142 The Spliced Faction pt 2

Ginji and Souta waited patiently for Draig to return unsure of what exactly it could be that he needed to prepare but they hoped it would be something able to stand against the difficult odds they would be facing. Surely the Feratu wouldn't disappoint them, he was a bizarre person boasting many oddities in his repertoire so perhaps he did have something in mind.

Draig however was in his room behind the Talisman curtain painting across his blanket a particularly large Rune it seemed that his plan would perhaps be using this giant rune to destroy the Spliced Faction. However the Feratu's thoughts were never easy to understand.

Draig picked up the blanket before rolling up the cloth and walking down stairs and looking at the duo.

"Well what are you waiting for, let's begin" smirked Draig as he began to walk out of the Dorm regardless of if he had his following behind him.

Souta and Ginji rushed to keep up as the others who had joined this new faction also hurried despite their injuries to back up their leader.

The sight of the Unaffiliated marching across the grounds with Draig at their lead caused many people to become shocked as they hadn't expected the rumors to be true nor the Feratu's forces to be so large already. It was something to report as many went to deliver this information to their own factions.

Draig received many odd stares of his own because of the blanket he was carrying in his arms as he marched forward but none dared to question it let alone the ones following. They had absolute faith that this person wouldn't do something so odd for no reason especially when they were marching for what they expected to be a grand war between factions.

Chuckling to himself as he thought of this he couldn't help but shake his head.

'Only fools follow blindly but I suppose fools are what I need in this moment. . .' thought Draig as a few hours passed before they saw the large valley resting in a canyon.

Looking at the entrance into the canyon you could see a large camp the people around were like a band of jolly bandits as you could hear their loud chatter even from where they stood as they wrestled and danced drunkenly around fires.

Draig seeing this couldn't help but sneer, what kind of army was this. A bunch of useless, greedy morons. Surely they had to have received the information they were coming, they had made quite the show of it and hadn't even rushed here.

'If this was the old World I would be welcomed by the sight of people lined up weapons drawn ready to kill. . . . but this. . . this is just tragic. Just disappointing' thought Draig as he had finally expected a great battle against unrealistic odds only to find his hopes dashed by these insufferable oafs.

Draig however had still come all this way and they were in fact hoarding the location that he needed in order to attempt a full manifestation with the Founder Avatar.

Sighing to himself Draig unfurled the blanket and through it out, unlike what would normally happen in such a situation the blanket flew out like a stone flung through the air before it affixed itself in the air and a massive barrier erupted in a giant flash of light alerting the jolly little Deva below to their presence.

The barrier encircled all of the Unaffiliated under Draig's banner allowing for them to have a proper shield to face these incredible odds.

It was truly quite grand the way this giant sphere looked on that hill with only a blanket in front of them.

Souta and Ginji however were looking at this in awe, Ginji in particular as he had been wondering why the Feratu would carry such a thing out to battle with one of the largest Factions within the Deva Academy.

'A blanket. . . . maybe we should call it a Security blanket . . . .' thought the Grave Forger with a chuckle.

However Souta was just staring in pure awe of Draig's skill.

'The Master is truly amazing, I have never seen anything so beautiful and heavenly in my life. . . . could the Master be a God. . . . .' thought Souta as he began to look at Draig's back intently as he was seriously considering the thought. It didn't make sense for someone to be able to do the things that Draig was capable of doing, the talismans were not just any old ability that anyone could learn.

If this had been the case then it would be widespread because of it's ability to do things like this and empower words.

Quickly the youth's thoughts went to the fact that Draig had shown three different Avatars, something unheard of as well. He knew this wasn't a matter of training this was a matter of someone being truly unique among the populace but then why would something like this only occur now.

The more he thought the more he began to believe Draig was the human incarnation of some kind of deity which only served to make him more reverent of the Feratu, he silently promised to share his observations with his fellows after they had finished with the task at hand.

"Now for Phase two, everyone run forward. We are going to smash their camp and pillage everything they have now." stated Draig causing those Unaffiliated behind him to cheer before charging forth only to find that they wer in fact pushing against the wall of the shield which began to roll making Draig smile.

It was a theory he had because it seemed that only the one who activated the Protection rune could reach through the barrier and interact with things but any other would find themselves touching a solid wall.

'I think I will call it Crimson Boulder. . . .' thought Draig as followed behind easily staying within the sphere's protection.

Meanwhile below Draig's faction those people began to panic as they hadn't expected an attack like this.
