71 Training the Enchanter pt5: Bloodpulse

So far a week had gone by for the training, there hadn't been much bloodshed since the initial battle and Draig had become frustrated with his little captive.

'This damn girl' thought Draig as Sherry tried feeding him once again.

He had placed his cursed ring on the girl's finger so she couldn't escape his detection if she tried to run but contrary to his expectations the girl had stuck around and become an annoyance. His initial reasoning was to figure out what had caused the pulse in his blood when he had come into contact with her in the forest but still found nothing. There hadn't even been a hint of another reaction which had caused the Feratu to become even more frustrated.

"Say ahhh" said Sherry as she offered Draig another bite of the food she had prepared for him.

Draig cast a dangerous glance towards the girl which had always worked but contrary to it's usual effect the girl seemed to become more ecstatic each time he did so.

'The Gods must be holding a grudge against the line of Feratu, this I am certain' thought Draig as he opened his mouth to sigh but found it stuffed with food instead.

Reluctantly he swallowed before standing abruptly.

"Come along" stated Draig as he began walking in a random direction.

'He's so shy' thought Sherry as she giggled before following, she had become a rather different person compared to the initial meeting the two had.

Outside in the Township those who had chosen to avoid the training were watching from special mirrors formed by Zarra to project the happening's inside the barrier.

Sylvie watched as one focused on Draig and Sherry causing the Demon Slayer to stare blankly but the aura wafting off of her caused the others who had been viewing to back away.

'Sylvie will crush you' thought the girl as she continued to watch.

"Sylvie.... is everything alright" asked Winter as she tapped the girl's shoulder.

Sylvie turned to her and the ice mage nearly leapt in fright as scales had begun to appear along her skin and her horns became more pronounced.

"Sylvie is fine" stated the Demon slayer turning back to the Viewing Mirror.

With Draig though he had found a way to alleviate his boredom in the form of a group of awakened from the Township.

"Two options lay before you" started Draig as he presented his tome to the group.

"Commit to me the offering of your blood or die" stated the Feratu his voice conveying his willingness to kill.

'He's so cool, this is what a true vampire is' thought Sherry as she followed behind coloration building along her cheeks.

"Wait we're on the same team" started an Ogre looking Awakened.

"Is that your answer then" asked Draig as his anger was reaching the point of boiling over.

"W-wait, we'll do it." interrupted a small man with a slight discoloration to his skin.

Draig nodded and felt a bit of his anger alleviate as the trio indeed dropped their blood into the Tome, though he had hoped for more resistance.

"Come along" ordered Draig as he began walking again hoping to find some of the Criminals as they would at least fight back.

However unexpectedly the trio decided to follow along as well, Sherry glanced at them and sneered.

'Riding on the tail of Draig's coat, disgusting lesser creatures' thought Sherry, it seemed the girl was beginning to understand a little more about being a Vampire from Draig's personality not to say it was a correct view.

However things became odd when the surrounding wildlife seemingly disappeared and the scent of blood began to fill the air.

"Oh look, more flies enter the spider's web" came the high pitched laughter echoing in the surroundings.

"An assassin I assume.... how quaint. Show yourself and offer up your essence or die while I collect your essence" rang Draig's voice causing the laughter to stop as several different corpses dropped hanging from wires their blood dripping to the forest floor.

"Take them" came the panicked response causing Draig to actually lose his composure as he felt another pulse ring through out his blood.

'What the hell is happening, it wasn't the girl' thought Draig casting a side glance to Sherry.

"Make yourselves useful and gather their essence, as for you hiding in the trees" stated Draig leaving his sentence hanging as he blurred from his position and a masked person was sent into the ground carving a crater.

"I gave you two choices, now I will choose for you" stated Draig appearing again stomping on the person's throat.

"Forgive me" gasped the Assassin as he struggled to try and cut his hand and offer his essence.

"Too late" sneered Draig lopping the fools head clean from his shoulders and collecting the lifeblood leaking from the wound.

The trio behind him sighed in relief seeing the result of refusal was dealt swiftly and mercilessly.

"Little Faker, grab his belongings" commanded Draig seeing as the girl wasn't the cause for the pulse he didn't need to be particularly concerned with her.

Sherry nodded and turned to the Ogre like man.

"You heard him, grab the bag and keep up." ordered Sherry turning around to follow Draig once again.

Draig ignored the tag a longs and delved into his thought's trying to discern the source of the pulse, every time it had happened before he had seen a leap in strength. Thus his desire to find the cause was overpowering.

'If it's not the girl, then what is the origin' thought Draig trying to remember what was similar about both the events.

He walked for hours without finding another group, his lack of victims was causing his anger to grow once again.

That was until he remembered something he had gained from the Founder's knowledge that had been assimilated.

"Strom" called Draig in revelation causing the group behind him to freeze at the sudden outburst.

'The Strom branch, their ability to burn the blood can evolve to become the Bloodpulse. Such a nasty little gimmick, but to awaken it is another question entirely' thought Draig as the Founder didn't have to awaken his Bloodline abilities thus lacking the needed information.

Looking back at Sherry he contemplated testing a few idea's he had on her but thought better of it.

'He can't stop peeking at me' thought Sherry as she felt herself becoming hot in the face to the point she was getting dizzy.

"Uh boss" came the hesitant response from the little odd pigmented man.

Draig turned around assuming he was 'boss' in question.

"Sherry fainted" commented the little man.

Draig didn't say anything and merely turned around to keep walking, assuming there was an unspoken command the trio picked up the little Draculina impersonator and carried her until they realized they were leaving the forested area.

Eventually they ended up where Zarra had gave his speech.

"Set up camp" ordered Draig deciding to make use of these three useless wretches.

"Yes boss" came the chorus as they quickly set up makeshift tents and built a fire.

Draig sat in thought once again but this time it was a plan to bring in test subjects to experiment if it was indeed the Bloodpulse of the Strom branch he was sensing.

'The Bloodscript of the Aries, the Gaze of the Altis, The Bloodsmith of the Vald, The Bloodfortress of the Cercel, and The Bloodpulse of the Strom. Though there has to be a way to confirm my theory' thought Draig as he listed the abilities he had at the moment and the one he believed he was awakening.

"You with the three eyes" stated Draig pointing out the skinniest of the three.

"Y-yes boss..." quivered the man.

"Go and make a ruckus" ordered Draig causing the man to look at the Feratu in confusion.

'Does he want me to entertain him' wondered the man as he began dancing about like a fool while doing horrible singing.

"Idiot, go and make a ruckus elsewhere. I need you to get the attention of anyone who will come and lead them here" growled Draig glaring down at the man.

"Of course boss, how silly of me" answered the man quickly running and yelling out curses to anyone who was listening speaking of their mothers and sisters in such a way even Draig felt offended from the profanitys being hurled.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.

"Boss your meal" offered the Ogre of a man.

Draig accepted it but sniffed for precaution, he wasn't interested in being poisoned again.

'Now we play the waiting game' mused Draig as he ate the coarse meal.
