61 Draig Journeys Forth

Draig had finished healing by the time night fell, taking this as his chance he planned to leave without causing a commotion. He just wasn't the type to enjoy those types of things, however he couldn't leave without a certain Wolf's notice.

As Draig landed on the City wall he found that he was beat there by a familiar face.

"So you really intend to leave" asked Kira as he looked towards the moon.

"That is my intention" answered Draig as he stared at the broad back of this Old dog.

"When will you return" asked Kira carrying a bit of sadness in his voice.

"I'm not sure but I will return, I have some unfinished business with a few fellows here. It wouldn't do for me to let them keep running about" stated Draig projecting his smirk through his words.

Kira finally turned around and looked at Draig deep in his eyes as if looking for a definate answer but finding none.

"Then I wish you well... Master" said Kira softly as he stepped forward and placed his hand atop Draig's head showing his fondess for the youth.

Draig couldn't help it as he waved the hand off and turned his back on the Old wolf.

"Since when does a pet pat his Master's head" chuckled Draig as he began walking towards the edge of the wall.

"Since I feel this may be the last time I see you" stated Kira causing Draig to pause in his steps.

"Don't be ridiculous, where I am going there is no one who can handle my natural superiority" laughed Draig before he became Mist in the night wind leaving Kira staring at the place he had stood until the morning sun had risen.

'Don't die brat, my old heart couldn't handle the news' thought Kira as he turned away ready to finish the task of uniting the tribes and await Draig's return.

Draig travelled by himself once again, he couldn't help but feel something was lacking as he had grown accustomed to the presence of his subordinates. However he wouldn't turn back, this was something he needed to prove to himself.

"So the Feratu Heir has abandoned his beloved pets" came the chuckle from in front of him as Asagi seemed to appear out of thin air.

However contrary to the fox's expectations Draig didn't even so much as pay him a glance as he walked by completely ignoring him. Stunned by being snuffed so easily Asagi tried again but with an attack but was met with a swift strike winding him before his neck was grabbed tightly.

"Wait! Please. I didn't come to attack this time, I swear" stated the Fox in a panic.

Draig stared unamused as the Fox had done exactly that when Draig had walked past him.

"Then tell me what do you want" demanded Draig squeezing the Fox a bit tighter in his grip.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.

"There's a demoness in the Forest slaughtering it's inhabitants without reason. Even my Fox Clan has suffered from it, I'm the strongest in my Clan but even I can't face her wrath. You however, you can beat me and tame those mutts as easy as breathing air. I know I have accosted you in the past but this time I seek your assistance" cried Asagi as he thought of that horrid creature and her little subordinate.

Draig heard the word Demon and was instantly hooked, looking at the fox he wrapped a leash around Asagi's neck. Something he had prepared before setting out with his pets in case they got to rowdy.

The leash seemed to disappear as a red choker was left around Asagi's neck with a little bell. Staring at it Asagi felt humiliated but it was no time for him to focus on his pride.

"Will you help me" asked Asagi ignoring his grievance at the moment.

"Take me to this Demon" said Draig as he watched Asagi fly off while he stood there with a smile as he waited for the Leash to take effect.

Asagi didn't make it twelve feet before he seemed to be clothes lined by an invisible force, hearing the Feratu behind him erupt in laughter caused him to burn in anger but he didn't say anything and waited for the Vampire.

"Don't be so angry, just a precaution. I still have not settled our conflict and would hate to see you leave before that has been cleared up" chuckled Draig following the Fox closely.

It didn't take long for them to arrive and it was indeed as Asagi had said, there were corpses of miscellaneous monsters laying all about causing a toxic smell to invade the atmosphere.

Making use of the opportunity Draig collected samples just in case there was something to be had from these slaughtered mongrels.

"Well where is this Demon, I see nothing here but a junkyard of monster parts" asked Draig as he activated his Appraisal hoping to find anything of note.

