"Sher, why are you here?" Cassie asked Sheryl in disbelief, her eyes widening.
Leila smiled upon seeing Cassie. She knew that Cassie was a good friend of Sheryl's, and this was the perfect time to humiliate Sheryl in front of her friend. She glanced at Charles, but he didn't seem to care, so she decided to exaggerate things a little bit.
Leila sneered at Sheryl. "Sheryl, if I were you, I would be leaving right now. The longer you stay here, the more embarrassing it is for you."
"Leila, what are you talking about?" Cassie asked immediately.
Leila turned her head and shot a cold glance at Cassie, saying, "What am I talking about? Well, why don't you ask your good friend here what she's done."
Leila was so confident as she spoke, while Sheryl remained silent out of frustration. Cassie couldn't help but be worried when Sheryl didn't defend herself. She figured something really bad must have happened because she knew Sheryl wasn't the type of person to tolerate this kind of treatment unless she had really done something wrong.
The normal response to this was to get angry and defend oneself.
However, Sheryl didn't seem to care at all. She was just ignoring Leila. Cassie couldn't help but wonder if Sheryl had really heard Leila or if she just didn't know how to fight back against Leila. Either way, Cassie wasn't going to let Leila treat Sheryl like this.
"I don't care. Stop it, Leila. Right now. You're going to pay for what you just said." Cassie gritted her teeth and glared at Leila.
Leila didn't even take Sheryl seriously, not to mention Cassie.
"Your good friend Sher pushed her mother-in-law down the stairs because she got jealous. I wonder who deserves to suffer for that," Leila practically spat as she crossed her arms.
She purposely raised her voice so that everyone passing by could hear her. She wanted everyone to know what Sheryl had done.
"Cassie, let's go." Sheryl wasn't deaf. She heard everything. She just didn't want to make another scene. She wasn't in the mood to argue with Leila, so she just grabbed Cassie's hand.
"Now you'r

David didn't dare to ask, but he could tell that Charles was upset about something. Instead, he just stared at him and wondered what had happened.
After a while, Charles came back to his senses. He opened his eyes and said to David, "Keep a close eye on Leila. Make sure nothing happens to my mom."
"Got it, President Lu. I already have men watching her." David was relieved when Charles finally said something.
However, Charles fell into a stormy silence again, which made David worry. So he anxiously asked, "President Lu, is Mrs. Lu doing okay?"
"She's fine. Don't worry."
"Thank God!" David breathed a sigh of relief.
He knew that Melissa was important to Charles. If something happened to her, he didn't know what Charles would do.
"Make sure you keep the CCTV footage from the Dream Garden. I need it for when I finally confront Leila when the time's right." Charles gritted his teeth, and then he asked David to drive him to the company.
Sheryl, on the other hand, was very frustrated too. She sat in Cassie's car, not uttering a word.
She had never thought that the situation would turn out like this. Sheryl had almost wanted to kill herself when Charles had gone missing. She didn't know what she would have done if David hadn't told her that Charles was safe. After that accident in Malaysia, she realized how much she really cared for Charles.
