Chapter 428 - The Scum Is Mischievous

"So, the continuous explosions earlier…" Pai Lie muttered as he stared at Zheng Fu Gong in disbelief. Then, he turned to look at Chen Jing, Xie Lan and Qian Tian. 

"Cheng Sheng woke up to warn us about it, so we could escape." Qian Tian spoke, before he paused. "And he appeared to distract Wu Ran again, so that Wu Ran won't find anything is amiss." He added. 

Pai Lie and the Huakai Sect disciples. "…" Cheng Sheng is really full of mischiefs. Yet, these mischiefs really cost greatly. They thought as they looked down and saw the sands slip on the edges of the abyss like a wide curtain as the ground continued to shake. 

They actually didn't leave that far. They know that Wu Ran might still be alive… no. He is definitely alive, since that isn't enough to knock him down, much less kill him.

"Elder Pai!" they cried when they saw Pai Lie collapsed on the floor of the deck. They immediately went to treat Pai Lie. 

"We have to buy more time." Cheng Sheng spoke. 

They turned to look at him. 

"We don't know how much energy does Wu Ran have left, but we – " Cheng Sheng looked at all of them. Then, he looked at Fei Lin, Chen Han, Wu Yuan, Sun Yi and Ho Yue. " – most of the vanguard are spent." He said and turned to Zheng Fu Gong, Chen Jing, Xie Lan and Qian Tian. 

Although they woke up, but their state is worse than before. 

"As well as…" he looked at the still unconscious Jing Rui. 

Jing Cheng clenched his fists as he knelt beside Jing Rui. Jing Bai, Jing Hei and Jing Kang also looked disheartened. 

"Cheng Sheng, your cultivation…" Tang Zhe spoke. 

Everyone looked at him. They know that Tang Zhe isn't a malicious person and asked Cheng Sheng out of concern. They know that if Cheng Sheng's cultivation is as before, they would definitely have a big chance in winning against Wu Ran. But, right now, Cheng Sheng could only rely on his tricks, as well as on them. 

"It's fine. It is worth it." Cheng Sheng said. 

They didn't answer. Indeed, it is worth it to exchange his cultivation at its peak in order to consume Wu Ran's strength, and gain a bigger chance to restore the peace in Huilong. He must be thinking that since it will be peaceful in the future, it doesn't matter if his cultivation was destroyed. 

What a selfless person. They thought and felt bitter towards Cheng Sheng's fate. Meanwhile, the other disciples lowered their head in shame. Why is there a disparity between them and Cheng Sheng?

They looked at him. It's as if he had read their thoughts. 

"I have nothing to lose." Cheng Sheng spoke, then paused. He lowered his head. "Nothing anymore." He told them. His voice is low. 

A long silence fell. Before, they think that the only one who Cheng Sheng cared about most is himself. But now, they know that the only one who he cared the most is Fei Yin. Yet, Fei Yin is gone. He's dead. He lost him. And also lost his cultivation. How will Cheng Sheng go on now? 

"We can't waste any more time." Cheng Sheng spoke. "The more we delay this fight, the more we will be consumed. The advantage we have in the beginning will become wasted. We have to kill Wu Ran in one strike!" he told them. 

"We really should." Zheng Fu Gong sighed. "We have no more strength left of us. Even if we'd refuel with medicines, but it isn't a long-term solution. Resting also isn't the answer." He said. "We don't have time to rest even a second, now that Wu Ran is – " his face turned grave when they felt the air is shaking. 

" – definitely enraged." They continued as they turned and saw behind them a large cloud of sand mixed with dust. 

"Uh, this plan is indeed the best, but the question is – " Jing Hei spoke. " – how do we execute it? What is the method? What steps should be taken?" he asked. 

"There are only two steps." Cheng Sheng spoke. 

They turned to him. Meanwhile, the Xinfaxian Sect. "…" here we are with Cheng Sheng's 'two's' again… they thought. 

"First step: defend." Cheng Sheng said as he pressed all the buttons of the Millennium Ship. 

Tang Teng and the Huakai Sect disciples who saw it. "…" their faces are all covered in dark lines while the whole ship was suddenly covered with bright light. 

"ULTIMATE SHIELD!" Lei Ling yelled as he and Jing Kang poured more qi on the shield that appeared, covering the entire ship. 