"I-Im not sure, she was here not that long ago" stuttered Asagi as he looked at macabre display before him, it was clearly his first time seeing such bloodshed en masse.

"Send your clones to search then" stated Draig yanking the invisible chord getting the Fox's attention.

'Of course' thought Asagi as he regained a bit of his composure.

Suddenly the clearing was filled with Asagis, they all ran out in search of the Demon that had slaughtered these monster's so brutally when Asagi was suddenly assaulted by a backlash of some sort. His body shook violently as he hacked up a mouthful of blood before pointing in a random direction, Draig dashed suddenly indenting the ground causing Asagi to be drug behind him by the leash.

'God Damn You Feratu' growled the Fox in his head as he tried to right his position so he could join the sprint.

However he found himself crashing into Draig's back as he stopped suddenly and stared at the Demon before him.

'It can't be' thought Draig as he began to regret coming with Asagi.

"There she is hurry stop before my Clan is slaughtered" yipped Asagi gaining the Demon's attention.

"Draig" called the demon causing her subordinate to stop too as she began to smile.

'Finally we found him' thought Winter

"You are trespassing in my Domain" stated Draig dangerously ignoring the fact that he in fact recognized this girl turned Demon.

"Sylvie is just cleaning up the forest" stated Sylvie as she went to cleave another Fox kin but found her blade stopped by Draig's trusted cane.

"Slaughtering my pets" stated Draig as the gathered Fox kin saw Asagi walking behind Draig assuming this was their savior.

Sylvie seemed to stop after hearing that and looked at all the bodies, soon she resumed her normal form though the buds of horns could be seen developing and a few dark veins had appeared on her skin. These did not go unnoticed by Draig as he carefully examined them with a slight glance.

"Sylvie didn't know" responded the girl with a bit of regret in her voice.

"Slaughter that bitch"

"Revenge for our Kin" came the calls of the Fox kin

"Silence" barked Asagi with a nervous glance towards Draig, he was caught by a invisible noose and he felt there might be more to this leash than what it first appeared. He thought Draig to be far more crafty than any of his kin or he, himself could be.

Seeming to pick up on the situation after seeing Asagi's glance the fox kin fell silent, it seemed their would be hero was actually a bigger monster than the one before them.

"Leave" stated Draig hoping to end this encounter as soon as possible.

Sylvie seemed to lose her blank facade as she sent a venomous glance towards Draig.

"Draig will come too" stated the girl with a tone of finality causing Draig's brows to shoot towards his hairline at the way this girl had spoken to him.

Asagi heard this tone and thanked the heavens for this girl not knowing her limits, he knew that someone like Draig wouldn't take this kind of tone kindly and hoped to see a slaughter.

"What she means is we have come here looking for you" interjected Winter fearing the worst from the way Sylvie had spoken.

Draig allowed himself to be surprised twice now.

"Why have you come for me Mortal" stated Draig showing the clear distaste for the word on his tongue.

"Sylvie remembers you" stated Sylvie as she looked at Draig expectantly.

"Of course you do, I enchanted that sword for you" stated Draig not getting the girl's point.

"No, Sylvie remembers you from a long time ago" stated the Blank faced slayer.

Draig merely stared at this girl before turning towards Winter hoping for an actual explanation, this seemed to go against what Sylvie had expected as she slammed her foot onto the Feratu's toes causing him erupt in surprise before that quickly turned to scalding anger.

Winter seeing the situation was going to reprimand Sylvie but a thunderous crack was heard as the Slayer was knocked from her feet into a tree. This gained the praise of the Fox kin as they cheered at the strike, Asagi recieved praise as well but he couldn't feel any pride at having brought Draig here. The Vampire having mentioned their unfinished Business, it didn't bode well for his future but maybe Draig would take him in as he had Kira of the Wolf Kin.

Sylvie went wide eyed from the strike befor she gazed at Draig with an angry pout, removing herself from the tree she took on her Demon form and returned to Draig with her sword in hand.

"You are coming with Sylvie, there is only this option" stated the girl truly not recognizing that she was not prepared.

