Chapter 343 - The Scum Is Instigator

Heilong Realm. 

Cheng Sheng felt the jade stone touched his ear after his messy hair cascaded down to cover his face his face when he lowered his head to look at the empty can in front of him. Then, he heard Wu Yuan's voice coming from the jade stone. 

"I don't see any suspicious figure." Wu Yuan said. 

Next was Fei Yin speaking. "Senior Wu. Everyone here is suspicious, including us." He said and laughed. 

A smile formed on Cheng Sheng's face as he did his best to slouch, acting like a beggar. Yes – they are acting as beggars. This is the best identity they could find to disguise themselves as. Thus, they ate some magic pills to transform their face and build before they stole some clothes on the houses of the residents, wore the clothes, tore it, before they rolled down the mud to make themselves dirty. 

It's not that they couldn't bear to tear and soil their clothes. It's because their clothes were made of a high-quality fabric, thus they might be in trouble later if somebody founds out about their clothes and discover its fabric. 

No, this isn't paranoia. This is Cheng Sheng being overly cautious. Fei Yin, who is head over heels in love towards Cheng Sheng, would do anything Cheng Sheng asks him to do. Wu Yuan is a rational person. He thought Cheng Sheng's idea is reasonable, thus he followed him. 

And so, these three high-level righteous cultivators who are young masters of their respective families wore old, torn and dirty clothes, messed their neatly combed hair, and spread dirt on their fair skin. 

"Sometimes, what appears to be ordinary is actually suspicious." Cheng Sheng said after he pulled himself from his thoughts. Then, he suddenly paused before eh chuckled. "It is as da shixiong said. We can speak for ourselves." He said, then glanced at Fei Yin and Wu Yuan sitting on the ground, just across the street. 

Suddenly, he stopped speaking when he heard people speaking not far from him. 

"How many was it this time?" someone asked. The speaker is walking towards his direction. "That Du Xiang snitched someone from Shang He's side again!" he said. 

"What did Du Xiang do to the person?" another person spoke. 

"What can she do?" the first person said, sneering. "He stole the unfortunate person and added him to her harem!" he said. 

"That's really the way she does things." The second person said. 

"Not really." The first person said. 

"Huh?" the second person muttered, puzzled. 

"If she only added this person to her harem, then this wouldn't be a big matter!" the first person said. 

"Why? What happened?" the second person asked. 

"Not only did she steal Shang He's people, and neither did she only added the person to her harem – " the first person said. " – but, she also killed him after!" he said. 

The second person sucked in a cold breath. "No way…!" he exclaimed. 

"What 'no way!'?" the first person said as they stopped just a meter away from Cheng Sheng. "If she only stole Shang He's people, then it might just be a small offense." He said. "If she added them to her harem, then it's a bigger offense. But!" his voice rose, whether because of anger or excitement, it's unknown. "This time, she killed him!" he said and laughed in schadenfreude. 

"Why would she kill him?" the second person asked. "And… how did she kill him?" he added. 

"The news circulating is that she doesn't trust the man." The first person answered. 

"Huh? If she doesn't trust him, why would she steal him in the first place, and add him to her harem in the second place?" the second person asked. 

Suddenly, the voice of the first person lowered. But, Cheng Sheng could still hear him. 

"I heard – " the first person said. " – it has something to do with Meng Gui." He answered. 

"Meng Gui? What's this got to do with that sissy?" the second person asked, obviously disgusted towards this Meng Gui. 

"Hey! Shut your mouth!" the first person told him. "What if someone from Meng Gui's side hears you? Then, I wouldn't see you later and then find only your corpse the morning after!" he said. 

The second person immediately shut up and warily looked around, only to see a beggar slouching on the side as if he is drunk. 

"You already know that the Four Demonic Leaders are already on each other's throats, right?" the first person asked. 

"En." The second person nodded. 

"So… Du Xiang heard from someone that Meng Gui was eyeing one of Shang He's people." The first person said. "Both Du Xiang and Meng Gui are competing with men to place on their harem. So, after Du Xiang heard about Meng Gui being interested in one of Shang He's people, she preempted Meng Gui and snatched the said person." He explained. 

"Oh, now I understand." The second person said. "Then, Du Xiang thinks that the person would use this chance to spy on her and pass the information he found on her to Shang He, so she killed him?" he asked. 

"This is also true…." The first person said. 

"'also'?" the second person asked. 

The first person nodded. "I mean, how many would it be this time, for Du Xiang to snatch some people from Shang He just to bed Shang He's people?" he asked. "But, this time, Meng Gui was involved." He said. 

"Aside from being the reason why Du Xiang snatched another person from Shang He, what could Meng Gui's involvement be?" the second person curiously asked. 

The first person smiled in schadenfreude. "Being the reason why Du Xiang killed that person." He answered. 

The second person sucked in a sharp breath. "What the f…!" he cursed. "This Du Xiang is very gutsy! Is she finally tired to live?!" he asked. "Not only has she repeatedly offended Shang He, who doesn't beat women. But, she also dared to offend Meng Gui!" he said.

The first person nodded. "Yeah." He agreed. 

Cheng Sheng, who was silently listening, felt like vomiting in disgust. These demonic cultivators are really the most perverse beings he has met. Killing someone just to infuriate some other person… they are killing purely for entertainment. 

"These three people are going to kill each other at any time… meanwhile, Ma Wen's side is just quiet." The second person said. "Ma Wen must be feeling very old now, to have these three people bite at each other, being so lively." He said. 

"Huh? Who said Ma Wen are silent?" the first person asked. 

"Huh? He isn't?" the second person asked. 

"Not at all!" the first person answered. "In fact, he is the one orchestrated this 'fun'." He said. 

"Huh? How…" the second person's voice suddenly faded when he realized something. "It can't be… you mean…?!" he said as his eyes slowly widened in shock. 

The first person nodded. "How do you think will Du Xiang know that Meng Gui is eyeing Shang He's people?" he asked. "Where would she find that information?" he added. 

In the entire Heilong Realm, only one person has a vast network. It is – "Ma Wen." The second person answered. 

The first person nodded. "En." He said. "Since you can guess that, Du Xiang could definitely guess it also. So, she must be spreading to the entire realm about Ma Wen giving her a tip about Meng Gui's 'paramour', inciting her to make a move against both Shang He and Meng Gui, offending them." He said. "So, it wouldn't be only Shang He, and neither Meng Gui, are the ones she will only be offending." He smiled. "She will also be offending Ma Wen the moment she would spread this news to the entire realm." He explained. 

The second person's jaw dropped in shock. "… she's done for!" he exclaimed. 

The first person laughed. "Definitely. Each demonic leader is just thinking how to get rid of each other. Now that Meng Gui, Shang He and Ma Wen have found a common enemy, naturally, they will eliminate her first." He explained. 

The second person's eyes widened in circles. "She's finished…" he said. 

The first person nodded. "That's why I am on my way to the Plum Blossom City to watch the 'fun'." He said. The 'fun' he is referring to is more like the execution of Du Xiang. 

The second person was surprised. "Count me in! I want to see them fighting!" he excitedly said. 

The first person patted his shoulder. "Let's go find some horses. I heard that the execution of the Plum Blossom City will start tomorrow. We will just be in time to witness it." He said and walked away. 

"Yes!" the second person nodded and ran after him. 

Cheng Sheng listened to their footsteps fading. But, even though the two were already gone, he still didn't raise his head. 

"Could this be what Bai Yun wanted for us to find out?" Fei Yin asked through the jade stone. 

"I don't think so."
