Chapter 423 - The Scum Is Unpredictable

"Ch – Ch - !" they stammered as they stared at the person, wide-eyed in shock. "CHEN HAN!!!" they exclaimed. 

Chen Han smiled. Behind him are Wu Yuan and Sun Yi, who was grinning widely. 

He's awake?! They thought as they looked at Chen Han, stunned. "You…" they spoke, too speechless to speak. They don't know which to ask first. 

Wasn't he controlled by Wu Ran? Was he still being controlled? Or is he fine now? How did he wake up from it? Who made him woke up? 

"I'm fine now." Chen Han told them, guessing their thoughts. Then, he paused. "In fact, I was never ill." He said, then raised his head to look at the Millennium Ship in the sky hovering above them. 

"You're not ill?!" they exclaimed, staring at him, wide-eyed. 

"Yes." Chen Han nodded as he retracted his gaze from the ship and then turned to them. 

"Then, why did you attack Cheng Sheng?!?!" they asked when they remembered this fact. 

Wasn't Cheng Sheng his younger brother? And, doesn't he love him too much?! He even didn't dare a fly land on Cheng Sheng's hand. So, how can he harm him?! 

"It's his plan." Chen Han simply answered. 

Everyone. "…" THE F*CK?!?! They were stunned. What devilish plan is that?!?! They thought, too shocked to speak. 

"We'll hold the port." Wu Yuan spoke as he glanced at Wu Ran whose figure finally moved. 

The others finally returned to their senses and their faces turned serious. They know this isn't the time and place to ask questions, seeking for the details. "Yes." They nodded. 

"Then, you fight with elder Fei and elder Ho." Su Yuan spoke as Zheng Yi and Pai Lie carried Zheng Fu Gong. 

Tang Teng and Li Nanzi helped Fan Wen carry Xie Lan. Chen Fu and Wu Yang helped Wu Fan carry Chen Jing. Qian Shan helped Qian Lin carry Qian Tian while Jing Cheng alone carried Jing Rui. Jing Bai and Jing Hei followed behind them. 

They all went to the safe area where Gong Xian and the worried Feng Mo and Lei Qing are waiting, together with the red-faced Li Tian. Shu Mu, Xiao Le and Kang Ce are also there, ready to treat the wounded. 

"Shifu." Gong Xian called. 

Ho Yue turned to him. "I always told you to become stronger." He said. "This time, your strength isn't enough to fight beside me." He patted his head. "Obediently wait here with Xi Ming and Xi Xing so that you can immediately treat me and elder Fei." He told him. 

Gong Xian's fists clenched, and he lowered his head. "Yes." He answered. 

"Elder Fei…" Xi Ming called as he stood beside the silent Xi Xing. 

Fei Lin was about to answer when Xi Ling spoke. 

"Lin." He called. 

Fei Lin turned to him. 

"I don't want what happened just now to happen again." Xi Ling said as he looked at Fei Lin's eyes. 

Fei Lin's smile faded and he hugged the emotionally unstable Xi Ling. "It won't. I won't let it happen." He whispered to him before he lightly kissed him, then left with Ho Yue. 

"C-Chen Han…" Li Tian called. 

Chen Han hugged Li Tian tight. "Thank you, for always waiting for me." He said. "This is the last time I'll make you wait for me. Next time – " he said and cupped Li Tian's face. " – it'll be our wedding you will be waiting." He told him. 

Li Tian's face reddened to the point it's smoking. He was too emotional to answer. Chen Han chuckled and kissed him on the forehead before he turned to follow Ho Yue and Fei Lin.

"Senior Wu! Senior Sun!" Feng Mo and Lei Qing called, as well as Xiao Le. 

Wu Yuan and Sun Yi who were walking behind Chen Han turned. 

"Good luck!" the three of them said. 

Wu Yuan faintly smiled while Sun Yi chuckled and waved at them. "Isn't it nice to make friends all over the land?" he asked Wu Yuan. 