At the same time, the large cloud of sand and dust following them hit the shield! 

"AAAAAAAAHHH!!!" they all screamed when the Millennium Ship violently rocked and they all fell on the floor!

"Uncle!" Jing Cheng exclaimed as he covered Jing Rui's body with his. Jing Hei and Jing Bai followed him. 

"Lin-er! Tian-er!" Qian Shan and Qin Su called as they pulled their sons towards them, protecting them. 

"Xiao Yun! Xiao Zhe!" Tang Teng called as he and Tang Zhe protected Tang Yun while Shan Lu silently pulled Guo Cheng with him and covered him in his embrace. 

"Ugh!" Shan Lu cried when the back of his head hit the post. But, he endured it since the ship is tilting. 

"Xiao Sheng! Xiao Tian!" Xie Lan and Fan Wen called as Xie Lan pulled Cheng Sheng who was almost hit by the steering wheel that turned. Meanwhile, Fan Wen hugged Li Tian who is still healing Chen Han, Wu Yuan, Sun Yi, Ho Yue and Fei Lin with the Healing Array. 

"Protect Li Tian, Chen Han, Wu Yuan, Sun Yi, Ho Yue and Fei Lin!" Zheng Fu Gong yelled. "The healing can't be interrupted!" he said while he and Zheng Yi held Pai Lie who is unconscious. 

Xi Ling and Gong Xian were the first to move. Li Nanzi, Chen Fu and Wu Yang, as well as Su Yuan who is still resting, surrounded Li Tian and the five others. Kang Ce and Shu Mu held Xiao Le's hands while Xi Ming is tightly holding Xi Xing's hand as the ship overturned because of the impact. Meanwhile, Feng Mo and Lei Qing are covering You Rou. 

"Lei-shidi! Jing Kang!" Cheng Sheng cried and sent the Shapeshifting Blanket to anchor Lei Ling and Jing Kang to prevent them from falling and their spell be interrupted. 

"What do we do now?!" they asked each other as they summoned their swords and flew after the Millennium Ship turned upside down. 

Meanwhile, the large cloud of sand and dust is still attacking them, hitting the bottom of the ship that is now at the top. Dust fell on their head, but they don't care about their appearance nor their cleanliness right now. 

Stop By Town. 

"What is that large cloud?" the people asked as they stopped to stare. 

"Ai. Is a sandstorm coming?" the owner of the medicine shop asked as he looked outside. "So many unfortunate events are happening one after another." He sighed and glanced at the sleeping child lying on the cough. "Ai." He shook his head as he walked towards the door and closed it, followed by the windows to shut them al tightly. 

Shashan Pass. 

"We can't let him reach the nearby town." Zheng Fu Gong said. "We have to stop him here." he said. 

"But…" they looked at each other. "Who can stop him now?" they asked. 

Cheng Sheng was about to speak when he suddenly froze. "Huh?" he muttered in a low voice. "Did you notice something?" he asked. 

"Huh?" they turned. "Ah." They muttered when they realized it. They suddenly got a bad feeling. "The… attack has stopped…" they said. 

Cheng Sheng suddenly felt a chill on his spine. His eyes snapped open and his breathing hitched as he slowly moved his head. Then, he felt his heart became cold. "TAKE COVERRRR!!!" he shouted when he saw Wu Ran is beneath them, right outside the barrier! 

Wu Ran obviously didn't give them a time to react. He immediately struck the shield covering the Millennium Ship! 

"AAAAAAHHH!!!" they screamed as the whole ship made another violent shake, more violent than the earlier! 

Everyone fell off of their swords when the ship was overturned again and they were hit by the ship! 

"Ugh!" Cheng Sheng grunted when he was hit on the back and fell on the deck of the ship. He raised his head, only for his eyes to widen when he saw that the Shapeshifting Blanket was dyed red! "LEI-SHIDI! JING KANG!" he cried. 

The Xinfaxian Sect and Zunjingde Sect turned in shock. The Shapeshifting Blanket shifted as it continued to float, but slightly opened to reveal Jing Kang and Lei Ling. The corners of their lips are bleeding. 

"They were spiritually injured because they were holding the barrier and received Wu Ran's attack!"
