From the moment I was born, I was always different. My parents were peaceful and loving people. Even my many brother and sisters were gentle and caring. I, however, was much different. For some reason, I never cared about a thing. I had no ambition and I was out of touch with the world. I was missing something important.
My parents noticed this, and gave me a puppy. They hoped that the puppy would make me normal. However, they were wrong. The puppy barked too much.
It was dirty.
One night, I put my pillow over the puppy. I waited until he no longer moved. At the time, I didn't really understand what I did. However, I knew right away that what I had done wasn't acceptable. My parents started looking at me as if I was some monster. They had no idea how to deal with me.
However, I didn't care about them. They were boring. I didn't need anything boring.
They wrote it off as a childish mistake. They started to spoil me more in an attempt to change me. Back then, I never used to smile. When I started observing the people around me, I noticed that they seemed to be creeped out by my lack of reaction.
So I started to smile. I mimicked the smiles around me. Gentle and warm. I was too good at it. My parents even thought I started changing for the better. But they were wrong.
I was five years old.
On the day of the tea party, my life was forever changed. I noticed my classmate Seri was tripped by the others. I jumped to defend her on a whim, "You tripped her! I saw it!"
She picked her head up and swore, "Where the f*ck am I?"
I blinked in confusion as she grabbed onto me. Why was this girl so strange? I've never met anyone like her before. She didn't seem uncomfortable when she was with me. She looked at me with a big grin, "We're friends, right? Let's eat together."
I clutched my chest as I felt something stir within. My face twitched.
Mine.
She seems to like my gentle smiles. Then, I should smile more.
Everything was fine until those two boys started following her around. My mouth turned bitter as I watched them talk and touch her so freely.
Dirty.
They are making her dirty.
I knew these thoughts were bad, so I stuffed them deep down inside. I invited her over to my house, and she actually came. My family tried to warn her about me, but I managed to stop them in time.
No one can ruin my toy.
*SMACK*
I gasped in surprise as I held my cheek. Did she just slap me? I forced myself to contain my laughter. No one has ever slapped me before. I knew it. I just knew it.
She is special.
However, she told me I could only hurt others if they deserved it. I stuffed away my malicious desires and managed to contain my evil thoughts. That was... Until I noticed the bruises on her wrist.
Kill.
Kill.
Kill.
Kill.
I forced a smile, "Who did this?"
"A drunk in the red light district."
She provided me his description and where I could find him. I couldn't contain my evil desires any longer. I had to destroy the person who hurt my toy. Finding him was easy. Kidnapping him was not.
I lured him away to an abandoned shed. When he least expected it, I stabbed a needle into his skin. I injected him with a powerful tranquillizer and avoided his attacks. He soon succumbed to the drug and collapsed. I laughed maliciously as I tied him up.
Once he woke up, I smiled at him. Grinning ear from ear.
"You made my toy dirty. Now I'm going to punish you."
I relished in his screams. I breathed in the smell of his blood. Everything was magical. As I tortured him, I realized the thing that had always been missing from me.
That day, I realized I couldn't escape myself. Deep inside of me was a monster demanding blood. I couldn't ignore it any longer.
When the man died, I realized I had to prefect my killing. I was too messy. I had to get better. Luckily there was no one who would miss this person. If there was, I probably would have been caught.
I followed Seri whenever I could. I became much better at it. I discovered many things about this toy of mine. She invented and pretended to be the Black Death. She would always go to the red light district late at night to buy naughty books and reinforce her villain's name. She never seemed to sleep.
I soon got my next victim. The man who decided to mess with my toy and use her villain's name. No one is allowed to take advantage of my toy.
After he shouted through the town and fainted. I was able to drag him back to that shed of mine. I tied him up and grabbed out more tools. This time I learned how to make less of a mess while having more fun.
This dog lasted much longer than the drunk dog did.
It was perfection. I finally understood what it meant to be happy. Then, Seri taught me how to feel something else.
Extreme anger.
I watched as Ilene purposely lured Seri away. In Seri's presence, I would always act helpless and meek. This was what she liked after all. However, when Ilene pulled her away in the forest, I stopped. I glared at the two girls with a chilling smile.
"If you don't release me, you will regret it."
They immediately released me. They shrunk away in fear. Although I wanted to hurt them, I knew I had to help Seri first. I quickly alerted Prince William and Dante. I watched with a twitching face as they searched frantically. Then, I disappeared into the forest's darkness.
I watched Ilene walk through the forest with a smirk on her face. I grabbed her wrist with a smile, "Ilene. Where's Seri?"
She sneered, "I pushed her down a cliff. Now let go you miserable excuse for nobility."
My face twitched, "You... Dirtied my toy?"
