246 Miss Gentera Keeps Up With Current Affairs

Coincidentally, the Jade Dragon Flag National Competition was taking place at Fukuoka Budo Gym at the moment. There was heavy traffic outside the gym with much hustle and bustle.

Moreover, the Jade Dragon Flag National Competition this year was a bit special. Hence, the crowd was much bigger compared to that of previous years.

The overwhelming number of people allowed Manatsu Hokuto to blend with the crowd. Upon arriving at Fukuoka, he let out a breath of relief. He was sure that the policemen would not dare make a big fuss here as it would be very chaotic, with the large crowds present.

This made it very hard for the policemen who were tracking him down. Above all, it was also the last day of the Jade Dragon Flag Competition, the day where the winners for the men's and women's categories would be decided, with individual matches and the award ceremony too. That explained the congestion of people at Fukuoka Budo Gym.

This made Kento Nara as a reader, curious because Miss Gentera once said that there would be a climax to the story at the end of the third volume and the beginning of the fourth volume. That was why Kento Nara was anticipatorily antsy. He wanted to see how Manatsu Hokuto would cause trouble at the Jade Dragon Flag Competition.

With that in mind, he kept on reading.

It was Detective F's first time tracking down Manatsu Hokuto. He planned to secure the perimeters completely so that Manatsu wouldn't be able to escape.

F was just the detective's code name. His full name was Flame, meant to burn all the criminals in the world. He was famous, well-respected in the FBI, along with being a past member and having solved many mysterious cases. This was also why the Japanese government hired him - their own police force had tried and failed to arrest Manatsu on multiple occasions.

The reason why this detective could solve so many cases was because of his intuition.

Though Flame was worried when he was informed that Manatsu had snuck into the gym, this worry was quickly dispersed when he saw the list of contestants. He told the anxious policemen, laughingly, "Kimura-Kun is here, we have nothing to worry about. Of course, we must follow up as well to prevent Manatsu from escaping. We must catch him alive."

Kimura-Kun? Kento Nara was lost deep in thought. Flame had mentioned this name previously when he was invited to the Japanese Police Department, saying that his friend Kimaru-Kun was going to take part in the Jade Dragon Flag Competition. He had wanted to visit that friend and had decided to solve the case simultaneously when the Japanese Police Department presented it to him.

It seems like this 'Kimura-kun' is a key person.

All of a sudden, he was struck by a thought as he was pondering over it. Wait a second!

Kimura?

Isn't that... the champion of the Jade Dragon Flag Competition this year, Kimara Kazuki?

When he finally figured it out, he did not know whether to laugh or cry... Truth be told, he was never interested in Kendo. Any interest stemmed from Miss Gentera's interest in it - she had mentioned that she was going to Fukuoka to watch the Jade Dragon Flag Competition when she took leave.

Kento Nara never cared about Kendo, viewing it as just another sport. He would not go to watch the matches as he didn't like it. However, when he found out that his favorite author, Miss Gentara, had gone to watch the competition, as an avid supporter of the book, Kento Nara attempted to understand more about it.

He would never have thought that Flame's friend, who took part in the competition in the novel, would also have the family name of Kimura.

Miss Gentera really keeps up with current affairs.

——

Flame and Manatsu Hokuto had been rivals for a long time, but Hokuto would always find a way to slip from his fingers every time. This made Flame all the more curious. For every single plan that he had ever set up, Manatsu always found the weakest part of the plan and managed to escape. He suspected that Manatsu Hokuto was probably hiding a huge secret about himself, or maybe there was someone between them who leaked information to Manatsu Hokuto.

However... the department had already formed a special division to arrest Manatsu. There were only four people in the group, including Flame himself. The others were all people whom Flame trusted completely. If there were no spies in the group, then Manatsu was finding another way to get the information.

With that thought in mind, Flame checked the time and called Kimura-Kun.

When the call went through, Flame delightedly told him, "Kazuki, I have arrived at Fukuoka, Japan. I heard that you are participating in the Jade Dragon Flag Competition today. I'm here to cheer for you and boost your morale!"

——

Pfft... Reading up till this point, Kento Nara shook his head and gave a wry smile. It seemed that Miss Gentera was really a fan of 'Kimura Kazuki,' she even put him as a character in her novel, "Loading File of Tokyo."

——

"What's the matter?" 'Kimura Kazuki' said coldly. "Get straight to the point."

Flame clearly understood Kimura's personality well, so he stopped beating around the bush and briefly described the situation. But before he could even finish, he heard Kazuki asking, faintly, "The fugitive that you are talking about, does he have a wide face, with a scar on his face, short hair, dressed in a black shirt with a height of about 1.78m…?"

Flame was dumbfounded. He was about to say something when he heard the sound of a gunshot from the other end of the call, followed by shrieking and screaming. Flame grew grim upon hearing the sounds, asking, "Kazuki, you should be able to tackle him with your skill and strength, right?"

"He has a gun in his hands."

"Please!"

After a long silence... "I'll try my best."

"Act fast."

Flame had worry written all over his face. There are more than 20,000 people in Fukuoka Budo Gym, Manatsu Hokuko is really a lunatic to open fire publicly in a budo gym.

The chaos that was happening at the budo gym had obviously been reported to the Special Investigation Group. They looked worriedly at Flame.

Flame took a deep breath and said, "I trust Kimura-Kun."

——

Kento Nara was displeased with the story.

Why the heck would you trust a layman to track down a malicious criminal?

However, he soon stopped his critiques as he kept on reading.

This was because Miss Gentera had described in great detail how powerful 'Kimura Kazuki' was using Flame's memories as the medium.

Then the real Kimura Kazuki came to his mind.

He seems to be quite calm as well...

Kento suddenly had another idea.

Would Miss Gentera have gone to see this 'Kimura Kazuki,' asked about his experiences, and then went home to write about the experience of the champion of Jade Dragon Flag Competition using the style of The Spring and Autumn Annals?

He felt that it was highly probable.

Moreover, the Jade Dragon Flag Competition was over, and Kimura Kazuki was the winner... It seemed that Miss Gentera was trying to stay relevant by making use of his success.

For that sole reason, Kento Nara, as an editor, had high admiration for Miss Gentera.
