(JYJ’s POV)
“Where are we?!”
After they were pulled in, the items nearby that had been dragged in along with them abruptly stopped gushing out of the air. Then, a little while later, Yoon Jae, who was outside the warehouse, appeared. Yi Joon immediately realised that Yoon Jae had entered by his own will.
He disliked the fact that Yoon Jae entered fearlessly, even though the entrance that was wide open in the air seemed to indicate that ‘this place is dangerous’. Despite Yi Joon’s anger however, Yoon Jae spoke proudly.
“You guys don’t even know where you are.”
“What?”
“How can I wait around when you guys are wandering around like this?”
What, was he saying that he knew exactly where they were? Yi Joon was shocked, but he felt better when Yoon Jae said that he had entered because he was worried about them.
Yi Joon was relieved, thinking, ‘I have this ability, so I can protect you.’
“Listen. I’ll explain.”
The information coming out of Yoon Jae’s mouth was interesting. As expected, this place was not Earth, and the time zone was different from Earth.
“So this place is… not Earth?”
“Yeah. This is a different dimension. But I’m not sure if this place should be treated as a hostile or safe one.”
Dimensions were divided into levels from 0 to 10. As the number increased, the risk increased and it could be difficult to survive.
“I don’t know what the time difference is between here and Earth. It’s an extreme example, but let’s say I spent 10 minutes here. It could be 10 years on Earth…”
“What? Really? What should we do?”
“That’s an example, but I don’t think it’ll be that extreme. I requested a rescue team to be sent before I entered. “
Yoon Jae looked at his watch for a while and chuckled, thinking that he had done something stupid. Since he had just said that there would be a time difference between here and outside…
“They said they would send one in 30 minutes. So you’ll have to wait a bit. We don’t have to wait too long if the time here is faster than outside.”
“Even if the rescue team enters, what about the exit? We need to know where the exit is so we can get out.”
“The exit… is located in the centre.”
The dimension inside the gate was not an infinite expanse. It was best described as an isolated piece of land that had been cut off and placed in a transparent glass box. So it was a space that was limited to some extent, and borders existed.
In the centre, there was a dimension stone and an exit.
There were two methods to leave the gate, however, as the dimension stone was the core that maintained this dimension, breaking it caused the gate to collapse. The collapsed gate would then spit out whatever was near the dimension stone and disappear.
Meanwhile, if you left via the exit, the gate was still maintained. Therefore, in the original work, the dimension stone was not broken until all the resources in the dimension were extracted.
Of course, in urgent situations, there was no other choice apart from breaking the dimension stone to leave but…
There’s a high probability that you’ll leave together with nearby monsters, so it’s only used when your life is at risk…
When the dimension stone is broken, it sucks in everything around it, just like when a gate first forms. The potential to drag out even monsters was what made it a non-preferential method.
But it’s not easy to get through the regular exit.
Yoon Jae sighed a little. It was because there was only one way to open the exit.
“If you go to the centre, there is a crystal that emits light and floats in the air. It’s called a dimension stone. There’s a monster that guards that dimension stone, so you can consider it as the boss monster of this dimension. Because the monsters here listen to its words.”
“Something like that exists…?”
“The exit is in the body of the boss monster. Or to be more precise, the exit will be right there when it dies.”
“Then should we catch it? How?”
The more that information about the exit came out of Yoon Jae’s mouth, the more Yi Joon and Eui Yeol’s expressions grew disheartened. Talk about catching and killing happened, but the current situation was not a game, but a reality.
It wasn’t like olden days when humanity lived by hunting, and the thought of whether modern people, immersed in peace, would really be able to kill a monster came to Yi Joon’s mind. It was a more pressing concern for Yi Joon, even before the thought of being hunted instead.
“I’ve called the guild members and… we’ll be able to catch it somehow.”
