Chapter 40 Intuition
Zhao Zhan used a handkerchief to wipe the sweat off his forehead.
If this weather could really be hot for four to five days, then wouldn’t the two fields that had been ruined by his past family be dried?
“Jiaojiao, I’ve already planted the soybean seeds in the shed at the foot of the mountain according to the method you taught me. I’ve also dug the holes for the fertilizer. I’ll pick them up in the next two days. When the seeds won’t rot from soaking in the water, I’ll plant them.”
Jiaojiao was really a lucky star. As long as she said it, it would all become true.
However, his sweetheart was so innocent and naive. If others knew that his sweetheart had such a great ability to predict the weather, he would not be able to protect her at all with his current ability.
Yue Jiaojiao was a quick-witted person. She knew what he was thinking with just a glance at his expression. “Zhao Zhan, you’re wondering why I will be right again, right?” she asked.
“No.” Zhao Zhan shook his head, then said with a serious expression, “I was thinking… How powerful must I become to be able to protect you.”
Yue Jiaojiao placed her hand on his lips and smiled like a blossoming flower. “Are you st*pid? I only let you in because I trusted you. No one else would know about this.”
“But you can predict the future,” Zhao Zhan said anxiously.
“You’re overestimating me.” Yue Jiaojiao pressed her finger against the corner of his lips.
“I don’t know how to predict the future. I just have a vague sense if there’s a strong thought in my heart. It’s just an intuition.
“For example, when you were hunting in the mountains, you must have had that feeling of danger even though you didn’t find anything, right? I have the same feeling, but my intuition is stronger and clearer than an average person.”
Zhao Zhan walked closer to her and held onto her hands.
“In the future, you only need to use this intuition on yourself. No matter what happens in the future, even if I have to risk my life, I will definitely protect you.”
As he spoke, his lips moved slightly, and Yue Jiaojiao’s fingertips were slightly itchy. She couldn’t help but smirk and caress his fingers.
He suddenly stopped mid-sentence. Zhao Zhan stood still as if his pressure points had been hit. Yue Jiaojiao felt as if Zhao Zhan was a well-behaved golden retriever standing in front of her, wagging its fluffy tail. She laughed and raised her hand to smack Zhao Zhan’s head. “Be good, I’m hungry.”
Zhao Zhan immediately jumped away as if his tail was on fire. “I’ll go and cook now.”
The time spent in the mountains took a long time, and Yue Jiaojiao only ate and slept every day. When she was bored, she would read novels.
Zhao Zhan spent his days cooped up in the shed at the foot of the mountain, growing bean sprouts. When he had time, he would also grow the seedlings of soybeans and chilies. He was so busy all day that his feet didn’t stay planted on the ground for longer than five seconds. Even so, he didn’t forget to prepare the most delicious meals three times a day.
Yue Jiaojiao saw that he was busy and wanted to help him. However, she raised her hand and Zhao Zhan’s heart immediately ached for her fatigue.
After trying twice, she realized that her help would only make Zhao Zhan’s heart ache even more and would instead disrupt his rhythm. Yue Jiaojiao then decided to stay in the cave and comfortably become a homebody.
The heat lasted for four to five days.
On the last day, Zhao Zhan planted the soybean and chili seedlings into the ground.
There were two fields in total. One and a half of them were planted with soybeans, and the other half was with chilies.
Willow Village had never encountered such a strange thing in all its years of existence.
Just as he was about to plant wheat, Zhao Zhan realized that he just planted some seedlings he had never seen before.
