PHA – Chapter 211 – How to Traumatize a Figurine
After the situation over at Alice’s side calmed down, Rosa and Marion finally dared to approach her.
Currently, beneath Alice’s feet were the ruins of Marion’s villa. However, despite seeing the state of her house, Marion didn’t seem particularly perturbed by it. After all, she was a relatively wealthy person. While it might hurt her bank account a little to lose a villa, it wasn’t to a point where she would agonize over the loss.
Rather than her villa, Marion was more interested in what had just happened. While looking at Alice with glittering eyes, she asked, “Alice, that black dragon just now…was Dragon’s Shadow, right? Were you fighting with the Demon King just now?”
“That’s right. I was fighting with the Demon King just now, so I ended up turning your house into this state. Sorry,” Alice apologized. She also couldn’t help but sigh, knowing that there was no way she could gloss over this incident.
The black dragon created by Andusia’s Dragon’s Shadow had caused a huge commotion, and many people in the neighborhood had already seen its form. Anyone who knew a little about the Dragon’s Shadow taboo would know that the fact that the dragon created was colored black meant that the dragon was composed entirely of dark mana. Meanwhile, the Demon King was the only person in this world capable of utilizing such a large amount of dark mana.
Since Marion evidently knew about Dragon’s Shadow, Alice felt that it’d be pointless to try and trick the woman. So, she gave an affirmative response to the woman’s question and kept the Hero’s Sword wielded in her right hand:
“As you can see, I am the Hero. I suspected that the person who cursed you was the Demon King, so I searched your house for clues and actually found her hiding here. Although we fought, I ended up letting her get away.”
“Please help Alice keep her identity a secret, Miss Marion. If the demons discover her real identity, they might send assassins after her,” Rosa said. Although Alice was standing before them in her real appearance, Rosa believed that Alice must have used her disguise when fighting the Demon King. So, she thought that the demons and Demon King still weren’t aware of Alice’s true identity.
“I see. So Little Alice is the Hero,” Marion said, retracting the muddled expression she wore previously. She was aware of the importance of this matter, so she nodded and earnestly said, “I understand. I promise not to spread your true identity, Little Alice.”
Although Marion still sounded a little unreliable, Alice had no choice but to trust that the woman understood the severity of the situation for now. She also believed that Hatter would most likely invite Marion to talk about this matter later. In addition, seeing that Andusia had taken action against Marion without hesitation despite Marion being her descendant, it should more or less prove that Marion didn’t have any connections with the demons.
“Others might be coming over here soon. Remember not to reveal my identity as the Hero,” Alice said. She was still wielding the Hero’s Sword in her right hand, so her enhanced senses allowed her to sense that people were approaching from a distance. These should be the villa district’s residents who had successfully escaped from their ruined houses. So, she hurriedly stored the Hero’s Sword away and reminded Rosa and Marion, “Just tell them that a fight between the Hero and the Demon King took place here. If they ask for details, just tell them that we didn’t get a clear look.”
There was no need to worry that Andusia might make a fuss, either. Before Rosa and Marion had even approached her, Alice had stuffed Andusia’s mouth with a cloth she found amidst the ruins and shoved the Demon King into her pouch.
As for the Milu Rabbit hanging on the other side of Alice’s waist, although it had woken up because of the fight, Alice had knocked it unconscious again with a smash from her fist.
…
After the disaster relief team conducted a cursory investigation of the situation, the matter was concluded, and the cause of the disturbance was deemed to be a fight between the Hero and the Demon King. The Gryffin Kingdom’s government would also be paying for all damages caused by the fight. It had already been several hundred years since a large-scale war had taken place between the humans and demons. So, the various human kingdoms had their national treasuries filled to the brim right now, and this meager loss was nothing to the Gryffin Kingdom.
Meanwhile, just like Alice had anticipated, Hatter had invited Marion over for a private talk, and the content of their discussion was naturally about Alice’s identity.
Alice felt that when it came to being a king, Hatter was quite the reliable fellow. He was always there to clean up the mess she made.
However, after this incident, Alice felt that she should try to limit the destruction she caused as much as possible. She also wondered if there existed a spell that could be used to limit the destruction she and her opponent caused to her surroundings.
After all, even single-target taboos were typically strong enough to impact an entire residential district. If, one day, she encountered an enemy that decided to use taboos with a large AOE, their fight would most likely destroy an entire city.
However, this was something that couldn’t be accomplished within the short term. Alice wasn’t even sure if there existed a spell capable of reducing the destruction caused by a bombardment of taboos. She could only try her best to search for such a taboo.
Rather than focusing her attention on finding such a spell, Alice felt that she should prioritize dealing with the Ninth Demon King, who was stuffed inside her pouch right now. Hence, after helping the disaster relief team led by Catherine rescue all of the trapped residents, Alice gave Catherine the excuse, “I think I can still feel the Demon King’s presence,” and quickly left the villa district.
Now that Alice had healed Marion, she had fulfilled her promise to Elodie. In that case, she could have Elodie help her contact the dogkins and see if she could borrow their chief totem to search for the Demon King’s Power.
Initially, Alice had planned to have Luna create a mana crystal and store her mana inside the crystal. Then, she could use Luna’s mana as a medium to search for the Demon King’s Power. After all, most beastkins were against outsiders visiting their tribal grounds, so Alice wasn’t sure if she could bring Luna with her. On the off chance that the dogkins allowed only one person to enter,
However, Alice had a much better option now. Even if the dogkins didn’t allow her to bring someone with her into their tribal grounds, they couldn’t possibly stop her from bringing a figurine, right?
After separating from the disaster relief team, Alice didn’t return to the March Academy immediately. Instead, she rented a room in a nearby hotel.
Alice might have sealed Andusia’s mana already, but there was no saying whether the Demon King had any hidden cards prepared. On the off chance that Andusia could use these hidden cards even without having access to her mana, it’d be terrible if she used them inside the academy. The commotion caused might put Alice at risk of having her identity exposed. Hence, Alice decided to hold a proper conversation with Andusia outside first.
After opening her pouch, Alice pulled Andusia, who currently wore a pale expression, out of the small pile of panties. Then, she removed the cloth gagging the Demon King’s mouth.
Meanwhile, after having her gag removed, Andusia promptly yelled out in a panic, “You pervert! What are you trying to do to me?! Stay away from me!”
Andusia had her impression of Alice changed completely when she realized that the young Hero was carrying a pouch full of panties around with her. To make matters worse, since she was buried amidst the pile of panties, even if she didn’t want to, she still managed to sniff out a fact—these panties didn’t seem to come from just one person.
This discovery led to Andusia raising Alice’s threat level to a whole new level. Now, she didn’t even dare to speak harsh words to Alice, only daring to howl powerlessly at the perverse Hero.
However, Alice couldn’t help but scratch her head in confusion when faced with Andusia’s words. She couldn’t understand why Andusia was having such an intense reaction.
