Chapter 440 - The Scum Is Irreplaceable

"Cheng-shixiong, I was wrong! QAQ" Lei Ling cried as he hugged Cheng Sheng's leg. 

Meanwhile, Fei Yinzi finally recovered from his shock. He immediately ate one of the magic pills and could feel his nausea disappearing. Then, he clutched the bottle of magic pills tight before shouting. "Shizun! Let me help you cook!" he said as he ran towards the house. 

Li Tian, Feng Mo, Lei Qing and You Rou looked at each other, feeling very excited. Then, they raced with each other towards Cheng Sheng's house. Chen Han and Jing Kang were left and looked at each other before they shrugged. They are already used to the antics of the Xinfaxian Sect, as the two of them were married with two of its members. 

But, there is a smile on their faces. Not because they were amused by the antics of the members of the Xinfaxian Sect, but because they can clearly remember the taste of Cheng Sheng's dishes. When Li Tian and Lei Ling married them, one after another, it was Cheng Sheng who cooked for them to celebrate the joyous occasion. Although Cheng Sheng was still mourning because of Fei Yin, but they let him cook for them so that he could have something to divert his attention. 

During the last Intersect Competition where they all have participated, they remembered that Cheng Sheng once told them that he can cook after they found out that he used the Sundry Leaf to make them tonic. That was proven during two marriages of the members of the Xinfaxian Sect. They were so intoxicated of the food that the grooms almost forgot to enter the bridal chamber with their wives who were equally intoxicated. If not for Cheng Sheng reminding them… sigh. 

Although they were equally excited with Li Tian, Feng Mo, Lei Qing and You Rou, but Chen Han and Jing Kang stayed outside to talk about some matters. 

"How was your uncle?" Chen Han asked. 

"Still not waking up." Jing Kang heaved a sigh. The recent years, after being married to the hyperactive Lei Ling, his face showed some emotions. 

It should be one of the Jing brothers – Jing Cheng, Jing Bai and Jing Hei, who should inherit Jing Rui's position as the sect leader, and Jing Cheng was the most expected one to inherit the position, although he is just an adopted child. But, the three brothers equally rejected the elders' suggestion to replace Jing Rui. Jing Kang stepped forward and told the elders that Jing Rui is irreplaceable. They will wait until Jing Rui wakes up. 

Actually, if Jing Kang wanted to, he can also fight for the sect leader position as he is also legible. But, Jing Kang is already satisfied being as Lei Ling's husband. Although the two of them are in the opposite sides of the continent, but the distance just made them long more for each other. In fact, wives should move in with their husbands, but Lei Ling is a man. And Jing Kang doesn't want to restrict Lei Ling, separating him from his family – the Lei family, and the Xinfaxian Sect. Since Wu Yuan is there as the sect leader of the Youxiwang Sect and Sun Yi is by his side to accompany him while their parents retired from the sect to travel everywhere, making up for the years that they missed each other, Chen Han can also do anything or can go anywhere he wants. And so, his figure was continued to be seen in the Xinfaxian Sect, just like the old days he was visiting Cheng Sheng and pursuing Li Tian. "The Shaking Forked-Leaves Plant." Jing Kang answered. 

Chen Han's brows knotted. "I haven't heard of this herb…" he muttered. 

Jing Kang smiled. "Jing Cheng heard of this herb just recently." He told him. Jing Cheng has never stopped looking for some ways to wake Jing Rui. 

Chen Han paused. Hearing that it was Jing Cheng, he then understood that it must be for Jing Rui. "I'm sorry. If there's a chance that I would see this herb, I'll immediately tell you." He told him. 

Jing Kang nodded. "Thank you." He spoke. "I am here not only for Ling Ling, but also to see Cheng Sheng." He said. 

Naturally, as the best doctor in the continent, the Zunjingde Sect also consulted with Cheng Sheng about Jing Rui's condition. Cheng Sheng said that aside from Jing Rui's meridians that were damaged, but recently have been cured, he said that Jing Rui's soul also has a problem and it was the main cause that Jing Rui is still not waking up. 

He told them to try stimulating Jing Rui's body and he might respond. And this Shaking Forked-Leaves Plant that Jing Cheng has heard can stimulate one's body. This is why Jing Kang went to find Cheng Sheng. 

Chen Han patted Jing Kang's shoulder to comfort him. "Just tell me if you need something. I'll definitely help." He told him. 

During the Intersect Competition, their sects who are contending against each other became close. It was because of the Xinfaxian Sect, precisely Cheng Sheng. If the Xinfaxian Sect didn't join, the other four sects might still be contending against each other to be the strongest. Yet, the Xinfaxian Sect broke this relationship that doesn't see each other eye-to-eye through their crazy antics. Now, they all have become close, and even became in-laws. 

"Thank you." Jing Kang smiled, feeling grateful. 

"Hey! What are you two still waiting there out for?!" Lei Qing shouted from the door. 

"Jing Kang… you're not cheating with Chen-shixiong, are you?" Lei Ling asked as his eyes became misty because of tears. 

Jing Kang's blank expression cracked and was replaced with panic and anxiety. "Ling Ling, don't cry!" he immediately said and almost flew towards Lei Ling who immediately hid behind his sister and is now laughing when he saw his husband's reaction. "I didn't! I'm not! I am innocent! I only have you in my heart!" he said and took Lei Ling's hand to hold it tight. 

Lei Ling's smirk was immediately replaced by a bashful smile and he blushed. "Jing Kang…" he called. 

Chen Han placed a hand on his eyes, feeling going blind. "Won't you going to accuse me, too?" he asked as he walked towards Li Tian who was standing on the side. 

Li Tian smiled. "I won't." he answered. "Because that would just mean I am incompetent after casting my spell on you." He said. 

Chen Han's heart skipped a beat and his ears turned red. Yes. Li Tian casted a spell on him – a love spell. 

Lei Qing who volunteered to call the two men felt regretful as she looked at the two pairs. But, a faint smile appeared on her lips when she remembered the history of these two pairs. One fell in love with his younger brother's friend, while the other met accidentally. How time passes… yet it mysteriously builds a deep connection between everyone, creating a beautiful relationship after. 

"Let's go inside and eat." She told them. 

"Okay!" they answered.

"'Shaking Fork-Leaves Plant'?" Cheng Sheng spoke as they all sat in the terrace after dinner, admiring the beautiful scenery of the Jixu Peak at night. "I've heard." He said. 

Jing Kang looked at him, waiting for him to continue. 

"I went to Hujing to find more information about that plant." Cheng Sheng said. He is a doctor, and also an alchemist, so it isn't weird for him to be interested in plants. 

Fei Yinzi who was serving their tea glanced at his master. So, he didn't go there to just gamble? He thought before he continued pouring them tea. 

"Did you find something?" Jing Kang asked. There is a faint anxiousness in his voice that he tried to hide, but failed. After all, it concerns Jing Rui's life. 

"Yes." Cheng Sheng answered. "It is commonly found in the Demon Realm." he told him.