Wu Yuan nodded, and then held Sun Yi's hand tight. "I will. After this battle." He told him. 

Sun Yi roared in laughter.

Because there were no other demonic cultivators around aside from Wu Ran that could attack them, they decided to send Jing Rui, Chen Jing, Xie Lan, Zheng Fu Gong and Qian Shan to the Millennium Ship where it was completely safe. You Rong, aside from making them medicines, could treat their deeper wounds to make them recover faster. 

But, before they could fly, they heard a loud explosion followed by the shaking of the ground. They turned and saw the smoke and dust flew all around, covering the whole battleground. 

"Damn! They are all hiding their strength?!" Li Nanzi exclaimed and uttered a low curse. "Especially Ho Yue!" he added when they saw Ho Yue, a vanguard with Fei Lin, attacked Wu Ran, and a deep cut appeared on Wu Ran's shoulder, making his blood splatter. 

Meanwhile, Wu Yuan, Sun Yin and Chen Han are following closely behind Ho Yue and Fei Lin, giving Wu Ran no time to breathe. 

"They'll be fine." Wu Fan, who now has finally calmed down, spoke as they watched the five people fiercely attack Wu Ran. 

"They will." Fan Wen nodded in agreement. 

Li Nanzi was about to agree when he suddenly remembered something. "Ah, but wasn't he controlled by Wu Ran before?!" he asked and looked at Chen Han. 

Everyone's expressions immediately changed, and their faces turned grave when they saw Wu Ran suddenly grabbed Chen Han's head, rendering Chen Han unable to move. 

"Hahahahaha… you pests… continue to fly and buzz all around me!!!" Wu Ran roared as the demonic qi invaded Chen Han's head. 

"Han…" Li Tian muttered under his breath. But, his expression looked calm. 

Everyone turned and looked at him. Isn't he Chen Han's fiancé? Why does he look calm? Wu Ran's invading Chen Han's mind! They thought and panicked. They were about to ask Li Tian when a voice suddenly spoke, answering the question in their mind. 

"Because it can't invade his mind." A family voice said. 

They all turned and saw the Millennium Ship was descending! Then, they saw a familiar person slowly descending aboard his sword. 

"Ch…!" they sucked in a sharp breath. "Cheng - !" they spoke when Fan Wen suddenly uttered a silencing spell to them, rendering them mute. 

They all turned, throwing a quizzical gaze at Fan Wen. 

"Shifu." Cheng Sheng greeted. "You can release them. The moment I've decided to appear here, I already prepared myself." He said. 

"Xiao Sheng…" Fan Wen's expression softened. Then, his eyes reddened when he saw Cheng Sheng's somber face and remembered that he has lost Fei Yin. 

The others finally recalled and then fell silent. They also remembered that Cheng Sheng's cultivation has decreased, and now he's back in the Golden Core Stage. 

Cheng Sheng faintly smiled before he glanced at the battlefield where Chen Han and the others are fighting. "Before we came to the Youxiwang Sect to ask Wu Ran about elder Luo, I've torn off some pieces of my Shapeshifting Blanket and gave it to him." he said. 

Enlightenment flashed in everyone's eyes. 

"The Shapeshifting Blanket not only acts as a shield from the demonic qi, physical and other magical attacks, but it also absorbs demonic qi." Cheng Sheng said. "So, when Wu Ran's demonic qi tried to invade his mind, the piece of Shapeshifting Blanket, although small, but was able to absorb the demonic qi, making Chen Han safe." He explained.

Everyone didn't speak. They silently agreed that, indeed, to Wu Ran, Cheng Sheng is his biggest enemy. Not only because Cheng Sheng has thwarted many of his plans, but also Cheng Sheng is unpredictable. His power is boundless because of this variable. And this variable is a great liability in a battle. So, Wu Ran badly wanted to kill Cheng Sheng, going so far as to neglect all the other Ni Lai Gates and focus on a single one just to wait for Cheng Sheng to return, catch him off-guard and kill him.
