"XIAO LING!!!" xiao Bao called as he ran towards xiao Ling who was napping on the small toy bed Cheng Sheng made for him.
Although xiao Bao lost to Fei Yinzi, but Cheng Sheng has a former promise to xiao Bao to make him play with xiao Ling every night. Thus, this match's wager tonight, to xiao Bao, is meaningless. He only did it for Cheng Sheng's sake.
Cheng Sheng knows this, and also he doesn't like to quibble with a child, albeit a sword spirit, he gave xiao Ling to xiao Bao.
"S – shizun!" Fei Yinzi exclaimed in shock when he saw xiao Bao is inside Cheng Sheng's room. He was so excited and happy tonight after he won and he won't be having a shidi so, even though he felt tired, he went to Cheng Sheng's room to seek for his master's praise. Only to see xiao Bao inside his master's room.
"What?" Cheng Sheng turned to look at his disciple.
"He… he is here!" Fei Yinzi exclaimed as he pointed to xiao Bao.. "Why is he here?! Didn't he lose to me?! He won't be my shidi?!" he asked.
Cheng Sheng's brows rose. "Of course he won't be your shidi." He said. Before Fei Yinzi could react and feel happy, he continued. "He can't be your shidi, since he isn't a human." He told him.
Fei Yinzi. "…" then what's the point of my match against him earlier?! He thought as his face was covered in dark lines.
"Go rest now. You might have a match tomorrow." Cheng Sheng spoke. "If you will perform poorer tomorrow than you did tonight…" he said as his eyes narrowed.
Fei Yinzi felt a child ran down his spine. He stood upright. "I won't! I won't perform poorly in any of the matches!" he said.
"Good. Good night." Cheng Sheng said.
Fei Yinzi nodded. He was about to reply 'good night' when Cheng Sheng spoke again.
"You did well earlier." Cheng Sheng told him and smiled and patted his disciple's head before he closed the door.
Fei Yinzi stood outside, stupefied. Then, after a few minutes, he dazedly returned to his room, only his master's words 'you did well earlier' in his mind. Then, he fell asleep with a smile on his face, stupidly forgetting that xiao Bao was still in his master's room.
How good it is to be ignorant, or just his master is too good in deception? The answer doesn't matter anymore, since both the master and disciple are happy.
The next day.
"Drawing lots by Zheng Yi… the first match is Xi He against another disciple, huh?" Xi Ming muttered as they all watched Xi He and his opponent come up the stage. "He is unlucky, as well as his opponent." He said.
Zheng Yi only draws the name of one of the participants while the participant drawn would draw the name of their opponent. Unfortunately for Xi He, he hasn't drawn Wu Tie's name.
"Why would his opponent be unlucky?" Shan Lu asked.
"Because Xi He wanted to fight against Wu Tie, but lost the chance in this stage." Xi Xing answered.
"Ah!" Xiao Le exclaimed when he understood it. "So, Xi He would vent his anger on his opponent, then?" he said.
"Yes." Xi Xing nodded.
As Xi Xing said, Xi He really did vent his anger on his opponent. Fortunately, he didn't harm him that much and he didn't radiate killing intent. It seems like he still has his brain.
"Xi He of the Shanliangde Sect wins!" the host announced and the audience clapped loudly, uttering congratulations to the participant and of his sect.
But, Xi He's expression remained bad as he glared at Wu Tie who is standing with his fellow disciples, looking as if he wanted to challenge Wu Tie on the spot. However, in the end, he unwillingly left the stage after he caught the gaze of Sun Yu, their sect leader.
"As for the second match – " the host spoke as he turned to Zheng Yi.
Zheng Yi picked a name plate from the box before he looked at it, only to give a wry smile. The audience, as well as the host, was curious.
The host received the name plate only to sharply inhale when he saw the name. "Wu Tie of the Wuyang Sect!" he announced.
The audience, like the host, didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Everyone already knew that Xi He and Wu Tie wanted to fight against each other. But, fate is against them since it didn't let them fight in this stage. So, Xi He and Wu Tie could only postpone their fight in this stage and reserve it for the next stage, since Xi He already won, and Wu Tie is expected to win when they saw that he picked a name of a disciple from a small sect.
