Holley didn't know what to think. She was scared that Rex had really helped Black take Jason down. If that was really what happened, she didn't know how Jason had ended up.
"What did you do to him?" Holley asked anxiously.
She lost her composure. She figured if Ferry knew that Black had something to do with Jason's disappearance, he wouldn't let Black get away with it. Right now, she couldn't help but be scared for Black.
"Are you seriously worried about Jason? You're really going to tell me that you fell in love with that rogue?" Holley looked at Black with feigned contempt, for she needed him to leave her alone, or she didn't know what Ferry would do to him. Black felt as if a dagger had pierced through his heart when he saw the look on Holley's face.
Holley felt uncomfortable under Black's gaze. She blinked her eyes repeatedly, adjusted herself, and said, "Yes, I do love him. I want to marry him. What the fuck did you do to him? Tell me where he is right now!"
"Holley, we're meant to be! I love you so much! Why don't you feel the same way?" Black implored. He almost lost it when Holley didn't say anything. He approached Holley and grabbed her arm, holding it tightly.
Holley hated having to lie to Black but she had no choice. She took a deep breath and said, "But I don't love you. I love Jason. He's the one I want to marry. Why can't you understand that?"
"I know you're just being forced into that. Jason forced you to marry him, right?" Black loosened his grip on Holley. He smiled before continuing, "I already dealt with that. You don't have to worry about that anymore. You can relax. No one's going to blackmail you anymore."
"What?" Holley was shocked to hear this so she asked, "What did you do to Jason?"
"Don't worry. He's still alive," Black answered, a little displeased. He felt jealous upon seeing how anxious Holley got. After a pause, he said, "I wrote him a check. A big fat check. He agreed to walk away, so you don't have to deal with him anymore."
"That's all? Really?" Holley doubted. She couldn't believe Jason could be bought that easily. She thought Ferry was a cruel man, who didn't care for betrayal, and Jason was supposed to be loyal to Ferry. She knew Ferry wouldn't let Jason go that easily, and she figured Jason had to know that too.
Ferry was merciless. He destroyed anyone who got in his way.
"That's all. I'm not lying," Black said sternly when he saw tha
e came back to her senses, she already heard a car starting its engine. She figured that was probably where they had taken Black. Wasting no time, she turned and rushed back to her car. She slammed on the gas and sped off to chase the car.
She couldn't afford to let anything happen to Black as she knew Rex would blame her and make her life miserable.
Holley tried her best to tail the car ahead.
But after a few intersections, Holley lost track of her target.
Holley felt frustrated and she helplessly slammed her hands on the steering wheel. She didn't know what to do now. After a pause, she decided to call Rex.
She could only turn to Rex for help. Even if Rex didn't exactly have the best relationship with Black right now, she knew he wouldn't let anything happen to his son.
If Rex got involved, Ferry would falter. Ferry wouldn't dare do anything to Black so Black would be safe.
"Hello, Uncle Rex. It's me, Holley," Holley said as soon as Rex answered.
"Holley Ye! It's you again!" Rex didn't expect Holley would have the nerve to call him. He immediately got mad upon hearing her voice. He continued, "How dare you call me!"
"Uncle Rex. Please, listen to me. It's urgent! I need your help…No, Black, your son, needs your help. Go and save him, please!" Holley stammered. She was so anxious right now.
She knew Rex didn't have any patience with her. She knew Rex hated her, so she got straight to the point.
"That's none of your business! What does that have to do with you? I told you to stay away from my son. I warned you so many times. How dare you not follow my orders!" Rex barked.
