The smile on everyone's faces immediately disappeared and was replaced by alarm. It isn't because of Lei Qing that she is an alarmist. In fact, she is just stating a fact. Thus, they aren't angry and don't blame her. Instead, they are thankful of her reminder.
Yu Sheng placed the elbow on top of his other arm before he pinched his chin and contemplated on what they should do next. "Even if I, Feng Mo, Lei Qing, Jing Bai, Jing Hei, Qian Lin, Jing Kang, Fei Lin and Qian Tian combined, but the demonic cultivators behind us are too many for us to deal with." He said. "And, as Lei Qing said, there would definitely be more demonic cultivators lying in wait for us." He added.
Zuo Zhe who is listening to the side and eating the melon seeds looked the calmest. "We either stop and deal with the ones chasing us once and for all, or – " he said as he chewed on the melon seeds. " – we continue flying forward, but we have to do something big so we can deal with both groups and end them so we can continue to fly with only one thing to worry – " he looked at them. " – Wu Ran." He said.
Silence fell. What Zuo Zhe said is the truth. They have too many things to worry about aside from Wu Ran, whom they set aside for last. If not for Zuo Zhe reminding them just now, they would have already forgotten Wu Ran. Not because they don't find him threatening. In fact, he is their biggest threat. It was just that too many things happened lately, like sealing the Ni Lai Gates, killing the demonic cultivators, and looking after the patients. Fortunately, something serendipitous happened. Jing Bai, Jing Kang and feng Mo woke up. At the least, their strength was increased.
"Which should we choose, then?" Lei Ling asked.
"If we choose the former and stop, then we will be delaying our travel more." Yu Sheng said. "We can't delay any further. Cheng Sheng, Fei Yin and Wu Yuan are now in the Heilong Realm, attracting Wu Ran's attention to give us a chance to seal the Ni Lai Gates. Not only to prevent the demonic qi from leaking to the Huilong Continent, but also to keep Wu Ran from going back to the Heilong Realm to call for more forces." He explained.
They all nodded in agreement. After the Ni Lai Gates were sealed, the demonic cultivators from the Heilong Realm were trapped in the Heilong Realm. The only demonic cultivators in the Huilong Continent are the demonic cultivators that Wu Ran brought to the Huilong Continent from the Heilong Realm. But, although this is it, but there are still too many of them for them to deal with, specially in the Southmost Region where they came from, and the main entrance to the Heilong Realm is located.
"Although I trust in Cheng Sheng's barriers, but I don't trust in Wu Ran's patience." Yu Sheng said. "Since Wu Ran can't destroy Cheng Sheng's barrier surrounding the main Ni Lai Gate, he would lose patience and direct his attacks to us, instead, while also venting his anger in the process because Cheng Sheng thwarted his plan." He told them.
"Then…" Qian Lin spoke. "We'll choose the second one, then?" he asked.
"If we'll be choosing the latter, we have to think on what this 'big' thing we are going to do to sweep all of the demonic cultivators in one wave." Jing Bai said.
Jing Hei nodded, then turned to Yu Sheng. "What do you think?" he asked.
Yu Sheng smiled. "Shall we ask the one that suggested these two choices for us?" he asked and turned to Zuo Zhe who is nibbling on the melon seeds.
A melon seed almost got stuck in between his teeth when he heard what Yu Sheng said. "Ppt!" he spat the melon seed, then angrily turned to Yu Sheng, glaring at him.
But, Yu Sheng looked unperturbed. "So?" he said. As if to show he doesn't fear Zuo Zhe, he even adoringly pinched Zuo Zhe's nose.
Zuo Zhe's face flushed from both shame and anger. "Fine!" he said as he slapped the table, making the others jump, startled. They rarely see him angry. "I do have an idea for the latter choice." He said.
Their eyes widened. "Really?!" they asked, hopeful.
Zuo Zhe nodded as he sipped his drink to moisten his dry lips. "I have thought of two methods." He said as he raised his two fingers.
"But, you just said there's only one…" Zheng Yi muttered.
