia. It is against the law and can be punished by death, good man." Liz commented ruthlessly while a mischievous smile crept on her face.

The man facial expression turned pale and he started to tremble.

"And won't you dare to justify it because he started it. The crime of stealing is just a small fine whereas your penalty will be pretty severe." Liz said while she was checking her fingernails.

Her words were like razor sharp blades for the man

'What a sharp tongue she deserves to be my queen.' Ares thought.

The man begged for her mercy, but Liz retorted:

"You should not ask for my mercy ask for the mercy of the boy. Kneel in front of him and beg him." Liz ordered with a threatening voice.

'Begging for the forgiveness of a child?! This would ruin my reputation!' thought the man.

The man was faced with a dilemma.

However, unwillingly he knelt in front of the child and bowed his head. He begged him for his forgiveness.

The child just gave him a stinky look he was utterly detested by that man.

Nonetheless, he forgave that man since he was still useful for him.

"What's your name little champ?" asked Liz in a gentle voice.

Although Liz sometimes considered children as annoying, she still had a heart for them.

Especially for those who faced injustice since she used to be in their own shoes.

"None of your business, I don't like wealthy people like you." hissed the little boy.

Liz and Ares did not know whether to laugh or to cry.

"How come little champ?" asked Ares curiously.

"All of you are looking down on commoners like us!" retorted the little boy with a gloomy expression.

He knew to well how the rich people were ticking.

He and his family experienced it by themselves.

The little boy, his mother and grandmother lived together.

However, they were indebted and those greedy rich people then took away his mother.

They sold her somewhere and their debt was then cleared.

Life was tough for him and his grandmother as he could not work, and his grandmother worked as a fortune teller. Her business was not going well.

Therefore, he started to steal otherwise they would not make it.

When the memory of his mother displayed in his head, he tried hard to hold back his tears, in vain.

Tears started to uncontrollably trickle down his face, he yearned for his mother.

Looking at the little fella's reaction Liz's knew what was going inside his head.

He was asking himself why fate is so cruel to him like she did when she lost her parents.

Impulsively, Liz pulled him into her embrace and patted his back.

She always wished to be comforted like this back then.

"Everything will be alright. I am here for you. We will help you, little champ." Liz reassured the little fella.

Feeling her embrace warmth kept flowing in the veins of the little boy.

He clung to her tightly.

Seeing his beloved embracing someone else than him Ares could not help but feel jealous even though that someone was just a kid. A love rival is still a love rival Ares thought to himself.

"Where do you live little champ?" asked Liz in a gentle voice.

The little guy just bit his lip and grabbed her hand to led her.

Ares followed those two.

"Here beautiful sister." said the young boy while pointing to a tent.

"How do you know whether I am beautiful when my face is covered." Liz asked in a teasing tone.

"Because you have a beautiful heart. Therefore, you must be beautiful." the little fella reasoned.

Liz smiled at his answer.

'Just a moment ago he was crying nonstop and here he is complimenting me.'

"Beautiful sister I want to you introduce you to my granny." the little fella said.

"Hu? Why little champ?" asked Liz irritated.

"Because I want you to make you my wife." said the little champ brightly.

Liz could only chuckle at his reason whereas Ares's face turned dark.

"She can't." Ares paused.

In the next moment Ares planted a kiss on Liz's cheek.

"Because she is mine." Alex declared possesively.

Liz and the little fella were stupefied of his behaviour.

How could he be so childish?!

"And I don't like to share her with anyone." Alex added.

Coming back to her senses Liz replied to the little fella's request:

"Sure, why not?"

The eyes of the little fella were beaming in excitement while Alex expression hardened.

The little fella then stuck out his tongue to Alex, signalling him his victory.

Afterwards, the three of them entered the tent.

"Granny, look I brought you your future granddaughter-in-law." said the little fella in excitement.

The grandmother of the little fella was shocked.

Thereupon, Liz and Ares explained the whole situation while the little fella was grounded at his room.

"I don't know how I can ever repay you for saving my Tommy." the granny said with tearful eyes.

"You don't have to. Tell me why exactly is Tommy stealing things?"

The granny then told Ares and Liz their situation.

"His mother was sold as a slave?!" Ares and Liz shouted in disbelief.

"Yeah, we could not do anything about it. We were helpless back then. They threatened us if we report them, they would not hesitate to kill us in an instant." the granny said with a heavy heart.

"Unacceptable, don't worry granny everything will be alright." Liz reassured.

"By the way we both don't want that Tommy continues to steal. Therefore, we are giving you this."

Liz then handed 25 gold coins to the old lady.

"Oh my, I can not accept this you guys already did so much for us." the granny said while shaking her head.

"We heard from Tommy that you are a fortune teller. How about you repay us by telling our love fate?" Ares offered.

"B-but would it be enough?" asked the old lady worriedly.

"It sure is." Ares assured.

The old lady then led the two to a dark room where a table where there was a table with a fortune telling ball in the middle of the room.

"You guys have to intertwine your hands and lay them to the fortune telling ball." the old lady instructed.

'Ughh, why do I always have to touch him.' Liz inwardly cursed herself.

"I see a battlefield. Your love is like a battlefield." the old lady paused and then continued.

"It is a battle of feelings, hate, sadness, pain, whether love wins this battle is up to you. But if you follow the path of love and only love, many mountains will stand in your way." the old lady explained.

'I will never allow myself to fall in love with him.' Liz swore to herself.

When they were about to leave Tommy's home the old lady let the two of them know that they are always welcomed and could visit them at any time.

Liz gave Tommy a goodbye kiss by his request which bothered Ares and then both of them returned to the carriage to continue their date.

At some point they heard crashing noises.

The coachman notified that apparently a wheel had fallen off and he could not fix it without the appropriate tools. Therefore, the only choice left for them was to walk back to the castle.

The three of them did not waste any more time and started their long walk.

After some time

….

"If you are tired, I can carry you." offered Ares Liz.

"And why would I want that?" asked Liz with a frown.

"Well, you can consider this as your bride training." he replied and grinned widely.

'Even in a situation like this all he can think of to clarify my title as his fiancée. What a troublesome guy.'

"No thanks a glutton like me might be to heavy for you." retorted Liz.

"I would not if you gain more weight. Afterall, you still have to bear my children."

Liz and the coachman almost choked on their own saliva.

'Is he an animal?!'

"Young Prince mind your words we're not the only ones here." Liz reminded him.

Ares then throw daggers towards the coachman.

Sweat formed on the coachman's forehead.

'Young princess why did you set the beast on me?' the coachman thought.

Trying to break this awkward atmosphere the coachman suggested:

"Young Prince and young Princess we should spend the night in an inn. We will not make it to the castle before dawn and it is rather dangerous if we still decide to continue because bandits could be lurking around every corner."

After a while the three of them arrived at an inn.

"We are sorry, but we can only offer you two rooms." said the innkeeper in a apologetic manner.

"This does not matter those two lovebirds can share a room." explained the coachman.