She stopped sneering and felt as if something was wrong. She tried to release herself from my grip, but I only held it tighter. She looked at me in a panic, "L-Let go! My father is a duke!"
I grinned ear to ear, "And mine's a hippy."
I stabbed her with my needle and held her mouth as she screamed. She fainted in my arms. I dragged her to my campsite and looked around. Since everyone was looking for Seri, I snuck into my cabin and opened my trunk. I pulled out my belongings and put Ilene in. I made sure to bind her tightly and shove clothes in her mouth so she couldn't yell.
No one suspected a thing as I carried my trunk to the carriage. She was heavy, but she was also sedated. I successfully brought her home without ever being caught. The entire time I clung to Seri feeling a rush of ecstasy.
However, there was something off about Seri's expression.
It made me uncomfortable. I went to the shed that I had reinforced and made bigger. I saw Ilene tied up with tears down her face. I opened the door and stepped in.
She sobbed, "I'm sorry... I'm sorry... P-Please... Let me go... I-I won't tell anyone."
I smiled at her, "They always beg." I prepared my needle, "But, I never listen."
I walked to her with the needle drawn. She sobbed as she tried to move away, but there was no where to go. I injected it into her arm as she screamed out. I smiled at her and patted her head, "Don't scream. It's not like anyone can hear you."
"W-What?!"
"I made it soundproof." I grabbed my small hacksaw and poked her skin, "Can you feel that?"
She sobbed in fear as I touched her arm, "P-Please don't hurt me. Do you want money? My father will give you money."
"I don't need money."
"S-Surely you want something?!"
I nodded, "Yes, I suppose I do."
Her face lit up, "What? Whatever it is, I will give it to you."
I smiled gently, "I want to destroy those who dirty my toy."
I started sawing at her arm. She screamed as she watched her arm cut off before her eyes. I smiled as I held it out, "It looks like my concoction worked. I've successfully made a numbing drug that will prevent the wound from bleeding out."
She fainted from the gruesome scene. I giggled as I wiggled her severed arm, "Now you wont dirty my toy with this disgusting hand of yours." I put her arm down and hummed as I sewed up her wound.
I'm getting much better at sewing.
Once I tied my new pet dog up, I left the shed and went back to my house. My mother smiled at me, "Oh, hello Millie. Playing outside again?"
I nodded with a smile, "Yes mother. Did Seri ever write me back?"
Her smile faltered, "Oh... That... Well, you see Millie...." She gulped in fear, "Seri left for her family's villa...."
My smile twitched, "What."
She took a deep breath, "Her father said she needed to recuperate there and that she wouldn't be taking any visitors."
I clenched my hands and forced myself to smile, "No... Visitors?"
My mother took a step back, "N-Now Millie... Just relax sweetheart... Don't forget that Seri likes gentle girls..."
I paused. That's right. Seri likes me best when I'm gentle. I looked at my palms which were now dripping with blood from being cut by my own nails. I sighed, "You're right mother. I almost overreacted."
I walked back to the shed and started tearing down the shelves. I screamed as I kicked the concrete wall. Ilene woke up from my tantrum and looked at me groggily. Her eyes shrank back in fear as I screamed and punched the wall so hard my knuckles bled.
I heaved in anger, "She... Left... Me... Does she think she can leave me?!" I laughed crazily, "There's no way I can let her leave me!"
I heard Ilene whimper in fear. I glared at her wanting to vent my frustrations. I picked up a knife from the ground and held it out to her, "It's all your fault." Ilene shrunk back sobbing as I took a step closer, "Because of you, Seri doesn't even look the same. She won't even look at me anymore!"
Kill.
Kill.
Kill.
Kill.
I held my head in pain, "ARGH! I hate it I hate it!" I looked at her with a crazed look, "No. I can't kill you. I have to savor you." She sobbed as she tried to hide from me in the corner.
I spent the next few years playing with my new dog.
During that time, I contacted many mercenaries and paid them to give me information about Seri. When I found out she left the country, I had another breakdown. My dog lost another leg. When I heard Seri started fighting and was now covered in wounds, my dog lost another leg. Soon, my dog no longer had any legs.
I skipped into the shed full of smiles. I giggled as I put down the jars of my new creation, "She's back! She came back! She's back home now!"
Ilene lay on the floor with bloodshot eyes. She was no longer afraid of me. Now she only stared at me with overwhelming hatred in her eyes. I sat down by her and brought out some moldy food. I fed it to her as she glared at me. I was in such a good mood, I didn't care that Ilene spat it out spitefully.
I continued to smile, "But I wonder why she hasn't tried to contact me yet... Maybe she's just waiting until the perfect moment?" My smile twitched.
Why... Why hasn't she contacted me yet? Is she... Ignoring me?
Ilene spoke hatefully, "Seri won't ever love you."
My face twitched, "...What."
