"You are twisting your words to threaten me." She accused and he laughed darkly.
"No, I was warning you. Normal humans can't and full gods are forbidden to touch a priest or priestess. However, a Demigod is neither forbidden or too weak to destroy you." The Shadow king replied as he looked to the window.
"I wondered when you would come to your Priestess's aid." He directly addressed the pale golden fox who had appeared behind his daughter. Lady Fate took human form and smiled warmly to the room.
"Of course. Now then, though your intentions in such a warning are pure, you will order your daughter to hand your Grandson out for his blessing." Lady Fate's tone grated on the Shadow King's nerves.
"Why would I do that?" The Shadow King demanded his voice hard mockery. She pulled a vellum paper from thin air.
"Because the Elders have agreed to give his soul to me unless maternal ties prohibit it. Kyera is not a Goddess, and unfortunately neither is her mother. Only you, of the child's family could he his godly nurturing body but your past four children perished without your aid, and Kyera nearly died twice. It has been decided you can not be this child's Guardian." Lady fate read the official decree from the scroll, more or less echoing her own words. The shadow King's face turned ashen with fear. The official seal. Even he could not fight the elders.
"I will not…" he began but then, blue shackles appeared on his wrists and ankles.
"You can do nothing to stop it. Perhaps next time you will protect your charges." Lady Fate's voice was sharp and cold cutting like a knife to his very heart. "Now give me the boy."
"No." Kyera growled knowing her father's hands were tied.
"Don't make me laugh. Do you truly think you can deny me? Your own father can't defy the elders." Fate taunted Kyera but Kendrick grabbed Clovis and made him take a step back. Though Clovis tried to resist, his brother in law's grip was ironclad. He had no choice but to retreat a step.
"My father is tied by the council, not by you. Granted, I applaud your intelligence." Kyera spoke honestly, she sincerely seemed to admire the Lady Fate's mind. It played into the Goddess' Vanity well.
"OH and why would that be?" Fate asked, fishing for compliments and Kyera smiled as the power in her smoldered, struggling to light.

"How dare you speak such words to me." Lady Fate growled and Kyera smirked.
"I speak only the truth, Lady Fate. I saw your mark engraved on that girl's hand. I know she was your messenger and you sent her to murder my brothers so she could be 5 steps closer to the throne." Kyera accused mercilessly. She was so glad Kan was not in the room. Her brother and Father would be hard enough to contain. "The only problem was I survived. Luckily it was just weak little Kyera the tiniest cub… I bet you regret underestimating me now, don't you? Because of me all that effort spent to weaken my father was wasted. Poor Lady Fate…" Kyeras taunts were patronizing now. She was enjoying watching the way the Goddess's nails dug into her palm in pure anger.
"THE ONE WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO DIE WAS YOU!" Lady Fate's annoyance at having her foiled, but carefully laid plan splayed before her broke her last nerve. "I never underestimated you. She simply balked at killing you first. Too scared of the revenge your brothers would have." Fate smeared at Kendrick who laughed darkly.
