"Hello, is it fine if I share a table with you?" While I was enjoying my bones and playing on my scroll, which I have forgotten about, a girl suddenly asked me. Looking up at the girl with a lazy face, I met her red eyes. Looking her over, she had red-orange hair, red eyes, cute round face with small lips. She was about 1,6 meters in height. She also had the same clothes on as me. Behind her, I could see a dragon tail with red scales on it. I did try to use analysis on her, but she had a blocker on. Not that I needed to use that to know she was strong as feeling her aura. She is still an ant in front of Mom's aura, though.
"That would be fine. I got bone-ly, anyways," I said. Getting no reaction, I continued putting a bone in my mouth. "I guess if you don't mind me eat bones. We can share the table,"
"I don't mind," She said, nodding. Looking down at the table, I started moving things around, making space on the table for her.
"Sorry, they haven't come and clean the table in a while," I said, stacking plates on each other.
"That's okay, thank you." She said, sitting down. After sitting down, she didn't say anything. Not wanting to start the conversation, I went back to toying around on the scroll.
"Ooh, is that the new scroll that came out last week?" Seeing me fiddling with the scroll, she asks.
"I have no idea, really. I got this today. So, most likely," I said, still with the bone in my mouth.
"If you are struggling to use it, I can help you." Hearing her question, I looked up from the scroll.
"And why would I ask a stranger to help me with something like this?" I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
"Wow, know that I see your eyes. They kind of look scary." She said, smiling.
"If you say so," I said, shrugging.
"What's your name even, foxy." She asks with the same fake smile.
"Nova and yours?"
"Kayda."
"What a unique name," I said.
"I can say the same to you." She said.
"Sorry, Kayda. We are quite busy today." The blond waitress said, interrupting us.
"Don't worry about it. You should know by now I don't really care in waiting, and Nova here is good company." Kayda said, making me narrow my eyes at her again.
It didn't surprise me that she didn't have any reaction to my eyes, but her carefree attitude is throwing me for a loop. Most Dragonoid's aren't so nonchalant. They are more prideful and hasty. There are only two explanations for that she is impossible strong or she isn't really a Dragonoid.
Thinking it over, I thought about asking her about it when she was done ordering.
After a while, she finally finished her order. She looked back at me, using her fake smile again, irritating me.
"You aren't a Dragonoid, are you?" I said, looking her in the eyes.
"Haha, now way would you say that." She said with a mischievous grin.
"Haah, well, it's obvious. Your attitude isn't fitting, and you aren't stronger than my mother. The only thing left is you are faking that you are a Dragonoid or you are a pure dragon. If you tried to fake it, you did a poor job leaving the wings out. Leaving that you are a pure dragon. A young one as well as you don't have wings." I said, pointing at her.
You would think that Dragonoids and Dragons would have the same attitudes, but they don't. Dragons can live for more than a thousand years. Making them more carefree while Dragonoid's don't live that long, resulting in having the opposite attitude. They were by far the hastiest race out there. Dragons might be more prideful than Dragonoid's, but they don't act violent base on their emotions, but Dragonoid's do.
It is a bit confusing if you think about how earth described them. I remember it like this. Dragons not impulsive. Dragonoid's are impulsive.
However, there is an exception to this rule. The royal family is more level-headed than any other Dragonoid's, so they don't act on their emotions. They think more about the masses than themselves. As expected from country leaders.
However, all of them hate to be under the command of any mortal that will never change, and by a mortal, I mean any other race there is. Their human appearance also differs a bit. Dragonoid's receive their wings when they get their classes, but Dragons receive theirs when they meet certain conditions. There is a lot of different conditions like accepting themselves fully. Apparently, they don't do that easily, but what do I know.
There was also one my mom told me about. Suppose their soul mate accepts them or trusts them, something like that. They would receive their wings. Knowing my mom, it most likely is something she made up.
"Haha, is that so. I am not stronger than your mother? Well, that isn't surprising, seeing as you being a demon fox and all. However, I am an elemental sage, so I won't say I am out of the running completely." Although she tried to play it cool, she still had some anger in her voice after hearing my explanation.