Draig couldn't believe the audacity of this girl, had the world changed since he was defeated by those Aries or perhaps he was misinterpreting her words.

"Sir Enchanter, please wait. Sylvie calm down, let's talk about this" started Winter but when Draig cast his fearsome gaze at her she shrunk back a bit.

"I follow no one, let alone some girl pretending to be a monster" stated Draig causing another round of cheers from the Fox kin.

Sylvie stared blankly at Draig for a long time before she lifted her sword intending to swing but suddenly found it's weight bringing her to the ground and pinning her. The girl was in shock at this turn of events as was Winter, she had never seen this happen before.

"Stupid girl, I was at odds with you Guilders when I enchanted this sword for you. Did you not think I wouldn't prepare in case you came for me? Truly naive, I could end you right here and you wouldn't be able to stop me. It seems leaving the Dark Plains was truly in my best interest if the humans are forgetting their place" stated Draig causing the Fox kin to yip excitedly from the turn of events but that soon ended when Asagi turned towards them begging for silence but it seemed it was for not as the Fox found his head rolling through the air and the Fox kin found themselves getting launched backwards by steel hoops circling their necks.

Those that tried to run were quickly caged and soon caught, the Fox kin of Asagi's clan had dwindled in number drastically due to Sylvie's attack but that just made it easier to tame them.

"So pathetic can't even defend against two mortals playing as monsters, you sicken me. If you can't survive by yourself then you will serve for protection. Head to the Dark Plains and seek out Kira, tell him the Heir of Feratu sent you" stated Draig causing the Fox kin to gasp from hearing that name before they quickly bowed thanking the heavens for this kind of mercy.

Draig had spoken the truth the Fox kin were never anything to worry about besides their illusions but with the help of Asagi they could have become something of a threat under his leadership.

Pulling a Familiar pocket book from his side little clinks could be heard as his mosquitoes revealed themselves and deposited various Blood samples into it's pages. Draig didn't check it as he would have in the past however, he had made his decision to not focus on the Tome.

Winter watched the ease at which Draig had gained servants and couldn't help but feel this was a terrible decision.

Suddenly Draig dodged as he watched a large piece of metal fly over his body, Sylvie was standing and her arm seemed to be bulging as those blue veins lit up brightly.

"Girl stop now while you are ahead" stated Draig as the weight began to increase again however Sylvie dropped the sword causing Winter to gasp.

"You are coming home with Sylvie" growled the girl her demonic face adding it's own flare of cuteness.

'What' thought Draig certain he had heard her wrong again.

Winter intervened again actually jumping betweent the two.

"Sylvie and I have come here due to a promise that you two had made a long time ago in the orphanage, we hope you will come hom with us" stated Winter as she too eyed the Feratu, strength would always attract the adoration of women it seemed.

Draig hearing her explanation actually went wide eyed, as forgotten memories tried to surface but it was mere glances and flew by too rapidly for him to make anything out clearly.

"I know nothing of such a promise" stated Draig as he decided it would be best to abandon this encounter, the demon slayer made his fell odd.

"You said you would marry Sylvie" stated the Demon Slayer as she grabbed Draig's shoulder.

Draig found her grip to be extremely sturdy as he felt the crushing pressure.

"We both promised" stated Sylvie seeing that Draig really remember her anger left her and instead a sadness took over.

Winter looked towards Draig with a pleading look.

"Come home with us" called Winter as she hugged Sylvie from behind to comfort her.

Draig sighed knowing he would regret it but certain if it really was as bad as he thought then he would disappear as Mist in the wind.

"I will join you..... but I do not agree to marriage or any other nonsense. I will leave when I see fit and there will be no discussion" stated Draig stating his terms for going along with these two mortals, he didn't know why but he almost felt that weakness from his Feratu blood failing again.

'So I was in an Orphanage? Why cant I remember that' thought Draig as Sylvie brightened though it was hard to tell as she resumed her usual blank expression.