The disciple who is Wu Tie's opponent also knew that he doesn't stand a chance against Wu Tie but he wanted to put up a fight. Fei Yinzi's match against xiao Bao last night was already known to the entire Zhongyang and many bought jade slips from the people that recorded the match last night. Thus, Wu Tie's opponent reserved his strength from the beginning until he exhausts Wu Tie's strength.
Unfortunately, Wu Tie's performance remained stable. Fortunately for the disciple though, Wu Tie took him seriously so everyone warmly clapped after their match.
"Wu Tie of the Wuyang Sect wins!" the host announced.
"You've fought well. I hope you continue to persevere." Wu Tie sincerely said to his opponent as both of them left the stage.
The disciple felt flattered and nodded. "Thank you! I wish you well for the next stage!" he told him before he hurried back to his sect.
"Fake." Xi He sneered when Wu Tie passed by him.
Wu Tie, as expected, stopped. The people around them tensed and Xi Bing's expression turned ugly while Sun Yan just smiled. Sun Ri's expression is looking forward to a drama while Fei Luo looked indifferent. Fei Huo, surprisingly, remained silent at this time.
"At least I still have the sense of propriety unlike you who one-sidedly beaten your opponent just for a petty reason of things not going in your way." Wu Tie spoke. "Spoiled." He added before he left and returned to his fellow disciples who are glaring at Xi He.
"You - !" Xi He gnashed his teeth and was about to ran after Wu Tie when Xi Bing held him back.
"Enough!" Xi Bing had had enough of Xi He's actions. Xi He is shaming the Xi Clan.
Xi He clenched his fists. He glared at Xi Bing for stopping him before he returned to his seat. Truly proving Wu Tie's words that he was spoiled. Recalling that his father, Xi Shi, was also spoiled by his family before, everyone can see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. in short, he took after his father.
"His father is Xi Shi." Xi Ming reminded Cheng Sheng and the others.
"Oh." Cheng Sheng just said and didn't react more. "I wonder who will be in the next match…?" he muttered, looking forward for the next matches.
"Yes. The last match for this morning." The others agreed.
While they are waiting for the next match, suddenly, two disciples came over in almost a hurried manner and went to Jing Cheng and Qian Tian. Both are wearing the uniform of Zunjingde Sect and Qianxu Sect respectively. They handed the two with a letter.
Everyone's expression changed and Shu Mu immediately casted a barrier on their side, especially when they saw that Qie Shi also came after the two disciples that arrived.
"Something… something happened!" Qie Shi spoke as he catches his breath while Jing Cheng and Qian Tian read the messages. "Jing Hei and Qian Lin…" he said and looked at the two disciples.
Everyone turned and now clearly saw that there was blood on their sleeves. Jing Cheng, Jing Bai, Jing Kang and Qian Tian immediately rose from their seats and left with the two disciples following behind them.
"They are mute." Cheng Sheng spoke as they also rose.
"Jing Hei and Qian Lin haven't appeared before the Intersect Comeptition…" Chen Han muttered.
"Cheng Sheng." Qian Tian called before they left.
"Coming." Cheng Sheng answered as he fixed his sleeves. Only his skills do they trust.
"We'll go with them." Shu Mu spoke as he, Xiao Le, Xi Ming and Xi Xing followed after Qie Shi and the others. "You still have your disciples to watch their matches for. We'll protect Cheng Sheng." He told them before the four of them ran after the group that left.
"What do you think happened to Jing Hei and Qian Lin?" Li Tian asked.
"I heard that Jing Hei are going to see Qian Lin. But, Qian Lin didn't come with sect leader Qian, his mother and elder Qian Tian." Tang Zhe spoke.
"The Qianxu Sect doesn't look like worried, so they think that nothing serious happened to Qian Lin, or nothing will happen to him. After all, he and Jing Hei will only just meet." Guo Cheng agreed.
"The same with the Zunjingde Sect." Sun Yi spoke. "What could have gone wrong with the two of them's meeting?" he asked.
