"Thank you, Mother." She then turned to Evelyn and the Emperor smiling at both sweetly. "Thank you for your recognition, Empress Vivian, and Emperor." She said with the perfectly measured tone of a lady. It was almost unnerving. She turned and took her Mother in Law's arm to guide her back to her chair.

Clovis smiled and offered her a hand. "The first dance of the ball, Belle of the Hunt?" He reminded her, ready to lead her onto the dance floor. She took his hand delicately.

"Thank you, Fourth Prince." Kyera replied respectfully and followed him out onto the floor. There was something in his eyes as he began carefully spinning his wife on the dance floor. They flowed through the motions, perfectly. Their bodies never touched, there was very little familiarity in this dance. It was beautiful, but also almost cold.

"You are beautiful this evening." He whispered wanting to hear her voice. He needed that familiarity from her.

"Thank you, Prince Clovis." She replied still controlling her voice. His expression darkened slightly in confusion and Kyera chuckled. "Oh come now love, I'm just acting. Its still your wife in here." She whispered with a carefully concealed wink, her bangs hiding her expression from the world around them. A relieved smile curved his lips. His eyes warmed and glowed with love.

"Good, you had me worried. I love you." He replied kissing her forehead.

"I love you too. Now let's finish this dance." Kyera purred sweetly and he couldn't help but smile.

"I was worried about my Pretty Kitten." He teased as they finished the dance with the perfect flourish.

Then the dancing began. People swirled onto the dance floor as Kyera and Clovis stepped off the dance floor. Raina was being led out onto the floor by Nathaniel. Kyera chuckled.

"I wonder if he knows that he just chose one of the best dancers in the room." Mordakai asked with a chuckle.

"Kyera, would you mind helping me watch over the baby so I can enjoy a dance with my brother?" Vella asked and a Talis stepped forward.

"I would be happy to hold the young sir. Kyera has already been made to put the baby through a bit tonight." He pointed out and Vella raised a brow. It was clear this guard wasn't trained to their specifications.

Kyera ensured that the Evelyn and Talis were both settled in before wandering around the ballroom. She took on the appearance of her grandmother, the Matriarch. She glided from person to person, greeting and smiling as she went. The compliments she gave and received were plastic and she hardly paid any attention to what was going on around her. There was no reason to. These people would remember her, but she had no reason to remember them.
