263 She Who Died 1 The Sinners's Queen

Name:The Sinners' Queen Author:FallenBlue
It was still under the same blanket of darkness. The guards by the small booth at the left side of Greenpark Village's Western Gate alertly looked at the two men before him.

Even though not at the level of a military officer, the two guards would not lose out against those hired to guard a bank and was only a level below a VIP's bodyguards. They were also very professional and knew to not let anyone suspicious in.

The two men in front of the guardhouse belonged to what they considered as highly suspicious. Their dark clothes and coats made them looked like they were up to no good. For example, stealing... After all, this place was popular for being the home for the rich and influential. What better robbing targets would there be other than the huge houses and mansions in this subdivision?

"Sirs, I'm very sorry but Greenpark Village doesn't accept visitors unless you know someone from inside who will also help fetch you," reminded one of the white-uniformed men.

The tone used by this guard disguisedly said to not dream of entering to commit a crime.

While one of the darkly cladded men simply waited by the door of the narrow pathway, the other walked towards the booth and wordlessly slipped two IDs in. The guard there dubiously picked one up. A second later, sweat appeared on his face as he lowered his head and said, "P-please forgive my impoliteness. Please, enter."

The other man by his side made a 'huh?' face to him after being signaled to lift up the long movable metal pole barring the two men's entry. However, after being mouthed two words by his colleague, he also had cold sweat running down his spine.

With nervous hands and sweaty palms, the younger guard pressed the black button near his right hand. The silhouette of something long and giving off a cold glimmer rose up in the narrow pathway. The lack of lighting in that place blurred the image, but actually, after that yellowish metal pole was another small gate black in color.

While the first guard wondered why elite military agents suddenly went to their place, the one standing in front of the booth said in a cold tone, "Our IDs."

In a panic, the first guard stuttered out, "Ah, y-yeah. Here," and handed the two cards over in a manner like he was holding a very priceless treasure which he shouldn't think of leaving even the faintest scratch.

"D-Do you need our cooperation?"

"Letting us in is already the best thing we can ask from you two." In other words, don't meddle.

Standing by the entrance was the other man whose presence screams several times more volume than the one they had spoken to. He said, "Let's go."

"Yes, captain." Steadfast and soldier-like, the more amiable of the two replied.

It didn't take long for the 'elite military agents' to vanish into the darkness. Within the guardhouse, those left behind there exchanged glances with each other. The middle-aged guy with a square face and thick eyebrows muttered to himself, "I never expected to see real military agents in my whole life. But why are they here?"

The guard who appeared younger answered in a nervous manner. "I'm afraid there's a VIP inside who summoned them. Or maybe there's a very tricky criminal on the loose, a terrorist perhaps, who somehow managed to sneak in and hide somewhere there. Damn. I hope it's not the latter. I don't want to be blamed since I'm on duty."

Realizing what he heard from his colleague meant, the square-faced uncle widened his eyes and then cursed under his breath, "Damn... I also hope not too! I have one wife, and three naughty kids to support!"

They once again exchanged glances and then went to debate whether to report this incident to their superiors.

After deciding that those two elites wouldn't want to have their operations interrupted, one of them accidentally blurted out a slightly stupid thought, "By the way, if they are really from the special ops department, why are they walking the streets instead of driving a car? What if they are mistaken for ghosts later and frighten some of our residents?"

His partner gave him a resounding slap on the left shoulder, "What ghost! Be careful of your words! If they hear you, who knows when you'll just suddenly find yourself seeing ghosts yourself, as your new colleagues!"

"What? You brat! You mean to say, I'll die? How brutal and savage are special ops members in your tiny brain?"

"Stop it. We better act as if nothing happened. We're innocent and we're just normal uniformed people on standby."

"Right. Right."

...

In the gloomy mansion fifteen minutes away from that gate by foot.

The only brightly lit room in that spooky residence was the one the late daughter of the Dimatrionez couple used to occupy when she was still alive. Within a huge house that fully covered by shadows and despair, it was quite unnerving to view that scene from the outside.

As for what was taking place inside it, the situation was very weird. A man in a red raincoat still dripping from the rain squatted next to a roped-bound woman. Another girl lied near them, and opposite them, near the bed, stood a beautiful middle-aged woman dressed like a socialite.

