312 Went Up The Mountain Again

Kimura Kazuki did not put much thought into the matter, as it was just a whim after all. If he were to do so, he would have to waste brainpower on playing mind games, which was not something he was good at. He would rather choose to enhance his current strength. He would think about it in the future.

Ikioi Ito and the others were helpless upon hearing his words. Their emotions were running high already, but Kimura Kazuki had suddenly put on the brakes at that critical moment, making them want to curse.

However, currently, Kimura Kazuki had the most say among them. Besides, there was nothing they could do about it, as it was impossible for them to overpower him in a duel, even if they wanted to. All they could do was to behave themselves, like lap dogs.

After that, Ikioi Ito and the others stuck to Kimura Kazuki's side, saying flattering words about him from time to time. Kimura Kazuki had to tell them to get out of his way as he found their flattery a little off-putting.

Kimura Kazuki was finally relieved after the trio left reluctantly.

Time passed by quickly, and it was already the third day in the blink of an eye.

Even Kimura Kazuki had began to pay attention to the progress of the incident after resting for two days. What surprised him was that the fire brigade that came with the police had stopped going up Kanayama to save people. Maybe Ryoto Amagasaki did not report it to his superiors?

Kimura Kazuki was right. Ryoto Amagasaki had concealed one of the most important things. He did not reveal to the police that Daisuke Kojima had went up to Kanayama for treasure hunting. He simply said that there might be a cave under the gazebo.

When he was being pulled up, he made a hasty decision to hide the information about Daisuke Kojima. Instead, he said that he had gotten the information from the Internet, saying that treasures were buried here, which was why he climbed down to have a look.

Makoto Honda was dubious. After all, he had met Kimura Kazuki and the others previously, who came to Kanayama to hunt for treasure. In fact, he also asked the village chief of Kobayashi Village after having some insights into the matter. He knew that there were many people who came to Kanayama to hunt for treasures every year. The village chief had tried to ban the activity, but it was futile as he could not do much against those who ignored the ban.

So, the chief of Kobayashi Village decided to turn a blind eye at the situation and let them go up, as long as they did not get into accidents on the mountain.

However, he did not expect that when Daisuke Kojima disappeared, the people in Kobayashi Village would be helpless in this situation.

In the wee hours of the third day, Kimura Kazuki noticed that something was off when he got up for breakfast. There were quite a number of people who were up and about, even though it was early in the morning. There were more than 30 firefighters in their uniforms who were gathered on the street.

Seeing this, many people started to talk about them while having their breakfast. Some reporters were even more excited, they had wanted to come forward and engage in small talk, but they were stopped.

Soon, all the 30 people took their equipment and headed toward Kanayama. It seemed that Ryoto Amagasaki had finally spoken up.

Kimura Kazuki glanced around him as he thought about it, but he could not find Ryoto Amagasaki, as he was probably still in the police station.

The firefighters returned in the afternoon. Meanwhile, he could see Makoto Honda talking on his phone with a gloomy face.

Kimura Kazuki's senses had become more keen after he started cultivating, and they came in handy at this moment.

He sat quietly on a chair under the tree house, with all his attention on Makoto Honda's words, who seemed to be reporting their findings to someone else. Soon, he had gotten some information from their conversation.

The firefighters did find a cave under the gazebo, and that a total of five people went down the gazebo. They found that it was an empty cave after entering. Nonetheless, the most important thing was that these five firefighters had been walking in the cave for more than an hour, and yet they were still turning around at the exact same place.

Makoto Honda was really confused by the situation, and sent a few more people down into the cave. Even so, they could only wander around the cave, and were unable to make any progress into deeper areas. This situation had really surprised Makoto Honda. In the end, he decided to go down by himself, and immediately retreated after verifying the situation.

Of course, according to the experts on hand, it was probably because of a strong magnetic field in the cave which affected the human body and led to hallucinations. Hence, although it seemed like they had been walking in circles for a long time in the cave, they were actually turning round and round the cave over a short distance.

Makoto Honda was really dubious about this. He felt that if this was the case, and Daisuke Kojima did go into this cave, for he should have been wandering outside as well. However, he did not see Daisuke Kojima in the cave. Nor did he see his dead body. Therefore, Makoto Honda thought it was unlikely that Daisuke Kojima was in the cave, and that it was quite a bizarre situation that they kept going round in circles. Makoto Honda was not interested in finding out the secret of the cave, so he had no intention to investigate the cave anymore.

However, as the person in charge of this case, all he could do was to report the situation with that statement.

Kimura Kazuki felt happy and satisfied after getting that information. After thinking for a while, he decided not to tell Harunaka and the others about the news, as they were not strong enough. Besides, Ikioi Ito and the others kept flattering him from time to time in these past few days. They could always find ways to brag about him when they were chit-chatting, which made him feel helpless.

He knew what Ikioi Ito and the others were thinking about, so he decided to simply draw a few patterns and told them to copy the patterns. They could start learning how to draw talismans when they could draw out well-defined patterns.

This was why Ikioi Ito and the others locked themselves in the room and never went out for the past few days. Harunaka and the others were a little confused, but they did not think much of it and simply went on with their sightseeing in Kobayashi Village. It was as though they were really here for a trip, instead of hunting monsters on Kanayama.

At two o'clock in the middle of the night, Kimura Kazuki pushed the door open and went out without waking up Ikioi Ito and the others.

Soon, Kimura Kazuki went up the mountain. He had chosen to go up today because he knew that it was highly unlikely for Makoto Honda to conduct a search operation on the mountain tonight.

Over the past two days, the members of the fire brigade had been combing Kanayama with a fine-toothed comb over and over again. Hence, there was no need for them to conduct the search again. In addition to that, the fire brigade had even searched the cave and found nothing. Therefore, it was unlikely that the policemen would go up Kanayama in a short time. Because it was unnecessary… They would rather make use of the time to interrogate Ryoto Amagasaki.

Kimura Kazuki went up the mountain carefully, holding a nylon rope in his hand. He had to bring the rope along as he could only enter the cave by going down from the gazebo. He did not need any other tools, a study coil of rope was more than enough for him.

Walking along the familiar road, Kimura Kazuki reached the destination in no time. Before he could approach the gazebo, he heard voices talking.

Kimura Kazuki stopped walking and frowned slightly. Could it be the firemen? It has been a few days, and yet they still haven't given up?

However, Kimura Kazuki soon realized that those people standing before him were not the firemen, but the villagers and village chief of the Kobayashi Village instead. Kimura Kazuki hid in the dark and saw the gray hair of the village chief. His face was usually teeming with kindness and affability, but it had turned expressionless now.
