'I think we are only an hour out of Armillian. We were doing so good.' I thought coming to a stop. The reason for that is that a few kilometers in front of us, there was a fight going on between some luxurious carriages and bandits.
"This is all your fault, Nova! I had the best nap of my life, but you just had to run into these dumbasses." Kayda suddenly said, jumping off my back running towards the carriages.
"How the hell is it my fault we ran into these guys. I was just following the road." I yelled at Kayda while changing into my human form before running after her.
"I am blaming your troublesome luck," Kayda yelled back, not slowing down for me to catch up.
"I sear she is almost like a person who will always run to help someone in need," I said sarcastically.
Running closer to the carriages, I realized that there were exactly 7 of them while about a hundred bandits were fighting around against the far outnumbered guards. It also seemed like half of the guards were struggling to keep the bandits back.
It's more accurate to say the guards who were wearing silver armor struggled while the white ones had it a bit easier. However, it seemed like the bandits were more concentrated on the guards wearing white.
"You help the knights take care of the small fry, and don't underestimate them, okay. These guys know what they are doing," Kayda said, suddenly appearing next to me before disappearing again.
"I always forget how much they hold back around me," I said, hiding my surprised expression at Kaydas' speed.
Sighing to myself, I Flash step to the closest bandit and aiming at his neck with an ice dagger.
"Ugh?" Widening his eyes at my appearance, he tried to dodge the dagger but was ultimately too slow.
"I see what she meant. Unfortunately, that was my full speed, and he still had a small reaction to it," I mumbled, not waiting for a second before Flash stepping between the bandit ȧssassinating them.
"Enemy attacking from behind!" Suddenly a big furry figure shouted, pointing in my direction who just killed my 10th bandit.
"Tch, I was doing so well," I said, getting on guard holding both daggers up.
"We got back up." One of the guards said, relieved at hearing the shout of the big guy.
Boom?!
Just like that, we all heard a giant explosion and saw a scorching beam going up into the sky.
"Did she just kill the boss or something?" I said while running at the distracted bandits.
"Ugh!" Suddenly hearing someone grunt in pain, everyone looked in the direction it came from only to see me busy stabbing the next person in the temple.
"Get her!" The man from before shouted, pointing his giant Ax at me.
"Tch, if only I were more silent, I would have gotten more," I said, dropping the dagger before creating a scythe.
"Watch for her re-!" Then, looking at him, who started shouting, I Flash step towards him, swinging my scythe sideway, decapitating him and others that were close enough before he could finish.
"You shouldn't be that off guard," I said, spinning the scythe in my hand while looking for my next target. Not long after, I had to jump away from my position, dodging an ax flying into the ground.
"You useless bugs. Can't even take care of one measly demihuman." The big guy said, appearing next to the ax he threw.
"I thought Kayda would take care of you guys," I said just to see another scorch beam appear, taking the head of the ax guys with it. Then, seeing the corpse fall over, I started to chuckle. "Ah, never mind. I will need to say my thanks later."
"Big Baby Ax!" The guys around yelled, also looking at the corpse.
"Retreat!" Suddenly I heard a shout from behind me. Turning around, I brought the scythes' handle up to block the sword that was directed at my head. Unfortunately, the scythe wasn't strong enough to stop the sword completely and broke, but it gave me enough time to dodge the sword, or so I thought I dodged it.
"Ugh!" grunting at the feeling of my throat being cut. Dropping to one knee and grabbing my throat, I glared up at the person. It was a woman about the same height as me with brown skin, black braided hair, and green eyes looking down at me with amusement. She was wearing leather clothes with multiple holes to show that she was in a fight. She also had one arm missing, but it didn't seem like that bothered her much.
"Oh, you actually reacted to that nicely. Sadly, you will still bleed out. However, this will be a good enough present for that problematic dragon." The woman said, cracking a grin.
"Let's move." She said, looking away from me before running away.
"Yes, ma'am!" all the bandit shouted, running after her.
"They are running away."
"We won!"
"FuBlegh!" Trying to talk, I suddenly threw a mouth full of blood up. Because I was annoyed, I forgot about all the blood that was still pouring into my throat. After throwing up for a couple of seconds, I felt small hands cupping my throat. Not caring, I Flash step away from the person and looked at the person with a raised katana at them only to realize it was a healer from the church.
"Don't worry, I am here to help." the sister said with raised hands showing no aggression.
"No, I am fine. It's not that bad," I said, surprising her. taking my hand away from my throat, I dispelled the
"How? I saw that woman cut your throat just now, though." The sister said, walking up to inspect my throat.
"I have self-healing, so don't worry about it," I said, smiling at the sister. Then, looking closely at the sister, I saw she had light peach skin with ocean blue, golden blond hair.
"Well, aren't you a pretty thing?" I said with a smile, looking at her.
"Oh, thank you," she said with a small blush.
"I don't think it's the best time to flirt." A deep voice said from behind the sister.
"Ah, sorry, Archbishop, I will get right back to work." the sister said, running away after giving me a small glance.
"I wasn't flirting, though," I said, looking at the knight in white.
'he is probably also from the church. seeing as his armor is so white if you ignore the blood on it.' I thought, looking at the appearance of the newly arrived Archbishop.
"I don't care. Your companion is at the front carriage being treated." the knight said with a small bow.
"Being treated? what happened to her?" I said, not waiting for an answer running to the front where most of the voices came from.
"Oi, let go of me. I said I am fine. It's only a scrape, for fuċk sake." Kayda shouted with clear annoyance in her voice.
"Just let them heal you, Kayda," I said, walking closer to her while gesturing for her to sit down.
"What happened to you! I told you to be careful!" Kayda said, glaring at me.
"I was? Oh, you mean the blood." I said, touching my throat before continuing. "Yeah, that big woman you were fighting, she got me. If I didn't get a scythe up fast enough, she would have reached my spine."
"Oh, that's good that your fine, but why would that bitch come after you," Kayda said with a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"Don't know, but she did say I will be a present for you, not knowing that this wasn't enough to kill me. But got to say you got her good taking her arm off," I said with a grin.
"tch, that was like my sixth time doing it to that bitch." Kayda said, clicking her tongue before standing up pushing the healers away from her stomach.
"You can't move around yet. We haven't healed you completely." one of the sisters said, grabbing her shoulder.
"Still not done? How big was the injury then?" I said, looking down at where the sisters were doing their healing.
"It is literally nothing," Kayda said, lifting her shirt up, exposing her well-toned stomach. Mine was still better, though. On her stomach, you could see a small blood trail that came out of a 3 cm cut wound.
"Yeah, that is nothing, and why is it taking you guys so long to heal it?" I said, looking at the sisters.
"We don't know why it's so hard to heal that." One of the sisters said, looking down.
"AAh, you know what it might because you are a completely manifested dragon now," I said, looking at Kayda.
"Not really Sirone can heal something like this with only a touch. Even if it was me, she was healing. Just go heal other people. I will be fine," Kayda said, shaking her head while just waving the sisters away from her.
"Really, huh then, I don't know. But, whatever, are you ready to go again? Everything seems to have calmed down here, and we aren't needed anymore." I said, looking around at everyone taking things away again.
"Yeah, it seems so. Then let's go," Kayda said, turning towards the direction of the city.
"Wait! where do you think you're going.. I order you to guard my carriage!" An annoying and oddly familiar voice shouted from behind us.
