138 Shadow Healing Part 3

Name:The Tiger Within Author:Valinteena
"Will she be alright?" Clovis asked after Kyera wiped the sweat from her brow. She thought for a long moment about how to answer.

"That's a two part answer. Her body is weak, lack of food and the amount of damage to her system could still kill her. However, with both creatures out of her, I could feel a response from almost every part of her body. I can say for sure she will wake up." Kyera's words were certain of this at least. There was a second note to her voice that concerned him and a key word that stuck out.

"Almost?" he asked and Kyera nodded slowly taking a deep breath. She had no idea how he would take this. How did she go about telling him?

"Your mother, The Empress will never walk again. The Doll Maker had completely eaten the energy lines that control her legs." Kyera explained, her heart heavy. Clovis sat still for a moment and processed this.

"But her arms?" he asked his voice logical and monotone.

"She is undamaged otherwise. Her arms, neck, waist, is all fine. It's just her legs. She will be able to talk and give hugs after she heals." Kyera replied soothingly. All was not lost and her quality of life was not dire, he just had to get past that she would need help to move.

"Then it doesn't matter. I will arrange for a sedan for her. If nothing else we will make a miniature cart and attach it to a dog." Clovis replied stroking his mother's hair from her face. His loving gaze was filled with tears as he realized she would be fine. He would hear her voice and see her smile again. He would see her happy, and that soothed his heart more than anything else.

Kyera smiled and gently touched his shoulder. "You need to tell your family. I will stay with her and get her presentable." Kyera offered with a gentle smile. He nodded.

"Thank you, Lady Kyera. I owe you so much." he spoke with true gratitude and she nodded nudging him toward the door.

Once he left Kyera turned back to the Empress and the whole she left by her spine. Kyera jerked carefully dug out the infection before sewing her closed. Refreshing her clothes and laying her in bed properly only took Kyera a few moments. The Empress had lost so much weight that it was child's play to move her since the creatures were gone.

She took a blue pill out of her pack as slipped it into the stomach wound before sewing it closed as well. Hopefully it would finish cleansing her system. Once that was completed Kyera pulled up the blankets and arranged her hair so The Empress looked comfortably sleeping. Just in time for the door to open.

She was surprised to see Mordrin alone, at the door. His eyes met Kyera's and held them. Her breathing slowed as she felt the change in the air.