Yoon Jae prayed that this gate had a level lower than 5. Of course, it was advantageous for him to survive, but he hoped that the other two would not blame him for their deaths if it occurred due to his faulty judgement.
After hearing Yoon Jae’s words, the two were silent as if they hadn’t yet come to terms with what had been presented to them.
“But how do you know this?”
“Huh?”
“I’ve never seen such a story anywhere on the Internet or in the news…”
“That… I saw it in the American government’s top secret documents.”
In fact, no one would know if such a thing existed, but Yoon Jae boldly sold the United States. They were deceived by Yoon Jae’s words that he had seen a top-secret document that they had difficulty obtaining.
“That’s why I thought this would happen someday. So I made a guild.”
“…I see. That’s why you continued to recruit guild members while being ridiculed like that.”
When Yoon Jae made the guild, Yi Joon nodded his head with a look that said he knew now. Well, he was hired by Yoon Jae, but at the time he was hired, he thought it was just the hobby of a rich young master who wanted to collect unusual things.
It wasn’t until Yoon Jae was attacked several times that he used him as a bodyguard.
“You’re really…”
“…”
“You’re really looking at the future.”
When Yi Joon expressed his admiration, Yoon Jae was a little surprised. It was true that he was looking at the future, but… what the real Ki Yoon Jae thought when making the guild was unknown. It was because of the blank gap in his memory. However, Yoon Jae decided to shamelessly move forward without changing his expression.
“So, we’re waiting for guild members to come in here and waiting…”
At that moment, a tree fell not far away. Everyone stopped talking and looked in the direction of the sound, as the sound of falling trees grew louder.
“Wh-what?”
As the sound drew closer, the three of them stood still, paying close attention to the direction of the sound carefully.
What appeared between the falling trees was…
“Rhino…ceros?”
Does a rhinoceros have horns on its back? The three looked at each other with bewildered faces before coming to their senses.
“Guys! Run away!”
It was Yoon Jae who came to his senses first. As Yoon Jae spat out those words and ran, he heard a monster cry from behind.
“Damn it!”
When the rhinoceros-like monsters had just appeared, they were slow to advance past the trees, but more importantly, the place they were in was a small, open, empty field. As the monster began to speed up, it was going to catch up with them.
“Go into the forest!”
Yi Joon used his strength to destroy the ground. It didn’t cause an explosion strong enough to kill, but it overturned the ground, making it difficult for the monster to run. While the monster faltered, Yi Joon followed the two into the forest.
“Ke-keep following me!”
Eui Yeol looked back and shouted with a pale complexion. The monster was chasing Yi Joon without giving up despite his interference. Trees the size of an adult’s waist were broken every time the monster shook its body.
If a tree was felled that way, could a weak human body withstand it? The three of them really had no choice but to run with all their might. How long they ran for was unclear but eventually the three people’s eyes widened.
“Huh?”
“Argh!”
The place they reached was a canyon. They could see the river flowing down in the distance. In that instance, Yoon Jae and Eui Yeol, who were running ahead, began to fall.
“Ki Yoon Jae! …Damn it!”
Yi Joon, who was the last to arrive, was able to stop in time. However, with the monster approaching, he had no choice but to jump too.
Of course, the monster that was chasing them fell down the canyon without being able to overcome its speed.
The three, meanwhile, plummeted with a tingling sensation pulling at their stomachs, free-falling.
“Yoon Jae-ya!”
A frightened expression appeared on Eui Yeol’s face as he grabbed Yoon Jae’s hand.
It was as if he was trying to save Yoon Jae despite falling himself. Yoon Jae, who was in a daze, grabbed his hand tightly.
“It’ll be okay.”
‘Because you’re the main character.’ The fear was lifted from Eui Yeol’s face at the words Yoon Jae whispered.
“Hey, these fucking monsters…” Yi Joon, who caught up to the two falling, growled.
Grasping the two other men by entangling their limbs together, Yi Joon forcefully split them apart.
“What are you two doing without me!”
