Chapter 264 - The Face that Launched a Thousand Ships

“It’s just like the face that launched a thousand ships – the Wargod has gone all out for this one woman. I’m so envious of that woman in white.”

“Dozens of clans have been killed or exiled, and all because someone in their family said the wrong names together and angered the Wargod.”

“Speaking of which, that Feng Tianlan is sure cold-blooded, delivering justice so swiftly…”

One of them started talking about how Feng Tianlan had killed the Minister of Justice’s daughter and slit the other girls’ mouths. Even though they had a lot more to say about this, when they thought about how those girls had relayed Feng Tianlan’s message despite their wounded mouths, they all gulped and didn’t dare continue.

After chatting some more, someone said weakly, “Haven’t you all realized that the person who wears a white dress most often in South Peace City is Feng Tianlan? Perhaps she was…”

“Don’t make wild guesses. Wargod and Feng Tianlan both love wearing white, and both of them have extremely vicious tactics. If you say anything wrong and catch the attention of either of those grim reapers, you’re dead meat.”

Within a single day, Si Mobai and Feng Tianlan had become known as frightening and vicious as demons. Previously, there had only been one demon, but now there were two. You couldn’t just simply gossip about just anyone these days.

Feng Tianlan stopped listening after they changed the topic and ate slowly with her head lowered. Si Mobai had used this method of silencing a few individuals to warn the public, effectively stopping all of the rumors that he liked Tu Xiupei and all future talk along the same lines, except for one woman in white.

Si Mobai looked at Feng Tianlan, but she didn’t look at him. This was who she was to him. She was everything, and even rumors couldn’t involve anyone else. It would be this way always.

After they finished dinner, night fell. Si Mobai brought Feng Tianlan back to Feng Manor, but instead of heading for Heavenly Phoenix Court, they made their way toward the rundown courtyard where Tu Xiang and his family were now living.

“Why are you bringing me here?” Feng Tianlan frowned.

Si Mobai calmly replied, “I want her to know that she’s not even as good as one strand of your hair.”

“You want to bring me to see Tu Xiupei?” Feng Tianlan’s brow deeply furrowed. She didn’t agree with this.

“Everyone should have some degree of self-awareness.” Si Mobai bent down and gently kissed her cheek. “I don’t care if you disagree.”

He knew what she was thinking, but this matter had to be sorted. There was someone here who thought too highly of herself and wasn’t self-aware at all. He couldn’t believe that she thought that she was better than Lan’er.

“Si Mobai.” Feng Tianlan looked up and saw how one side of his face was still swollen. The imprint of her palm could still be seen so clearly. Since they had reached this point, he wasn’t going to give up now.

Si Mobai landed on the roof, then took Feng Tianlan’s hand and gently kissed her palm. “Not as painful as your hand.”

Since he lived for her alone, it didn’t matter what she did – he would never abandon her.

Then, Si Mobai knocked on Tu Xiupei’s window. Feng Tianlan thought about how Si Mobai always tumbled through the window and into her bed at night, but never courteously knocked first to inform her.

“Who is it?” Tu Xiupei had just untied her hair when she heard the knocking sound. She asked again warily, but there was no response, so she walked over to the window.

Si Mobai hid Feng Tianlan behind him. He was afraid that Tu Xiupei would try to hurt her since Feng Tianlan had humiliated her earlier that day.

“Which idio-” Tu Xiupei opened the window and saw Si Mobai standing outside like a fairy descended to earth. She immediately froze. “War…Wargod.”

Had he come here so late at night to confess his love to her? Or to apologize for what had happened earlier?

She was sure that it was the former!
