286 My Lady Wife to Be

Name:The Tiger Within Author:Valinteena
"Marrying me isn't just marrying a normal woman or even a noble. You are marrying a bloodline as old as the shadows are deep. You will be entering a magical bond between your soul and my own." Kyera tried to explain carefully. It would be easy to trap him and tell him after it was too late. That would be best for her people but she couldn't do it.

"I see. What will it entail?" Clovis asked his voice careful but he seemed to be thinking this through practically.

"There would be no divorce. You could never break this bond even if I die, it will be on you. You will be held to the law of the forest till the day the Gods and Goddesses free us from those rules." Kyera explained watching his expression. He seemed to be considering her words and weighing his responses.

"If I remember correctly Raina plays a song called the Forest Law?" he asked remembering the tune and the words well. Kyera smiled her expression brightening as she remembered teaching the child the song while her grandmother was ill.

"Yes. In all honesty it's a song all our cubs, kits, and little ones learn so they follow the laws from a early age."  Kyera explained honestly glad she wouldn't have to explain the laws in detail. If he knew the song that was enough.

"Then if that be the case I see no reason I could not follow them. As far as divorce… I am not in this just because I must marry." he pointed out setting the cup down.

"Oh?" Kyera asked watching him keenly, like a predator watching movement to see if it could be a meal moving past. "Then may I ask why you want to marry me?" Kyera replied honestly curious. Clovis smiled sitting up and leaning closer to her over the small table. His eyes suddenly as deep as the Never Ending Pool at the heart of the forest. A soft smile on his lips as he captured her eyes holding them in place by will alone.

"Lady Kyera Moon, do you truly need to ask?" he whispered his face close enough to hers she could feel his breath leaving soft tingles over her skin. Suddenly she felt as though he was the powerful predator and she was a rabbit in his noose. Her heart quicked and he leaned closer. Her hesitation to respond giving him the prompting he needed. "Then let me show you." he added and she was lost.

The soft warm skin of his lips met hers, and she melted into the kiss. His hand supporting her head and her body leaning closer to him. One hand on her slender waist, the other in her hair as his tongue slipped into her mouth. Gently he coaxed her to kiss him back and accept the loving passion he was offering her. Then, as she began to grow dizzy with the need for air, he released her.

Kyera took a deep breath, letting his words sink in, her cheek resting in his hand. She tilted slightly and kissed his palm feeling safe and warm with him. "Alright. I trust you Clovis. Announce our engagement. I… I will tell my people."

Clovis shook his head slowly his hand moving down her neck, over her shoulder, and to her hand. "No. We will tell our people. Together. It is high time I meet the shifters who make up part of my people. Please allow me to come with you." Clovis replied and Kyera couldn't help but chuckle.

"My dear husband to be, you aren't going anywhere dressed like that." she teased chuckling rather brightly. Her hands reaching out to grasp the ties of his robe and flicking them to make her point. He laughed, shocked at how good that sounded.

"Alright. My Lady Wife to be. I will change if, my wife to be agrees to call me hers from now on." he teased as he stood from the table. Kyera smirked.