The man was Chris who came for Alessa's rescue. The other girl was a stranger kidnapped for who knows what reason. The middle-aged lady was Alda Dimatrionez, Felicity's mother who went through a tragic and nauseating incident three years ago.

A few minutes earlier Alda was still saying she felt guilty for what Felicity made him go through. But now the woman was showing a crazy expression. She roared at the top of her lungs.

"A disrespectful boy you are! I'm not done speaking! What do you think are you doing!?"

For somebody subjected to an attack just half a minute ago, the woman sure reacted differently from usual. A normal person, or at least a normal fragile-looking middle-aged woman, would either cry or run out to get away from the assailant, but Alda did not do any of these. Instead, she angrily stood up and grabbed a dusty flower vase from the table there.

'Damn. Both this woman and Leo are crazy!' He thought as he kicked that vase in the air. Noises of a precious ceramics breaking reverberated.

There was no other option. If he dragged Alessa out of the way, that thing would then hit Sofony's sister's legs. The person was a stranger to him, still, he wouldn't want an innocent person to get hurt under his watch. Otherwise, what would be his difference from those other system users who relished on madness and wreak havoc without care for the lives of the innocent?

His eyes were alertly sweeping around the place for signs of any other parties. Yet even when he found none, with Leo Jones' involvement in the matter practically confirmed, he couldn't relax. How could he do so, knowing a teleporter could pop up any given time to kill him and the others?

'System, stop the timers...' He commanded after careful deliberation while he freed Alessa's hands and helped her take off the unnerving straps around her.

"You're choosing that woman over my daughter?" As if she couldn't believe it, Alda widened her eyes at him. Her hand was placed on her chest, looking like she did because she was having difficulty breathing.

'Her daughter, huh...'

Leo Jones met up with him before Maila Asuncion was interrogated by Sofony. The guy younger than him took over his spot after telling him some nonsense and rendering him unconscious. After that, he received the text message and immediately came over here when he verified that the girl could not be found anywhere.

His lips were drawn into a line. But he didn't stop untying the actress. He remained expressionless even though the woman closest to his position was making a blank face at him and Alda.

"Meyer's boy! I've made you come here not only to tell you what happened three years ago. I'm here to correct my daughter's mistakes to you. She's alive! I'm telling you! She's alive and will make up to you personally now! What are you doing? Leave that girl's side and be together with Felicity from now on!"

Alessa's lips were no longer sealed. Though feeble and couldn't lift her hands to help Chris untie her, she could now speak. Thus she weakly said, "... You want Chris to marry the dead?"

"Shut up!"

Another vase flew towards her which Chris annoyingly struck down with a hand. The madwoman crazily lifted up the whole table, causing the decors and other stuff atop it to fall down. Crisp sounds of glasses and ceramics breaking echoed throughout the place. Even the glasses of the picture frame that Alda lovingly held when he came in broke into numerous pieces.

'As expected, she's an immoral host. A mad one at that. But since when?' He concluded and asked himself seeing that Alda's strength was unusual. A bit of dread invaded his heart. Anything unknown and unverified would always leave a shadow of doubt in one's mind.

The gentle person of yesteryears huffed and gasped for air. It seemed lifting the table had taken a bit of toll on her body. Still, with bulging eyes and in a very sharp and shrill voice, she madly roared, "In my family, only that great sinner is dead! So who's dead again? Huh? I am alive! My daughter, too, is alive! And she's just right next to you!"

Two people, specifically two girls, gasped in shock, albeit one couldn't fully make a sound due to the masking tape on her lips. The only man in the place had the system cough out a cure for Alessa. It was after administering the injection that he heard the madwoman's words. He couldn't deny the slight dropping of his heart at this confirmation.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.

What should a man who had grieved so much for his dead love feel in this kind of situation?

"Are you injured?" He simply asked Alessa. Not even once did he turn his gaze to Steffy Mendez, the woman still appearing quite miserable by the cabinet's ruined door.

The girl being half-embraced by him got unfrozen and came back to her senses. At a loss due to the shock from what she heard from the unfamiliar madam a couple of meters away from them, she looked at him and shook her head. Then she returned her sight to the girl that shared a space with her for more than five hours.

'... She's Felicity?'