"Hmm, no, you are. There is no way for you to win against her. Your aura is way weaker than hers." Hearing my explanation, she looked at me, intrigued. Seeing her anger fade away instantly, I got thrown for another loop. I knew she was a pure dragon now, but she seems to be a real special one.
"You can see someone's aura?" She asked.
"No, I can feel it," I said. I have no idea actually how to deferment how strong she was base on her aura. All I knew she was way weaker than mom. It was something new for me. After all, I just evolved like 2 days ago.
"Ooh, is that so," She said, beginning to show a glint in her eyes. Luckily before anything could happen, the waitress came to our table, bring more food for both of us.
"Here is your food." The waitress said, putting 3 plates of meat that mainly consists of fat in front of Kayda and another bucket of bones in front of me.
"Thank you for the food," Kayda said, digging in forgetting about our conversation.
"Haha, food is more important, I see," I said, eating on my own bone.
"What? I might be a researcher at heart but, food is still more important to me." Kayda said between bites.
"A researcher? That explains the glint you had in your eyes." I said, sighing in relief.
"Aah, sorry if something intrigues me too much, I get like that," Kayda said apologetically.
"That's fine. I have seen worse. What type of researcher are you. Body? Magic? or something else." I ask, looking at her.
"Knowledge in general. Well, at the moment, I am not a full-day researcher." Seeing that I was confused, she explained further. "You see, I work for the black ops. So, I go on missions every once in a while."
"Ooh, so you're a black ops soldier. What rank?" I ask, laughing internally at how easily she is giving me info about herself. If it weren't for her being stronger than me, I would have beaten her black and blue for being so open to a stranger. It did surprise me that a pure dragon was under the command of someone else, though.
"I am a level 680 elemental sage, a legendary class. Where do you think my rank sits." She said, a bit annoyed.
"Haha, that's true you said that. Sorry, I didn't mean it to annoy you miss Dragon." I said awkwardly, completely forgetting she already said that.
"Tsk, miss, I hate that word. I am 35, thank you." She said, getting more and more annoyed.
"Wow, that really is young for a Dragon," I said, surprised. She was still an infant for Dragons.
"Shut up. I can beat your ȧss any time of the day. You damn fox." She said, narrowing her eyes at me. It would have been intimidating if she didn't have food hanging out of her mouth. Making it more comical than intimidating.
"That's true. After all, I am only 13," I said, laughing at her wide eyes. Pointing at my mouth, I said. "You have something here on your mouth, by the way."
"You're only 13 years old!?" She said, cleaning her mouth.
"Yeah, how old did you think I was?" I ask, grinning.
"Like 20 something. Not 13!?" She said, calming down.
"Now that's just rude. I am still in my youth."
"You saying I am old."
"Huh, no, you're a dragon. Of course, your still very young and a strong one at that."
"Snort, yeah, sure. I might be strong for my age, but I am a failure as a dragon. Getting kicked out of their own clan because they accept a mortal as a friend."
"Huh? Were you kicked out of your clan because you made a friend or because you joined the black ops?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"I joined the black ops after I had no place to go," She said with her head down. Most likely waiting for me to laugh at her.
"Huh? Just because you have a friend that is a mortal, you are a failure? That sounds so dumb. I understand being under someone's command, but friends, what has that to do with pride. " I said, annoyed and angry. Something so dumb gets her labeled as a failure.
I know for a fact that she is the strongest dragon in her age group. You know when I said dragons take everything slowly. Well, that includes getting power for themself.
"I thought it was also like that, but my clan head was like, no, you are a failure." She said, irritated.
"Tsk, What a bonehead. I think your clan head is too old of a lizard to see properly. Sometimes I think pride is more a curse than a curse itself." I said.
"Haha, that is bonehead," She said, smiling, and for the first time, I saw her genuine smile.
'She really is pretty when she laughs like that.' I thought, seeing Amari calling me. I sighed and stood up. Putting money on the table, I walked next to Kayda. Patting her head and I said. "Well, Kayda, the Dragon. It was fun talking to you, but I need to find my sister. Thank you for all of the information, by the way."
"Haha, no problem," She said. Seeing her not realize what I was doing and said.. I chuckled and walked away.
