"My brothers have already become the adoration of the other three Empresses. No brother may be supported by the Same Empress. Mother was my only hope." Clovis pointed out running his hand through his hair.
"That is true, and i can not appoint Mordrin and Vella to the throne until next Fall " Mordakai replied, knowing the customs of his people. There was nothing he could really do to solve this.
Clovis closed his eyes, the pain was stifling. 'I won't be able to protect them now, perhaps I should have let Kyera go.' the thought itself nearly broke his heart, but it was too late now. She had already given him her most precious treasure.
A pair of gentle lips pressed to his forehead, her warm sent flooding his senses. With that warm, woodsy smell came a sense of calm and serenity. He couldn't help but smile as the warmth of a blush crept up his neck.
Mordrin and his father were suddenly very curious as to how Raina was doing with the children. They tried and failed to avoid the dog food stuffed down their throat. Raina however, was blissfully unaware as the little girl in sky blue showed her how to swing on her own. The two girls enjoying themselves immensely. When it was safe they turned back to see Kyera smiling softly.
"You three have all forgotten one very important woman. Empressa Crystalsa Leonora de Kalena FrostWind." Kyera did not struggle to say the name, but they struggled to understand her. Afterall, no one had seen her in years.
Empresa Crystalsa was a beautiful woman, with skin snow white like the finest ivory, and cheeks softly pink as though blushed by the chilled winds of her home land. Large blue eyes that seemed more like the silver in the night sky. Her hair was said to be as long and vibrant with color as the winter lights that shown in the night skies of the horizon. However her beauty was matched only in the nobility and grace she held herself with. No one outside her lands had seen her in nearly thirty years. Everyone remembered her as the tiny child she had been at the time she ascended the throne at barely nine years old.
"The Empress never agrees to see anyone, Kyera." Clovis pointed out and she smiled softly. Mordakai waited a eyebrow raised as if asking a question.
"I believe she will see us." Kyera replied firmly, she had a soft sneaky smile on her lips. "Empresa Crystalsa is a valiant and devout follower of the Forest code. She is also fond of honoring old debts, and the one she owes my people is perhaps the eldest her clan has ever had." Kyera pointed out as she finished her tea, the warm and almost cinnamon notes playing across her palate and nose as a soft tingle.
"He might, but I am curious. What debt would make That little Empresa agree to see you?" Mordakai asked, he had heard the rumors long ago that the shifter Clans had strong ties to the frozen lands but had never had the opportunity to ask. He wasn't about to let this one slip by.
Kyera smiled at him, having expected this. "Well to tell you that, I would need to tell you the legend of the Snow Drop." Kyera replied and Clovis looked puzzled.
"The white flower that is on their emblem?" he asked having remembered the small white bud. The flower itself was made of delicate tendrils of petals that arched and met again at the top. The sides of the flower have intricate veins that look almost like the pattern of a snowflake. At the center of the flower was a small blue orb that seemed to pulse with energy and was said to have magic powers.