Jing Bai immediately covered Zheng Yi's mouth when he saw Zuo Zhe glared at Zheng Yi. He forced a smile. "Please don't mind. You continue…" he said as he pulled Zheng Yi to the back to take him away from Zuo Zhe's sight.
"First – " Zuo Zhe said as he raised a finger. " – we lose them." He said.
"Is that possible?" Jing Kang asked. "We can't find any opportunity to use stealth for the ship because the demonic cultivators behind us are closely following us." He said.
"It is possible." Zuo Zhe answered. "We can try fishing." He said.
Jing Kang and Jing Bai who were asleep before, and Zheng Yi who is watching over Jing Bai, were puzzled when they heard Zuo Zhe's answered. Meanwhile, the others are familiar of it.
"Are you suggesting we use baiting?" Lei Qing asked.
Zuo Zhe nodded. "Yes. We have to lure their attention away from the ship. Meanwhile, the ship should flew higher and faster than the demonic cultivators and then go into stealth mode." He explained. "We can also use smokescreen to blind them and buy time for us to widen the distance between us and them." He added.
"It really sounds possible…" Jing Kang muttered.
Lei Ling nodded and smiled. "Furthermore, you and Jing Bai are now here. As well as Feng-shixiong!" he said.
They nodded in agreement. Their strength as a group has now increased. Thus, this diversion tactic is possible.
"But – " Qian Lin spoke as his brows knitted. " – what about the others who will act as the baits to lure the demonic cultivators away?" he asked. "Will we… abandon them?" his face paled.
Alarm flashed in Lei Ling's eyes and he looked at Jing Kang in panic. "No! We can't!" he said as he held Jing Kang's hand tight.
"Of course, we won't." Jing Hei said and patted Qian Lin's back to comfort him.
"Furthermore, we will be outnumbered." Lei Qing added. "This will be too risky for them." She said.
Silence fell. They now realized the downside of the plan.
"Then, how about the second one?" Yu Sheng asked and looked at Zuo Zhe.
"We pit them." Zuo Zhe answered.
"Huh?" they looked confused.
"I meant it literally. The literal pit." Zuo Zhe clarified.
Those who were pitted by Cheng Sheng before. "…" fortunately, the Huakai Sect isn't here, or else… they don't know how colorful the faces of the Huakai Sect disciples will be if they have heard what Zuo Zhe said.
The Huakai Sect disciples collectively sneezed. "Achoo!" they almost fell off from their sword.
Sun Yi who was flying beside them. "What's wrong? Do you feel ill? Should we take a rest?" he asked.
"No… it's just – " Tang Zhe rubbed his itchy nose. " – we suddenly…" he stopped. He doesn't know how to explain it, either.
Sun Yi pondered. "Suddenly sneezing… could it be someone is talking behind your back?" he asked.
The Huakai Sect disciples. "…" it should've been better if Sun Yi didn't speak.
Tang Zhe, Tang Yun and Guo Cheng who looked at Shan Lu.
Shan Lu. "?" what's wrong? Why are you looking at me? I didn't say anything this time!
Tang Zhe, Tang Yun and Guo Cheng. "…" we didn't say anything. Why sound defensive? This just proves you are guilty!
Shan Lu. "…" I want to cry but I can't cry. What injustice is this? I really didn't do anything wrong!
Sun Yi saw the Huakai Sect disciples are looking at each other, their gazes talking. He covered his mouth and soundlessly laughed. It must be them talking about the Huakai Sect's misfortune again. He thought, then looked at Wu Xi who is silently flying behind them. His arms are filled with snacks.
Wu Xi really has a very low presence he is always forgotten by everyone. Even when they went to the Righteous Alliance, they didn't even notice Wu Xi went to roam around and buy snacks. He felt that they are wronging Wu Xi. Wu Xi volunteered to help them but they just keep forgetting him instead.
But, when he went to ask Wu Xi about it, Wu Xi only told him to proceed as is.
Sun Yi, at that time. "…" so, should I still worry about him or not? Why do I suddenly feel that Wu Xi likes to be ignored, instead? He thought as he watched Wu Xi ate tanghulu.
