"They weren't all talk after all," I said, looking at the dismantled Devil lovers on the floor around Sammy and me.
"Yeah, how did they endure all that," Sammy said while her expression switch between happiness and shame.
"don't overthink about it. These guys are crazy in the head." I said, rubbing her head.
"What do you mean with that. And don't rub my head, you crazy fox." Sammy said, pushing my hand away.
"I thought you felt bad because you broke under my torture, but they didn't," I said, smiling at her.
"that's not... yes, compared to what you did to them, my torture was like a picnic," Sammy said, looking away.
"Oh, come on, you yourself also tortured them. There isn't much we can do about it," I said while gesturing to the pile of vertebrae bones next to each of the corpses.
"you're one to talk about enjoying it," Sammy yelled, pointing her finger to my new masterpiece.
"what's wrong with my masterpiece?" I said, confused.
Looking back at the corpse hanging between the lamp poles I made. The carcass was entire skinned except for the hands and feet. The skin that was taken off was hanging on his arms and wire that was connected to his hands, making it seem like wings.
The same was done with his internals except for his lungs, for they were taken out from his back. I also froze the organs and skin making it have a white glimmer. His eyes were removed, and the sockets were burned black, making it an eery seen with the blood going down the corpse's face.
"Kayda, what do you think I should call this," I said, ignoring the glare from Sammy.
"A Devil's Angel," Wendy said from the side.
"You were watching?" Kayda said, surprised, looking at the pale Wendy.
"Yeah, I thought knowing Sammy was watching, I should also, but it was really disgusting," Wendy said before turning away.
"You are a bad mother. Letting your child see something like this." I said in a lecture-like tone while glaring at Grandenzil.
"What!! You're the one who did it in front of her! You should have known that she was too young for this." Grandenzil said back, glaring back at me.
"You're never too young to learn things like this, and I am younger than her. 2 years actually," I explain, trying to sound-wise.
"Nova, shut up," Kayda said with a sigh.
"Yes, ma'am."
"Let's get back to some important things. Grandenzil, what are you planning for the future right now?" Kayda said, looking at Grandenzil.
"And why should I tell you?" Grandenzil said with a raised eyebrow.
"Hmm, you know Nova there healed your daughter, right? So, you owe her one, and she is quite knowledgeable when it comes to the body. So, you never know if she might have slipped in something into her that can kill her in an instant." Kayda said, gesturing towards me.
'Uh, Kayda, I didn't do something like that yet.' I thought, holding my neutral expression.
"You dare," Grandenzil said, glaring between Kayda and me.
"Nah ah, don't do something you will regret," I said, holding my hand up.
"Now, tell me, what are you going to do?" Kayda said, waving off her killing intent.
"Fuck this night. First, I try and get revenge but lose one of my squads to a brat. Then my own client betrays me, and now I am being blackmailed." Grandenzil mumbled to herself.
"Hey, you are a bandit group, so nothing will be fair if it comes down to it," I said, annoyed.
"that's true, but seeing you keep Wendy hostage like this, you also want something from me."
"Grandenzil, I asked you what you are going to do from now," Kayda said, getting more annoyed.
"I will try and find my client and get revenge for betraying us. Then just do our normal things." Grandenzil explains with a shrug.
"You quite laid back."
"Am I?"
"Yes."
"Didn't I say to shut up, nova?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Now, Grandenzil, I want you to look for them, and while you are at it, remove the word bandit from your organization," Kayda said. Seeing Grandenzil have a complicated expression, I knew she understood the deeper meaning of her words.
"..."
"If you don't want Wendy to see her mother die in front of her just before joining her in the afterlife, then go for it. Don't listen to me," Kayda said, gesturing towards me.
'What? What do you want me to do?' I thought, looking at Kayda with a raised eyebrow.
"Aah, now you see how it feels if you don't tell people your plan huh," Kayda whispered, looking at me with a smirk.
"I see. I will try my best from now on," I said, nodding at her.
"Aah, good to know. Anyways we are going to Bandin. See you there in a week, Grandenzil, with some sort of update." Kayda said before turning towards the south and started walking.
"Tch."
"Hey, Grandenzil, don't worry too much. Just do as we said, and your life will be way better. We might even get rid of that bounty on you and everyone in the crimson bandit if you do. Well, except for the people who rȧpėd someone." I said, adding the last part with a sadistic smile. Turning to Sammy, I put my hand on her head. "I hope you forgive me someday. We might actually become good friends if you do."
"..." not saying anything, she just looked up at me.
"Oh yeah, here you go," I said, remembering I need to heal her. Biting my thumb, I dragged it over her forehead and nose.
"What are you doing!?" Sammy yelled, feeling me smear blood on her face.
"See you guys in Bandin," I said before flash stepping towards Kayda.
"Did you heal Sammy?" Kayda said, not looking at me.
"Yes, so... can you catch me again," I said, feeling my strength leave my feet.
"Tch, I guess it's my turn to care for you," Kayda said, looking at me fall on the floor face first.
Thud!
"Hey! I asked you to catch me!!" I yelled at Kayda, annoyed.
"You asked, and I wasn't in the mood to catch you," Kayda said, grinning at me.
"Great wife material you are," I said with annoyance.
"ha-ha, I will pick you up now," Kayda said, laughing at me before changing into her dragon form.
'I really can't be mad at her. It was probably funny seeing my fall like that.' I thought, feeling a tail wrap around my waist before it picked me up.
"There, I picked you up happy," Kayda said, looking at me.
"Yes, I am happier now. Now let me on your back." I said, using all of my strength to point at her back.
"Nope, you will fall if I do that," Kayda said just before starting to flap her wings and taking into the air.
"Fuuuuuuuck!!"
(13 hours later)
"There, we will camp here for the night," Kayda said, landing in an open patch in the forest.
'Finally!'
"Uhhaa."
"Are you okay?" Kayda said worriedly, seeing my limp body still being dragged around by her tail.
'Of course not!'
"Uahege."
"Hey, say something," Kayda said, putting me down gently on the ground.
'I am trying to.'
"Ughah."
"What happened?" Kayda said, changing into her human form. Running to the ground, she inspects me only to see my eyes having swirls in them.
"Sigh, she is only dizzy," Kayda said sigh in relief.
'This is so irritating. Fuck!!' I thought in rage.
"Uhahae."
"Well, guess I will have to make camp for us."
'Uh, never mind, I would like to stay like this for a while longer. Preferably until she is done with the camp.' I thought, snickering to myself.
"Uhuhuh."
(2hours later)
Clap Clap.
"There, all done. All that left is the tent that's in Kitsunas' storage." Kayda said, look at the bone fire prompting me to sit up.
"That took you way, too long to set up," I said, getting a glare from Kayda.
"How long have you been recovered," Kayda said, walking closer to me.
"About an hour ago," I said, slowly standing up straight.
"And you didn't think of helping me?"
"Nope, getting fling around for 13 hours isn't fun, you know," I said, taking 2 chairs out of the storage putting them in front of the fire.
"You had chairs?" Kayda said, looking between the logs that were meant for us to sit on and the chairs.
"of course, I have. I have everything we need for camping."
"Does your storage even have a limit?" Kayda asked with a tilted head.
"I don't know haven't reached it yet," I said, shrugging.
