124 First Lesson 2 The Sinners's Queen

Name:The Sinners' Queen Author:FallenBlue
Those who lost almost everything they valued would always acquire an instinct to not let what little remained in them be lost too. Sometimes, something in their mind would break or be twisted. This would make them either paranoid or possessive.

Sometimes their mind would harbor extreme ideas too. Like destroying whoever or whatever tries to deprive them of their treasures. If they couldn't, then they'd carefully hid the precious people or things away, making sure they wouldn't be stolen. The concept was because they already tasted the feeling of losing many things important to them, they must become EXTRA careful and obsessive in keeping their remaining possessions.

It was just like imagination, there were times when what people could do to protect what they own could be way beyond everyone's comprehension and understanding.

Gio who understood this somehow predicted Sofony's current train of thoughts. If his guess was correct, Sofony wanted to check if that woman was really suffering as intended. The girl also probably wanted to confirm whether Clarissa was already now incapable of doing anything threatening or harmful to him.

If that woman was securely bound in the lab and experimented by Lauren's team to their hearts' content, then things would be fine.

Or maybe not...

Gio shook his head, remembering what she managed to do after the self-brainwashing...

It was actually hard to rule out the possibility that once she arrives there, Sofony would not consider forever silencing the other if that could bring her more security and peace of mind. Seeing her current state of mind, she already looked like somebody brave enough to do it. Gio didn't know if he should be proud or not. However, he was indeed flattered and a bit ecstatic that she was being like this due to him.

Anyway, the man actually had no problem letting her do as she wishes since it could also toughen her heart a bit. This was the reason why he only studied her dodgy expression for a while then agreed. However, he still hadn't forgotten his first commitment, so he said, "Fine. I'll go with you too. But first, freshen up because you have to come with me."

Sofony sighed in relief, probably more than relieved that she would be able to check whether Clarissa Guzman was receiving her due punishments. After that, she remembered him saying she has to come with him. She was confused thus she asked, "Where to?"

A playful grin was on his face when he replied, "Ever Victorious. The conference will end before night falls, we can drop by the lab after that."

.....

When the girl heard him saying he'd bring her to his company after lunch, she probably only assumed that he would leave her to his office or the lobby then go to the conference room by himself. This was why she only applied light makeup and put on a modest green dress that reached to her knees. Her beautiful glossy and long hair exuding a floral scent and swaying behind her so gracefully like waterfalls were let down. There was no extra decoration on it. The only thing not light on her was probably her lips colored in blood red which despite its striking color was only as prominent as her soul-stirring eyes.

She looked very young. Nonetheless, her face and aura somehow exuded maturity which also mysteriously had a tinge of freshness only present to young women aged seventeen to nineteen years old. Her body which already received lots of love from him became quite developed and now in clothes that hugged her figure, she looked still at her age, but more poised and appealing than many girls in their late teens and even early twenties.

Her skin was probably the envy of all women in the world. Despite never undergoing any treatment, derma magicking, or bathing in whatever oils and flower essences, her skin was so fair and blemishless to the point that if someone does not look closely, they would easily assume that she was poreless. This aspect of her even became more prominent due to the pieces of jewelry she put on her ears, neck, and wrists. The gems which twinkled occasionally due to the lighting of the place made her already glowing skin appear fairer.

There were still many areas that he could comment on, however since he was nevertheless a man, properly describing her every detail would be a challenge.

Anyways, no matter what descriptions were spouted and said, in the end, everything would just boil down to a single phrase - his Baby looked awesome!

Okay, fine, actually not only awesome. She looked drop-dead gorgeous that he would not appear biased or exaggerating if he was to say that Sofony was not inferior to any A-lister celebrities in the country in terms of appearance, especially now that she was dressed up!

Though he hated the stares she was getting from every member of the male species in the building, a part of him liked the hidden envious glare he was receiving from them, knowing that they were all jealous and questioning the world why they were not the one in his position. He knew that if only he was not Gio Albarez, these damnable creatures would have long tried to flirt with his girl, doing everything they could to at least get a smile from her. Thankfully, everyone knew him, so they didn't dare. These spineless cowards could only stare from afar since they were scared that if they really tried to even get near this very pretty girl next to him, they would just find themselves waking up as ghosts tomorrow.

Shortly after boarding his private elevator and reaching the second to the top floor of this luxuriously decorated building, they only walked a little towards their left to arrive at the lobby of this floor. Sofony had just started walking off to that place when she heard her companion spoke up.

"You're walking to the wrong direction, girl. We're going here," he said, casually using his eyes to gesture the correct way.

Gio chuckled as he watched a dumbfounded look appeared on her face when she looked over to the direction he was pointing to.

"You want me to come with you inside the conference room?" she blurted out in utter disbelief.

The man giving her an amused smile nodded to her question. He also showed a satisfied expression, liking how this time, despite being shocked, she did not stutter. Instead of answering her question, he just grabbed her arm and led her there.

Near the access controlled door painted with a huge Ever Victorious logo, one of Gio's secretaries, Jone, greeted them while using his badge to open the door for them. "Good afternoon, Boss and Miss Silver. Everyone's already inside. They're only waiting for you to start this conference."

Gio nodded but did not even glance at the older man. On the other hand, Sofony looked at him gratefully. The forty-something-year-old man wryly smiled at her, hinting that this was nothing new. Sofony's nervousness caused by the fact that she suddenly had to appear in front of many high executives and company representatives somewhat eased up due to this.

Before she stepped into the room, Jone told him, "Miss, we are quite caught off-guard by your attendance. But inside, a Silver Corporation is there. We tell everyone that you're also coming as your family company's representative."

Sofony nodded, not really putting the matter at heart. Anyway, she would just probably be watching Gio deal with company-related issues. Gio was the one who would have to face the executives. At most, she'd be just a wallflower.

The girl hardly had enough knowledge about the corporate world, mostly were which she heard from the private teachers assigned to her. Though she doubted it, however, if any need arises, it would be easy for her to get some necessary intelligence from her detestable system. She would have to pay points. But it was not really a problem because so far, she never ran out of it due to her second 'shady' skill.

A few couples of seconds later, the two stepped into the slightly noisy room. Sofony didn't know why, but the moment the people inside saw Gio coming in, the place immediately turned quieter than an empty church. Or actually, it was way quieter than a graveyard...
