Chapter 298 - The Scum Is Domestic

Fei Yin shrugged. "Alright." He said and picked up some branches in the surroundings before he made a fire. Then, with practiced movements, he took out his kitchen utensils and started preparing the ingredients for their dinner. 

Wu Yuan silently watched the domestic side of Fei Yin which shocked him at first when they started their trip to the Southmost Region. However, as the days passed by, he gradually became familiar with this side of Fei Yin. Meanwhile, Cheng Sheng leaned on the wall and started to nap. 

"..." there are just so many things he likes to point out to these two! "What shall we do with Sha Yan?" he decided to talk to Fei Yin who is cooking. If he'd wake up Cheng Sheng, who knew what a scum would be like if they were waken up. 

"I believe in my shidi's decision." Fei Yin said as he expertly chopped the vegetables into thin slices, each perfectly the same thinness with the others. 

"I do, too." Wu Yuan honestly said. "But, if we'd try to wait until Sha Yan regains his memories, we can say goodbye to the world." He said. He has always been straightforward. 

Fei Yin laughed. Among the people around him, he likes Wu Yuan's character the most. Wu Yuan is the most realistic person, with Cheng Sheng excluded since he doesn't count as one of the 'people' of this world. This is why Wu Yuan fit in with him and Cheng Sheng during their trip, when most people expected the opposite to happen. 

"Senior Wu." He called but his eyes are on the ingredients. He's afraid if he'd miss even a single ingredient, and his scum beloved would notice it, Cheng Sheng would get mad at him. 

Since Cheng Sheng couldn't bear to hit him, then he will sulk. It was Fei Yin who couldn't bear seeing Cheng Sheng sulking, so he always perfects his cooking skills to satisfy his lover's stomach and taste buds. 

Wu Yuan saw Fei Yin zoning out again and he suddenly felt bitter. Can he have Sun Yi here, too? He's too tired watching Fei Yin and Cheng Sheng's public display of affection. He's too full of this dog food!

Fei Yin smiled. "My shidi meant that when Sha Yan wakes up, we have to ask for his permission, or let him make the decision by himself." He told him. 

"Oh." Wu Yuan finally understood. 

"But, we have another problem." Fei Yin spoke. 

"What is it?" Wu Yuan asked. 

"Sha Yan is a timid person. Added to the fact that he is also a careful person." Fei Yin said when he remembered Sha Yan tried to play a trick on Cheng Sheng after Cheng Sheng asked him about the Ni Lai Gate. 

"So?" Wu Yuan spoke. 

"So, if we would tell Sha Yan about the Forget Me Not Potion and its effect, Sha Yan, naturally, wouldn't drink it." Fei Yin said. 

Wu Yuan. "...." am I a child? "Isn't this a dead end?" he asked with a dark face.

Fei Yin saw Wu Yuan's dark expression and he coughed. "Senior Wu. You have to believe in my shidi! He definitely has a plan on how to make Sha Yan drink the Forget Me Not Potion. If this doesn't work, my shidi definitely has a contingency plan for this!" he told him. 

"… fine." Wu Yuan spoke. He should've just asked Cheng Sheng. 

Cheng Sheng's eyelids twitched and he was roused awake by Fei Yin's and Wu Yuan's voices. He raised his hand and covered his mouth to yawn before he opened his eyes. "Is the dinner done?" he asked. 

"Yes!" Fei Yin answered. 

Wu Yuan who has been talking to Fei Yin this whole time looked at the pot. "..." when did he finish cooking? I didn't notice at all! 

"I'm hungry." Cheng Sheng said. 

"Don't move. I'll bring you some." Fei Yin said and took a bowl before he scooped the dish with the ladle and poured the content into the bowl. 

Wu Yuan who have been by Fei Yin's side the whole time. "..." when did he bring out a ladle and the bowls? 

Fei Yin saw Wu Yuan is staring at the bowl on his hand. He thought he is hungry. "Senior Wu. No need to be shy. The food is more than enough for the four of us. Please help yourself!" he told him before he went to Cheng Sheng to deliver the food. 

Wu Yuan watched Fei Yin gave Cheng Sheng the bowl and a spoon. "...." Where did the spoon come from? When did he take it out? Why haven't I noticed at all?! He picked up a bowl for himself together with a spoon.

"Because Sha Yan's mind was confused, then my father and uncle Jing must have seen the Shashan Pass and the Twin Sand Mounds." Wu Yuan said after their dinner. 

"That's right. A mere illusion play is just a petty trick for them." Cheng Sheng said. 

Fei Yin looked at him. "Sha Yan said that the Shashan Pass is a killing pass." He said. 

Wu Yuan and Cheng Sheng fell silent. Earlier, the one that attacked Cheng Sheng and Sha Yan with a large boulder of a falling rock are Wu Yuan and Fei Yin. That wasn't the Shashan Pass's doing at all. Then – 

They heard the grasses rustled around them. They looked at each other and hid the night pearl while they thrown sand on the fire to put it out. "Control your breathing." Cheng Sheng said as they squinted in the darkness. 

Ssssshhhhhhhaaaa. Something was being dragged in the sand. Cheng Sheng's eyes narrowed and he waved his sleeves. PA PA PA PA PA! Countless paper talismans flew out of his sleeves. He raised two of his fingers and the talismans glowed brightly! The dark night suddenly turned as bright as the day! 

"Ungh!" their eyes were stung by the bright light coming from the talismans. After their eyes adjusted from the light, Cheng Sheng, Fei Yin and Wu Yuan saw something was grabbing the back of the collar of Sha Yan. 

"There!" Cheng Sheng cried and immediately grabbed the ankle of Sha Yan to keep Sah Yan from being taken away while Fei Yin and Wu Yuan attacked the thing that was trying to take Sha Yan away. 

With the bright light coming from the talismans Cheng Sheng used to catch the enemy off-guard, they saw a large snake with a feathered crown and forelegs. Its tail was wrapped around Sha Yan's neck, and its forelegs are grabbing Sha Yan's clothes! 

"It is short-sighted. It is afraid of bright lights! Attack!" Cheng Sheng told them. 

Wu Yuan and Fei Yin immediately took action. They cut off the creature's forelegs and tail. 

"KAAAAAH!!!" the creature hissed, flickering its long and thin forked tongue at them. 

"Beware of its venom!"
