Holley knew that Black loved her, but she just needed to confirm if it was true one more time.
"Of course, I trust you." Holley put on a bashful smile.
The two of them continued to chat for a long while. After this, Holley felt much more assured.
Holley had initially thought that Rex was just pretending to give way, but Black told her that his father had thought it through and that this would be the final decision. This was a piece of good news for her—she wouldn't have to worry about Rex disrupting her plan anymore.
"Let's go eat!" Black suggested upon checking the time.
At the mention of food, Holley suddenly felt hungry.
After they walked out of the office together, the employees started to gossip.
"Is Ms. Ye back with Mr. Hu again?" one of the female employees asked.
The person across from her raised her head and murmured, "That's none of your business. Get back to work, or you'll get into trouble!"
"All right!"
Meanwhile, Black took Holley to one of her favorite restaurants, which served seafood.
It was a delectable meal. During the meal, Black suddenly remembered something. "Holley!" he exclaimed. "I'm so sorry. I forgot that you're pregnant. You're not supposed to be eating seafood right now."
Holley suddenly turned nervous at the mention of her pregnancy. She managed to calm herself down a bit and said in a sweet voice, "But I want to eat seafood. I can't even remember the last time I had it. It's fine!"
"Really? But I read that it's not good to eat it during pregnancy." Black was still worried.
"It's fine," said Holley, grinning at Black. "I've done some research. It's going to be fine. After all, it's going to be our first baby. I wouldn't risk it if I didn't know any better."
"Okay. I need to take better care of you. I can't have anything happen to you or the baby," Black said rather firmly.
Ho
w!" Leila then happily left.
Charles put down the pen in his hand, and his face gradually turned grim.
'Leila's such a horrible person. I can't just let her do whatever she wants!' he thought to himself.
"Knock! Knock!"
"Come in!"
Charles sounded angry. When David came in, he looked puzzled. He hesitated a bit before he started, "Mr. Lu, is there anything wrong?"
"No, everything's fine. Do you have any news about Ferry?"
"Not really, but there's something else you might be interested in. Rex has allowed Black to go out!" David knew the situation between Holley and Sheryl, so he had also been watching Holley.
"Is Holley going to do anything? Is she in touch with Ferry?" Charles didn't expect Holley to be so courageous as to mess with Ferry.
"I already asked someone to monitor her. We can make use of the Hu family, but it's not the right time yet!" David knew that Charles wanted to get rid of Ferry for good. In order for them to succeed, they needed to be careful with their plans, and they needed to act cautiously.
"All right. Off you go."
Charles waved his hand, gesturing for David to leave. Suddenly, he remembered something and called him back again.
"What about at the hospital? Any updates there?"
